Great win for USJ to win the Gold Ball. I watched both of their wins and they grinded them out. Thought a few times they may be in trouble but they pulled it out. Congratulations again.

Is it me or does TSSAA have all West Tn teams playing each other in the first round?

Dodgen seems like a good coach. In the games I have watched it seems like the girls relate to him well. Sometimes the best teams do not make it to the state. Not always the coaches fault.

Getting transfers from all over the state and sometimes different states, particularly the D1 caliber ones is the biggest difference lol. Not like Alcoa works THAT much harder than every other 3A team or that their coaches invented the wheel.

I like Barnes but he is the type of coach that might have DK on the bench the last part of the game because he got beat baseline on defense. Olivier scored 27 against Duke last year and barely seen the floor second half of FLA Atlantic. Can't fire the guy but man he has some weird ways in March. White County always is a good team. Hard to fire a guy that makes a deep run every year.

I looked at the TSSAA records and I didn't see most consecutive appearances but I did see that the sharp shooter y'all had that graduated broke a record last year at state. Not going to try to spell her name. She went 11-12 from the field last year and is number 1 in FG% at state all time. Shelbyville has won 12, Jackson County and Clarkrange with 8 are your top 3 in titles.

Not being a jerk… just giving updates on scores. Blackmon may be doing ok but I know for a fact by someone they dodged us a couple years ago when we wanted a dual. My point to you first score was the numbers Blackmon had in that session and we had 8. But YOU made it seem like it was something. I was simply saying (not making an excuse) that that’s the ONLY reason. thanks for congratulating Trey. Gotta keep grinding.

Coffee County vs Bradley College Hopefully CC can pull the upset and beat the #1 recruiting team in the state. That’s including the private schools.

Former Morristown West wrestler Griffyn Broyles will take the mat today at 86kg for the United States Air Force freestyle team today in Colorado Spings where he’ll square off with former Olympian John Stefanowitz of the USMC and former Final X participant Ryan Epps of the Army. Griffyn originally was invited to camp to compete for the 79kg spot but was asked to bump up and wrestle off for the 86kg spot which he won.

So many facts. The best team in the state is the one holding the gold ball.

Why is everyone so shocked that Heritage won? Am I totally missing something? Based on Strength + Success, Strength of Schedule and game location (not to mention the fact that WC entered the game with a loss) I was not surprised at all.

They are not the best team. The best team in AAA will hoist a good ball in 6 more days.

For some reason , White Co can't win the big games . Both our bigs fouled out last two games . Don't believe it happned any other time this year . Hard to win when 2 of your best players are sitting on the bench .

I rember one thing about Coach Reuter . White Co beat them for the region title when they had Howard . Coach Reuter didn't shake our coaches hand . Walked the other way . What a jerk !

Stayed in foul trouble with our bigs all night . Both fouled out , playing limited minutes . Our team with freshman and sophmores played great in the 4th quarter. They made last second shot to win by 1 . Best team White Co has had in years . Haven't been to state in 27 years . I was proud of this team the way they played at the end . Tough loss . Only trouble i had with coach is that he spent too much time on the refs . Worry more about the game . Maryville has a good team , have to give them some credit .

Their strength of schedule was 11th out of 85 aaa teams this season. Not that bad really. Anyway, we should be very solid again next season for sure.

Would be really surprised if Westview beats Loretto

This is 100% accurate. The Cubbard is bare there and they would have blamed it all on him at the end of this next season. He knew what was in store talent wise for the next 4 years and got out while he could. Milan is in trouble for sure!

The Lipscomb football program is an embarrassment. I never thought the program would be close to being on probation or sanctioned. The program used to stand for character and integrity. Let's face it 2 years of no playoffs is as close to the death penalty in high school football as you can get. From what I hear they will not play a true freshman schedule this year. What does that do to your future ? Players will leave the program with no post season chance and quite frankly I don't see them being more competitive than last year which was .500. They basically begged Mawae to take the job which he really didn't want in the first place. The admin traded a few good years for a decade rebuild due to blatant cheating. I don't care if other schools break rules....it's not right... yes all D2 schools have some skeletons in the closet (even MBA & CPA) but breaking rules is not justifiable. Lipscomb has alienated their alumni base and from what I'm told removed all the championship trophies and adornments of the past from the facilities. Lipscomb was a championship program before Dilfer arrived full of success although that had wained. The board voting against Lipscomb shows just how much the program is disliked by people in the state . The board voted against them not because of recruiting but due to their poor reputation across the state. What self respecting program brings in a QB in August to play from another state let alone a young man whose parents aren't moving into the area for a stated purpose. The QB is supposed to be the leader of the program not a hired commodity for 3 months. This move was an obvious red flag and deserved the investigation it got. All schools should work within the rules of an association and if the school cannot then they should depart . Possibly the association needs as much scrutiny as the schools are receiving currently but that is another topic.

Idk I think history wise GC and WV are right there together..both got 3 gold balls Westview has 2 silver Gibson county has one. WV has 18 state tournament appearances Gibson county as of now has 17. As a Westview alumni and fan I admit Gibson county is right up there with us in terms of history and tradition in girls basketball.

Lincoln county did finish in the top 4 of their district even at 6-23. are you just mad because Brentwood got healthy and busted that bracket up this year? The regular season does mean something, it’s seeding for district tournament. upsets are why march madness is the greatest sporting event on earth.
