This didn't happen at a football game, but i'm sure it has happened to someone.

At the Riverdale-Oakland basketball game @ oakland i had a woman tell her kid to lay across the bleachers in front of her and her husband because they didn't want anyone to sit there!!!!!!! Of course i invited some fellow fans to take advantage of the "open" seat and the woman went nuts!!!!!!! Sorry for getting off topic but i thought it was somewhat relevant.

I don't have a problem with the band or the band parents, same with cheerleaders. What i can't stand is when the band, usually due to lack of leadership or direction, doesn't "participate" during a game. They play what they want, when they want. Every band director should have to attend a college football game to watch the way the band interacts with the fans....

Cheerleaders that try to talk to the players on the sidelines!!!!!!!!!!

1. The parents that try to sit too close to the student section and then tell you to sit down because they cant see and then get the cops.

2. The other teams band parents that come to the home side to get a good view of the halftime show.

3. When the bands set up for halftime and tell you to move out of the way when they try to get to the sideline. (especially when we played Hendersonville. Theyre bands parents and fans are extrememly annoying and rude)

4. When the cops take your airhorns and then go give them to the other team.

5. The student sections always end up right next to the band.

I went to the WB/McMinn County game last season and I would have swore that McMinn was sponsored by Mayfield Milk by all of the yellow milk jugs on the McMinn end of the stadium. I think Mayfield has yellow jugs because of the home town team from Athens. Forget what Scotty Mayfield says about light affecting the taste of milk. This brings up another annoying thing. One sided stadiums. Put the visitors on the other side. Another thing are fields with a track around it. At the Maryville/Heritage game is seemed like the field was a mile away. (Great view of Chilhowee Mountain though)

    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.

    • Athletics is just a piece. It can help them academically, socially and add confidence. I was still 17 when I finished my first quarter at UT. I was the last to get my driver's license. It's not always just for athletics.
    • USJ not even close to being able to hold a meet like that
