When was the last time murvil was shut out at home?

Mr. X from the way I read the Hymnal it was 1985 when AE beat us 3-0. But Ellejoy A&M blanked us 28-0 in 2000 out there on their beautiful campus. That's when GQ got off to the rocky start. Luckily for him we brought home the Gold that year. Edited by rebelwoman87

Very lucky that year. I heard after the forth loss the moving van just happened to be booked that weekend or all these good things wouldn't have happened to us since. 2000 is still my favorite season of all.

Maryville will win by as many points as Quarles wants to win by.

Don't know GQ's thoughts, but 1 point is fine with me. Falcon's scare me to death! You think the sky is all clear and victory is secure and then, outta nowhere, that lightning fast fowl swoops down and snatches victory out of your hands!

The perfect storm formed for them to lose at Mo West and they still won! Like Josey Wales, "They're quick as a rattlesnake and twice as deadly!"

Mostly because it was more our loss than Fulton's win. Had we cashed in on our chances and y'all found a way to win I would be singing a different tune.

P.S. Oh sorry, forgot to clarify. We have 6 cross country (5 in girls, 1 in boys) and 1 in girls golf. We might have a couple in football had Maryville not been in 4A in the 2000's, but we have one silver one from a year we overachieved to even get there. But it's what it is.

Do you know how many other teams that could claim they would have won 4a championships if Maryville wasn't in their way? The one time they got past Maryville your going to sit here and say they overachieved? That was one of the best team Morristown West ever fielded! With Fanney, Fedricks, etc yall D was stout!

    • Tough situation.  Not sure the ROI is there right now.   Might be better options that are cheaper.
    • Yeah summer ball is really fun, but a lot of coaches are trying to play several kids to get much needed reps that they are not accustomed to. I would imagine Gibson County will have lots of players playing to get much needed reps. Want to win games but got to get experience as well and the rotation will be much deeper. I will be at MTSU, UTM Bethel and others. MTSU is the one I really look forward to.
    • So who are the new additions to the staff? Serious answers only please.
    • Its always interested to see the state teams the following summer after losing or not losing seniors and getting freshman and transfers. It's almost time.
    • Maryville has Alcoa on the schedule at the right time of the season which helped last year instead of at the first of the year not knowing much. West will be hard pressed to repeat this year but next will be a different story.
