Got Whipped bad all night long!!! Yes we true Pirate faithful don't look through rose colored glasses. We call it like we see it. Yes we finished 9-1 and those 9 wins IMO were against 2 good teams, 1 decent team, 2 so so teams, and four really bad teams.  The bad thing is we didn't play the best of games even against those really bad teams.  I just hope our young mean look deep inside themselves this week and examine themselves and no one else and ask themselves this question. Am I giving everything I have for this team? If any player can't say that with a big yes then they should go ahead and turn there uniform in today. I had rather go up to Whitwell with half a squad of no quitter's than a full squad that could care less if this is the last game or not.  Effort is everything in my book and I have only seen that in just a few player's this year.  If we get beat and there's total effort, I am ok with that, but just going through the motions and not caring, that's a whole new ballgame.. I'm being serious about my comments and I hope this get's back to some of the player's.

LOPAO, Old Pirate says the inability to tackle at the second level what OP saw. LB & secondary are expected to tackle far better than what the Pirates were able to do. Rarely, did OP see them not give up ground after contact! Recon maybe some ain’t wearing Rose Colored glasses but need to see an optometrist. The OL didn’t stay blocks, DL did a poor job of shedding blocks.

I've only been to a few games this year due to personal and family illness but I've been keeping up with everything that's going on the best I can. I feel Whitwell has the group to beat South Pittsburgh again but I do believe it will be much tougher game than round one. I've been around valley football since South Pittsburgh won the state in '69. You NEVER overlook SPHS!!! If Whitwell does football is a funny game...when ole mo gets on a certain sideline a lot of things can happen!! But?? If Whitwell gets the mo they are very explosive!!! Turnovers and time of possession will be very important!!! My advice to South Pittsburgh is grind it and control the clock...that will be there best defense keeping the ball out of Whitwells hands. I think the Raulston boy..#9 must be a man possessed running between the tackles and eating the clock while hopefully get points on long drives. Whitwell is very tough defensively! My advice to Whitwell is don't get overconfident and focus! Your the best team but you must play error free ball and hope the weather allows you to throw on occasion. Be aggressive on defense and hit hard..you may wear South Pittsburgh down...but NEVER overlook a team with tradition like SPHS. I hope it's a good clean game with no injuries and I hope the winner takes the state championship!!!
