Yep.  Was told last night that there is definitely a connection there and that Bernard is awaiting something to his his desk.

Yeah and Benard and the TSSAA will lose in court like the James Wiseman case. He had a true connection with Penny Hardaway and he still played. These kids will end up at Ravenwood and eligible to play.

Don't shoot the messenger here.  I was just passing on what I have been told from somebody working the story.

Stacking the table at Ravenwood. This reeks of impropriety.

I pray this is fake news!!!

I am sorry, this is not good for the game!!!

My suggestion would be any transfer has to sit out one year, unless a parent is teaching full time in that school system.

This has to stop somewhere!!!

TSSAA HAS TO STEP UP AND FIX THIS!!!

Look I'm not saying this doesn't seem fishy. But a kid shouldn't have to sacrifice a year of athletics because their family had to move. That hurts way more kids than it helps IMO

Grimes just volunteers wth npa and his name is not on nothing from what I seen. These 5 students stay under the same roof and has been playing together since little league football am I correct? If they are moving from memphis to Brentwood "210 miles" How can you stop it?

Move for employment, yes, but the article seems to indicate they are moving to skirt the transfer rules.  And why Ravenwood?  Lots of quality schools/football programs much closer to Memphis.

Why Ravenwood?? Top 5 public school in the state for academics, top of the line coaching staff,  and playing in one of the best academic/athletic districts in the state.

My only question is do they know how much housing is inside the Ravenwood zone??

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
