Sorry, but Whitwell is going to get creamed. Even if they keep O its going to be a 50/50 battle at best. It is hard to say how it is going to effect Lake County. If whoever takes over there sticks with the system and can get the young men to buy in, they will be o.k. However on veer teams for example, it will be hard to switch to a passing spread in a short time.

But if you got a good staff and a good core kids you can find something that will work and be successful. The Whitwell comment. I'm sure you are spot on. I just don't see them making any strides anytime soon.

tradertwo
Since this falls under the heading of "the other", I'll throw some food for thought out there. This is the year of reclassification, and also TSSAA has it on their collective mind to adjust (probably) to five classes... I'd love to read what some of you are thinking about CV-19's possible influence. Assuming that school reconvenes on schedule, and the enrollment numbers are sent to TSSAA on the traditional date, I can foresee more than insignificant numbers of kids being held out or homeschooled, dependent upon location and demographics. Thoughts???

Thoughts??? Interesting. I am not sure how all of that would shake out with homeschooling, but home schooled kids can still participate in athletics inside their school district. To your point, those kids won't be counted in numbers and you could realistically, for instance, have a strong 2A school competing in 1A with the same number of players as usual. I don't think a school would drop more than a class, but it may be worth the TSSAA planning on this cycle to only do a two year instead of 4 year. Thoughts??? I'm anxious to see what the Association comes up with. I think it's as good a time as any to have just a 2 year cycle instead of 4. Good point on the enrollment numbers due to more students being home schooled. I hadn't thought of that.

But if the numbers are possibly going to be greatly skewed why not just wait one more year to reclassify? Get enrollment number in the fall of 2021. Have teams play one more year with current teams on schedule.

Currently, if any particular school loses 20% of populous from the reclassification year number, they are allowed to move down. Set it at 10% gain/loss and shift after one year... that would allow for the unknown effect of the virus on enrollment numbers in various demographics.
