GC is thankful to get there. It's been a wild year, but up there...anything can happen. We know from experience. Hope the Boro is a packed house, everyone has safe travels, and every player comes out of it healthy. At the end of the day, it's a game played by teenagers who will never forget these types of moments in their life. Go Lady Pioneers!

Pickett County is no joke neither is Gibson County and as we all know once you get to the glass house anything can happen. Good luck to all the teams!

Gibson County is playing well right now and is very thankful and blessed to be there. Gibson County has lost 8 players since November of 2018 that would be in the rotation or starting right now so Coach Wilkins ought to be the coach of the year for developing his talent and getting his girls to play at a high level. He has dealt with four major injuries to his kids since March 2019.  IMO all the pressure is on Greenfield and in a sense Loretto. They have been the talk of the year and very deserving as they are two outstanding teams. Clarkrange will be tough as nails as well. The rest of the field can get hot as well. North Green has beaten South Green and Gatlinburg Pittman this year as well. Looks like 8 pretty good teams to me. Summertown is a team that could have won it too. Very good team that got knocked out by a good Huntingdon team.

Agreed.  Very impressive what GC has been able to accomplish with what all you've lost.

True fans realize that anyone can lose.  A soft draw will help a team's cause...  there are a lot of good (pressure) teams in this tournament.  And while a favored team may win a battle in their first round....  They could be pitted against a team they're favored against in round 2, but that team could be fresher because they blew out their first round team and sat their starters in the 3rd period.

Anyone that's a true fan is cautious from being too confident with their words on a message board.  I for one, will not put any Joe Boo on my team!

Good luck to everyone.  I hope every player makes it through the Tournament healthy!

Ole Bullshark must be living right. I can’t remember any thing in my life that is great or makes you feel good that is a “cakewalk”. Will be interesting to see how everything pans out.  One thing is for sure. There will be 8 pretty good basketball teams for sure. May God bless all players, coaches and fans with good travel and good health. Good luck to you guys and all the teams!!

The Cinderella team is Gibson County. Not saying they will but there is 1 game on their schedule (earlier this year) that stands out. The rest will go as expected.

Greenfield 30+

Clarkrange 10+

Loretto 20+

Gibson County is a pick em but if they win it sets up a rematch of last year’s final. I think GC matches up better with Loretto than PC does.

GC has played Loretto the last two years. We played them in Huntingdon in a Christmas Tournament two years ago and played them last year in the finals. So we know them. But Pickett County will be a handful I will assure you. Very fundamental and handle the ball well and always shoote well. Have some good wins this year. Blew Oneida out twice and was a solid number two in their region. Very good team and a great tradition.

    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
