Will season be completed?

I'm thinking along the same lines as BigEdMo, only I'll say that if we can get by one month we'll probably be OK. There may not be further transmission of CV-19, but there'll be a spike in cases just from the dramatic increase in testing among school aged kids that's about to happen. If cooler heads prevail, and allow for percentages instead of "new cases" there's a chance.

That’s not a valid argument. Three weeks of contact is plenty. Used to be that way for years. You ain’t gotta beat them to death for a month for kids to be ready physically. Only difference will be the first game or so may be a little sloppier from a technique and schematic standpoint.

Three weeks of contact with no spring ball, no  7-on-7's, and no preseason scrimmages is a recipe I call, Players aren't Ready.

I don’t know how we ever finished a season before there were spring practices, passing leagues (uncool name for 7 on 7) and 6 weeks of pre season practice.

I get it if you think they should have waited because of COVID. I disagree but that’s a lucid argument. But grasping at straws that aren’t there belittles your position.

That's 2 of us.We will be ready. We have ran no contact practice for 5 years. With 35 kids you don't have enough bodies to go full contact with worrying about getting somebody hurt. And we've had a pretty good Run For the past 5 years.

Nobody conditioned or practiced harder than us last season. Nobody started earlier, nor did anybody put more time into being physically ready for that first kickoff than us. If lack of conditioning or hitting in practice subjects kids to injury, it stands to reason that an abundance of it would prevent injuries, right? Last year we had enough kids hobbling around, sitting, or playing with nagging ailments that after week two, we didn't start close to our game one lineup in any game afterward. You can't pull them out of the classroom and play them in a week, but if they've been conditioning this summer, a couple of weeks getting used to pads and helmets is enough to play.

I'll add this... if we start on time and play a full season, we'll have less ailments this year than last or I'll literally eat my hat.

I edited my post for fear of starting a debate about it.But you are spot on but most teams dont put the emphasis that some do on the offseason. In my opinion the offseason is just as if not MORE important than the reg season.I posted earlier that some schools will have tons of injuries and sore kids and my reason was because I hear so many complaints about no one showing up or working to be ready for the season. We have always had a great offseason workout schedule and as most can see it pays off!Good post Trader as usual.

Kids won’t get tested unless they have symptoms right?? I know none of my family and friends will get tested unless there is a reason to get tested.

Correct. I look at it if we are able to play the teams that busted it every summer morning will be ready to play. The ones that didn’t thinking no season or delayed will come out flat

We can assume that most won't, but we also need to assume that some will for some reason... maybe they were exposed, maybe they have a temperature recorded at school, or maybe they have a symptom. Thing is, someone will eventually test positive that has "exposed" teammates, and then it begins in quantity. How people react to this scenario will determine the outcome of this season.

Milan started earlier than you guys last year. We started before everybody. Remember Teddy couldn’t read a calendar. :)

South Pitt doesn’t workout like they should during the summer. They are too busy orchestrating.
