It's one thing to have a neighbor transfer but when you get a transfer from the other end of the state that is highly ranked Nationally and you do not expect anyone to wonder then you are just not human. It defies the imagination in many what connections could a small town like Powell have that California New Jersey or even Texas don't have and it's not UT Knoxville??? When we are talking the full United States? But I am glad. Give AC something to prepare for.

Newsflash Maverick:

Much of success in any profession or success in life is a result of networking.  And it's especially true in the coaching profession.

Nolen's family moved in to the Powell zone.  It's no different than if a kid moves in to the AC zone from the Campbell County zone.

I know Keep it simple HTV. I am proud to see what what our AC coaching staff can do with this opportunity. This is a non conference game. So this can only make AC better. Apparently from the films no one wants to block him. I do not expect that from AC.

I actually think it is less suspect when someone moves in from far away. Parents get transferred all the time. Some by choice, some not. We are having the reverse Grapes of Wrath in Maryville, which means it's in all of TN. Maryville's Women's Soccer team is starting three California born players who have moved in within the last two years.

Boy, if this thread is any indication, the Powell game threads are going to be something this season.

It's a part of that circus I've been warning about. The real big circus act will be next week when Powell goes to Maryville and Packer comes to town. His last visit was getting escorted off the field of play when he ran out of the stands and onto the playing field interrupting the game trying to convince the official he had made the wrong call. His welcoming back party will be worth the price of admission alone.

Yep. Parents getting kids out of bad areas isn't anything new.

Why are you tying Packer to Powell?

Two entirely different entities.

It's Maryville's home game. They decided to allow Packer to televise, not Powell.

I'm not any more of a fan of how that Thursday night broadcast disrupts the normal game flow than you are, but this wasn't Powells decision.

Sam Vaulton left Alcoa for CA, Safdar McCray comes in from CA in exchange. Believe McCray stayed for a hot shower and that was it.

He stayed till Maryville took the fight out of him. I saw it on my TV.  His house was on the back side of the Rock Gardens neighborhood in Alcoa. I recognize every location in that show (which was kinda cool) except for the opening shot of the bridge. Any ideas on where that bridge was, anyone?

Powell and itself will be one thing but Packer will bring a double header for the price of one. I myself like Packer but the fans in general are caught up in it like live wrestling and will never forget the show that happened at the Farragut game in a lifetime. Little did everyone know he would ever be back especially after being made to leave. You can't make stuff like this up so make sure and go early for a ticket.
