Nomatter how their season is going,Oak Ridge is one of the states all time great programs and it's awesome to see the Devils on their schedule.I don't know a lot about every member of the OR team but I guarantee some of the Devils will have their hands full at several positions next week.Just because a team isn't getting wins doesn't mean there isn't talent on the field.I remember several years ago,one of my boys went down to play Oak Ridge and man they had some great ball players but must have had some of the poorest coaches in east TN at the time for a great program. They went well over 300 plus on the line and had awesome looking athletes in the skill positions. They had a QB that looked like he was 6-5 240 and could move .When I watched them warm up,I looked over at another players dad and said " we are overrated " and this might be ugly.I was wrong but I'd bet those OR players with some of Greeneville or Maryville's staffs over the years, could have won state with no problem. So,forget their record and prepare like crazy.

    • While I appreciate being credited with multiple accounts, I have to say that is not true. Will you please report back to your people that I am not someone who provides sharp, witty banter, but rather someone who is putting the shoe on the other foot for some people that have been repeatedly bashing others here and in real life for the past few years? Everything that I have stated has been backed by factual evidence or public record, so no need to be sharp and witty.
    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
