Not to mention they take HALF of the money when it comes to the playoffs. HALF!!! The host school and the visiting school have to split the rest. How silly. This is a great example of a " not for profit " making huge salaries to " govern and enforce rules" while sitting in their fat offices drawing a big fat salary. It is obnoxious!

Yeah that’s wild. You host a first round game and and 10 visiting fans show up sometimes.

The TSSAA has more issues than a transfer thing. I think it is time for them to considered adjusting the transfer rule. The TSSAA laid an egg in the basketball and baseball postseasons that was disappointing for an average sports fan. It's in the "rule book" or whatever, just rarely enforced. Unfortunately, I think it is time for them to readjusting it.

Someone mentioned “high jacking the Peabody thread” I don’t feel that way one bit, this has been a informative back and forth ! In reality Devine intervention stopped the Super team of Fairley from going to state, and  most likely losing to Meigs, Meigs brand of physical ball would have been to much , in that game Dickson ran for 10 plus yards every touch but we didn’t feed the beast ! Similar to the title game , Dickson with a MCL sprain ran over a defensive unit that was scary talented! I do feel as if in some way I am attacking the kids at MASE, but that hasn’t been any one’s intention here I believe ,Should they suffer from crooked adults behavior ? No! But that’s the nature of the beast I guess ! The deeper question is does winning matter that much ? Why yes it does ! Look at your small schools that put #### in seats and have amazing facilities because of that winning, a few of late I can say are UC PHS S Pitt just to name a few, not leaving folks out just theee very small schools that have 4 A facilities in small ball and have  multiple Gold or silver balls lately ! We are small town folks and these young men deserve fair play with the same rules for all and I feel that’s where the passion in this thread has came from , not Memphis hate ! It still broke my heart watching those Tidemen embrace those Fairly kids as they literally cried on our field  after the loss, in closing I feel all kids deserve a tssaa that upholds the rules of fair play 24/7 no exceptions ! Just imagine a couple more weeks till the Purple Pups come out and look for their shadow , they will se it again and will retreat into the Dawg Pound for another text book 0-1 start ! I wonder if the names Baugus And Driggers strike fear into the tiny pups hearts , do their paws shake , hearts race and make them long for the days of still being on BPMs tet again  ?

Good post. Especially the mic drop at the end.

I know the kid does, the coach I hear is a pretty good guy. This Friday should be fun as the Tide come to the Hornets Nest. Always a fun atmosphere for these two programs for their Jamboree.

Ha! Thanks man. Cant confirm or deny.

I have been saying this for year, but this " Jamboree " is the best around IMO. I am not sure why other programs have not adopted this model for several reasons. First, the programs are not having to split a share of the money with schools that do not buy any tickets. Second, you are not herded through that field like cattle and all the kids get a chance to play. Varsity, JV, and Freshmen. Lastly, all the money stays in Gibson county. Both programs are really well ran and have an established history of playing winning football.

Agree 100%. It allows both teams to work on things they need to work on and keeping the money "in house" is the best way to go. Both communities as you stated support their teams. Not only in football, but in all sports. It also allows the bands to perform so even more parent/grandparents are there for revenue purposes. Definitely one of if not the best Jamboree setups in West Tennessee.

I saw this post on the Henry Co. Quarterback Club’s Facebook page.

Patriots will have an open practice/game simulation with Trenton-Peabody tomorrow night (posted yesterday) at Patriot Stadium. Parents and fans are encouraged to attend. There is no admission fee.

Grove will begin at 4:30pm

Varsity will begin at 6:30pm

Is this happening?

Since Peabody and Henry Co. have 2 of the best football programs in rural west Tennessee, I’d love to hear how the Tide and Patriots fare against each other.

I will admit that I haven't read all 18 pages of this thread, so if this has already been mentioned, I apologize.

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
