Is Hardin Valley still going to be bad this year?

Saw HVA in a 7 v 7 and no shade to the previous group, but it is very apparent that the coaching is 2x better if not more.  New HC has put together a pretty good staff.  May be to early to compete late, but this team will win.

Isn't this the 5A/6A thread?

Farragut and Central will be okay, but not the best in the area.  Just like last year.

If I'm not mistaken Farragut was a 4 seed, got hot in the playoffs and made a run. I don't see them being an improved team this year losing #15 their only deep threat last year.

As far as 6A goes I don’t think their hasn’t been outside of Oakland. I think Maryville has been the only team out of the Knoxville area in the semi since it was started.

Bearden was in semi against Smyrna --- I believe it was in '07. These were really the two best teams in 6A that year that I saw.

Bearden has never been in a 6A semi. Maybe 5A, but 6A they've never come close.

The 6 public school classification didn't start until 2009, so in 2007 5A was still the largest classification. ToMAYto/ToMAHto.

    • Siegel Middle School is looking for a Head Wrestling Coach. This will be the 3rd year that the school has had a program, but the Stars have had a middle school team for a while now. This is program is established and has a club team (Stars) feeding it with wrestlers.    Siegel High School is looking for an assistant coach. Again, this program is growing with talent every year. This past year we had 2 state placers.    If interested you can send an email to starstnwrestlingclub@gmail.com or freemand@rcschools.net

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
