Farragut has 2 coaches who were former Maryville players...David Sweetland & Kyle Harris. Both are great young men and I'm sure are excellent coaches. Kyle's youngest brother Cody (senior) plays safety/receiver for Maryville,as did Kirk and Kyle. Next year will be strange without a Harris on the field. David Sweetland did coach 1, maybe 2 years and is remembered by all the Maryville faithful for his playing days. He was a lot of fun to watch! Good luck to both young men.

From all indication of what I have read/seen, this should be a shoot-out since Maryville has struggled greatly at times to stop the run and Farragut (supposedly) has trouble stopping the pass.

That probably means we're looking at a 7-6 final score. :roflol:

Lost ol' Dad - You are correct. Luckily Murvul got the master at setting those lines of scores. If you have any questions on who should beat who by how much, look no further than ol' Starz himself. (I hear he's who the Fat Jack calls for his insider info.)

yes farragut has had trouble stopping the pass early in games but the defense normally stiffens up in the 2nd half...also expect farragut's fans to make a difference they're loud, proud, and very obnoxious the bus has to pass where the seniors tailgate so its fun to see some of the players reactions to it..but itll be exciting

I was crunching some numbers for curiousity's sake....not sure what this means other than it will be a good game. Against common opponents this year (West, OR, heritage, bearden, and catholic), Maryville scored 160 pts and Farragut scored 162. Maryville allowed 45 pts and Farragut allowed 54. I think the biggest conclusion is I have too much time on my hands.

Two great staffs and teams. This should be a classic. Farragut will have to be prepared for the famous GQ trick plays that they practice every single day in practice. When they pull one out, it works. I agree that the key will be if MHS can stop Purty, Van Dyne, and Hudson on the ground. FHS offense like MHS is very balanced, but the FHS running game is very powerful. Purty gets stronger as the game goes on. This will be an awesome game.

Maryville fans, not much seating on the visitor side at FHS, especially if you bring the band, but there is room for overflow on the Farragut side because it is huge.

    • Never in my life have I seen a team in a scrimmage against their own defense look so lost and confused. The defense didn’t look much better, the coaching staff can’t keep their anger together, not only with the players but also with their other coaches. I feel awful for those players. None of them look like they wanted or should’ve been out there, but for the grown men on the sidelines acting like fools, it's just embarrassing to the Farragut name and reputation. I now see why they chose not to live stream this on their YouTube channel.
    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
