This was a hard-hitting game between 2 very proud programs defined by the Milan turnovers inside their own 10 and Alcoa taking advantage of them. What impressed me most about the game was the class of the PLAYERS from both teams. There were no cheap shots,no

mouthing, and I lost count of how many times I saw players from both teams help each other up anf pat each other on the back-side after a play!VERY VERY CLASSY!Congratulations to players on both teams.

My thoughts are -

1. Alcoa got up 14-0 and Rankin knew Milan couldn't score two touchdowns on them just like I knew it and he said then he wasn't going to give them an opportunity to get back in the game. That's why Alcoa only had 169 yards offense. That was Robert E. Neyland football being played. Did Alcoa even attempt a pass after Talent overthrew Robinson in the 2nd quarter?

2. Alcoa is just that good. I'd like to have seen them play Beech or Columbia last night.

3. If Milan wants to practice for the F5 they need to go to Memphis (or Paris) and schedule a one of the good larger teams with good skill players. On both interceptions it was fairly obvious that the QB didn't realize the speed difference between Alcoa and others. Milan owns West TN. But they've got to change to take the next step.

This was Huffy's post after Milan's win against Mighty York....

I'm sorry. I also called a bounce pass on a wide receiver screen as a trick play when the officials let it go. By the way, it is easy to pass the ball from 20 to 20 if you are a good team. You guys are and you did. However, it is another to do it the redzone, and you guys could not and did not. Lots of great excuses though. "We did not execute." "If it weren't for those pesky turnovers." Our Defense had nothing to do with it. We are just a bunch of scrubs that got lucky I guess. Well we are still undefeated and playing for the championship. Yes you got dominated in the 2nd half. I call getting outscored 29-0 a total domination. Deal with it and move on. It is basketball season for you now.

Heh.....Sound familiar? KARMA.

Good game Milan.

EVERY championship team needs breaks here and there. We got them this year.....again.

Pretty decent game. Milan's fumbles were tough but the Alcoa O/D line dominated this game. Milan's defense held strong, but it was too much F5 and not enough Milan game plan to make them get away from their strengths. Alcoa's D line and linebackers put pressure on everything Milan was trying to do. I would have like to see Milan pass a little more in non-passing situations as that seemed to be open. However, when F5 knew it was coming, they shut it down. Alcoa's fundamentals were excellent from everyone that took the field. Congratulations to both squads for excellent years. The best team won.

Congratulation to Milan for a great season!

Alcoa folks,

You guys represent BC very well year after year. Not just with great football, but great fans who support their kids, but mostly for having great kids who show a lot of class on and off the field in victory and defeat. Congratulation on the newest gold ball! Can't wait until week 1 next year...hopefully, it will be the clash of 2 state champions. MHS has to take of business tonight.

Milan did play Paris in a scrimmage this year and lost but it was close. I think Milan should work in some more passing in their game. Short passes would be great if you can find an elusive, speedy WR to go across the middle and make the catch. Congrats to Alcoa. I expected this result but didn't expect a shutout. TO's were a killer. Still would like to see an Alcoa vs MUS matchup. Would probably be the downfall for the Mighty F5! IMO of course.

GOOD MORNING...from the snowy mountains of East TN!!!

Oh my Bulldogs....I'm not sure where your butterfingers came from yesterday....but you can take this an excuse if you wish but that was NOT Milan that played the past 14 games. Guess they got intimidated by the F5.....Oh well, I proudly take my silver ball back to the west!

As for Big Daddy...he's NOT an Alcoa fan, and he's still bitter that Milan put his precious York Dragons out last week. Sorry bud, but give it up!!!! You got beat by the better team, and so did Milan. Difference is...we get a shiny silver ball....you get a plaque saying you made it to round 4...that is neither shiny or a ball! So suck it up and move on.....you have no dawg...or tornado in this race!!!!! You give Alcoa fans a bad name....and you're not even an Alcoa fan!

Without Milan turnovers in Alcoa territory, this could have been a great game! But....Milan did turn it over, so it turned out to be a good game. Milan's D turned out to be awesome against the Mighty F5. Just wondering, how many times Alcoa had to punt on first string before this game???

Alcoa was classy as always, and their true fans have been very gracious on here and know that without those gimme's by Milan, (which is just a part of the game :thumb: ) Alcoa had the best game of the year on their hands! As for the not scoring, Milan had the choice to get 3 and be just like Loudon, but our coach knew that 3 points wouldn't win the game....so why not just go for it? We gambled, we lost, we move on. IMO Milan moved the ball pretty good....as long as it wasn't inside the red zone! LoL Last year we had like negative 5 first downs....this year we had 11! More than Alcoa....but Alcoa didn't have to have them really when Milan gives it to them on the 8 yard line! Anyway...a loss is easier to suck up when you know you just got beat by one of the top 100 programs in the entire country! At least for me anyway.....but then again read my disclaimer! lol

I'm looking forward to seeing kids from both Alcoa and Milan playing on Saturdays next fall! Mr. Toney is a bullet....especially on the outside!

Congrats to Alcoa for #6......Congrats to Milan for a great season! P.S. Gotta give props to the cheerleaders for their banner. All of Milan fans read that, chuckled, and said "Well yeah, yeah that's pretty much true". LoL

Alcoa is STILL the BEAST from the East, and Milan is STILL the BEST from the West!!!

BullDAwgGirl you are too funny with that disclaimer...Milan played a great game, especially the D. I could see the pages that Milan took from Alcoa's book  Also for the doubters, please understand that Alcoa came and did what they plan to do. Everybody is so used to the flash and dash teams of yore (including some Alcoa fans). Alcoa's gameplan "Pound the rock" Opponents tentative game plan "Stop the run" Good game, great rivalry. See ya next year

Wow APB, you are like a CSI  Huf was so pitiful last night making the same excuses that he accuse York fans of making. I grew tired of it so I went and played Madden 10. Great investigative work :thumb:

I saw MUS, I give them an edge on depth, I don't recall seeing a single two-way player. However as far as team play, from what I saw of MUS, Alcoa is the better team. But like the answer to the old Tootsie Pop question: The world will never know  Congratulations F5 :thumb:
