Ole RIP and a couple of my hired hands reached out to some of them TSSAA Gents to get the official ruling on this topic that you seem to bring up every other hour. The ruling is if a team has to cancel because of COVID and it is a NON Region game, that team gets a NO CONTEST and the other team gets to count a WIN. If the team has to cancel and it is a REGION game, the team that had to cancel gets the L and the other team gets the W. So with that being said, take your W and TC will take a....well NOTHING (No W or L). Call it scared, call it running, or call it a Pandemic Mastermind...BUT Please move on. Maybe if Dana coached football, you guys would win a State Championship! Toot Toot!!!!

I think Sgt. Southtowner suffers from PTSD from his last campaign of last year. He hasn't written home nor has he requested any possum butter that I know of.

I can agree on that… definitely a contender for the number 2 spot. However, I would bet whoever comes out of the west is 3 or 4 TD’s better than anyone in the east.

One of the many reasons I don't have much faith in polls. They're great for watercooler chat, CoachT banter. Other than that, no so much. Playoffs usually sort things out.

Swap Westview and TC. And then swap Huntingdon and Riverside. I won't put Westview at #1 since Meigs has been there, done that the last couple years, but that will be an intriguing game. That's my pick for state. Huntingdon beat Riverside by multiple scores so it makes zero sense to have Riverside ranked ahead of us. I wouldn't put us any higher, though. I don't know much about #8-10, so sure...

It doesn’t matter what these polls say anyway. Gordy, Upperman, TC nor H2O is going to win a Gold Ball this year. Are y’all better than 7… yes, but to get tied up in polls is useless at this point. It all works itself out in November anyway.

Polls are a shot in the dark. How many of the sports writers have seen all these teams play? None. Ws & Ls, stats, are all they have to go by. Keep a few grains of salt handy.

I think I disagree but I could be wrong. If OR beats Karns and Campbell County and is beaten or wins over DB they will be 4 - 6 or 5 - 5, and EARN NOT SNEAK into a Second Place Region finish. The DB game is actually meaningless if OR beats Karns and CCHS. I have no idea who they would play in the playoffs so I will go with what you said. Best of luck to your team! RWR!

We have a two good football teams here, and I would agree that Oakland has played a tougher schedule, but this is the Battle of the Boro. The Dale will be playing the same kind of physical ball as CPA.

No. They didn't play Powell when they were #1 and they don't play West until Week 11. And West plays Maryville in Week 10, so West may or may not still be ranked #1 in week 11. Powell fell from the #1 spot after their week 2 loss to Maryville. Just depends on the mood of the voters what happens if West loses to Maryville. Page and Powell were tied at #2 last week. We'll see what the poll looks like when it comes out later today.

Y’all are funny. Waverly is not the best team in the world like y’all make yourself out to be. I think those floods did something to some of y’all’s brains and homes. Just because WH beat them and Fairview don’t make them the best team either. When someone beats y’all or plays y’all close y’all get on here and say it was cause if drops or cause of bad snaps. Y’all act like Waverly is the best team in the state and y’all are average at best. Get ready cause the Cubs are about to give y’all another reason to make excuses on here. WH Waverly and Fairview are all overrated. The Cubs are about to be beating all of y’all punks.

Seems several HC supporters have thrown the towel in, not only on the season, but on the staff as well. While I understand the frustration, I believe you have a good one in Counce. This team has underachieved for sure, but it looked to me the problem was more of a matter of the players. What I personally saw was a team that didn’t have the same fire as the previous HC teams I have seen. That could be a reflection of coaching in some situations, but I can’t believe it is with HC. There have been some key players missing in several games (as I understand it), or this team could easily be 6-2. Circle the wagons, win the next two games, and make a run in November. As bad as the year has been, I still believe HC can beat any team in 5A if the breaks go your way instead of against you.

I know one kid specifically on the 2018 team that started all season long and helped us get to the State Championship game and he was a Junior at the time, guess what? The coaches sat him and started the backup who was a Senior.

Sam here. HC class of 2000. On this thread after the Paducah game I said these coaches have been exposed this year. You hit the nail right on the head about the talent to just win games. I really noticed a problem in the 2018 state game when we had plenty of talent but the play calls weren’t working at all and it seems like they just kept beating that same dead horse. Same thing happened when we lost to Dyer county in the playoffs. We had a great team. But they got wise to us running up the middle. What was our play calls? Up the middle 3rd down no gain. 4th down. Same thing up the middle. And the crowd is just losing their minds how we all see it and the ones paid to just keep crippling our kids with the same thing that just hasn’t worked. Nothing will change because there is some really good talent coming up. But we get exposed in the big games

I'm a HC graduate and love following the Big Red football games but this is as bad as it gets for HC. I'm just going to say facts about what's going on and what everyone else is seeing. When we had Coach Gaddis, he didn't care what the last names were for the players and he played the best players to give his team the best chance to win. We have a major coaching problem and bad coaching decisions made Offensively. That team has way too much talent up and down the sidelines with most of it being on the sidelines. It shouldn't matter if you're a Freshman or a Senior but the best talent and players should be playing instead of having to wait for the Senior to leave and graduate. If I'm the Head Coach or the Offensive Coordinator, I'm putting all my playmakers on the field at the same time instead of a couple talented players with this group and another couple talented players with another group. Just bad coaching and bad decision making and it's time to do something differently because what is being done isn't working. I will say since 2016 the head coach has been blessed with great talent bailing him out producing winning seasons and now it's caught up with him and it seems that now they're having to coach and can't get the job done. The best in the game today is Nick Saban and we all know if his players aren't getting the job done, he will shake things up without being afraid of what the Boosters will say or think because it's about winning games for his program and his players. Pee Wee football coaches don't get paid to lose but middle school and above coaches get paid to do a job. The bottom line, it's time to make changes.

Ask Coalfield if Covid is real and should be taken seriously. They lost their head coach to it and an assistant coach. You don't play with people's lives. That is why the precautions are in place.

Congrats to Marion players and coaches on the win. Tyner could not find their rhythm offensively almost all night - props to MC d - thought they tackled especially well on the edges and in space. Our kids settled down on D after going down 10-0 and most competed with great effort. Momentum and confidence is so critical for young athletes - thought we were going to get some if we had punched the ball in with first drive of 2nd half. Score there and it is 10-8 or 10-6 and who knows how it plays out. Marion was well prepared- had more energy and came hard all night - congrats to them. No clue what a poster is saying about disrespect by posters and General Forrest- I pray that God will take that unfounded hate out of your soul or you will find some other inner city team on the state to troll and hate on.

They have played a good ball game tonight other than the penalties, dropped passes and turnovers. That's nitpicking. Very proud of our group. Good win tonight for the Warriors. Great job all around. @TynerRamFan You fellas have some grit. Going to be tough sledding in the future against you guys. Thanks for coming and have a safe trip back. MC's O-line is as good as advertised. Tyner has to settle down on Offense and score each time because MC is eating up the clock.

As of last week SC was being looked at by TSSAA for an illegal player. Media has been involved. Not sure anything comes of it, but rumor has it that at least two schools turned it in.
