  4. Dang! We lost to Karns and the Beavers deserve a boat load of respect for winning. They could have quit down 21 - 7 but they came back and wore OR down in the second half. Nice job Karns. All the talk about changing the Offense was just hot air. Believe it or not but we will probably still make the playoffs. We have got to stay behind this team because it is the only football team at Oak Ridge High School. Not much of a reason but it is all I got. I am down but I will stand behind the team because of players like 13, 7, 33, 38 and some others. God, please let us not get killed by DB. I really hate Kingsport. Amen.

  9. I'm use to the offense looking lost.Ive never seen them look so lost in all 3 aspects. It really is sad to see an Oak Ridge team look this bad.God bless the handful of kids who play hard and deserve better

  13. Hey y’all, when it’s “up to the players” to work out, this is what you get. Until changes are made, it’s gonna be the same ‘o sh$& in OR. When you can’t effectively run the ball against Karns, changes need to be made, from the top down.

  14. Ive never seen a team with less situational awareness in my life. Our poor QB just is oblivious to pressure and when you cant force it and when you gotta just throw it.Our defense on 3rd and 19 will v line to middle and give the RB the sideline when he had no shot up middle.SPT guys in lala land.Coaches giving ball to players who dont have 30 yards all yr and not to 14,7,1 and 13.Its just as ugly as u can imagine from a coaching standpoint.

  15. Just the worst Oak Ridge team ever and with some great players.13,7,14,1,38,33,22 all really good high school players and we are so bad.How could any coach on the team feel like they have done a good job.Put 14 or 13 at QB for rest of year.I hate it for the kids who work year around and actually care

  22. I think the realignment really benefits the teams in Region 2 and 3 that are coming from the old West Region the most. This is going to allow them to send more athletes to state as the region isn't going to be so crowded. This will only help those teams grow as well. I can speak from experience that this can be used as a recruiting tool when walking up and down the halls of our schools. Kids want to join successful programs. Here at Siegel, we went from having 2 seniors returning to now having 16-20 girls on the team. The girls at our school have heard us constantly promote our State Medalist on the announcements and all over our social media and they've been showing up wanting to join. I do believe that Region 4 will still be the toughest top to bottom this season. However I do think the realignment allowing for teams to get out from under the shadow of these historical "giants" of girls wrestling and the growth of the sport will eventually help start to even out. May take a few years, but girls wrestling is growing and the competitiveness of these up and coming teams is going to continue to show the more we grow the sport. I know for a fact that Blackman, Oakland, Riverdale, and Siegel should all have mostly full teams in Region 3 along with Independence who typically has decent numbers. Then there is Cleveland, who is the top dog in boys wrestling, and I have no doubt that Coach Bosken will have his girls ready to compete in Region 2. Anyone who knows girls wrestling knows Piper Fowler. She is an extremely tough young wrestlers. Cleveland will definitely put a good group of girls together alongside her. Tullahoma (another former West Region Team) will be in Region 2 as well. There's another great group of girls led by a great coach, Jenna Morris, and should return to the fighting form they were a few years ago. I am just really excited to see how this all plays out. We can predict all day, but at then end of it all it comes down to what these young ladies do on the mat. I have no doubt that the coaches will do their best to prepare their teams for when that time comes. Get out your popcorn. It's going to be a good year!

  24. @Swarm I misspoke. You, as stated earlier, are one of my fav eposters here. You actually get the humor component and I always enjoy your stuff. At this point feel free to go off on PP2 and I apologize for trying to hold you back earlier. @Pizzpatriot2 i dont make the rules but it would be nice for you not to turn a decent playoff thread into your typical BS. you asked me a good question earlier and I answered it. believe me i dont fit into a box so i get it but good grief dude. theres 8 teams gonna be playing for something post season in R5 and R6. can we try to discuss that?!

  28. Yeah 2011 we were very fast that year and an easy 40 points better than Cloudland and escaped with a 12-0 win on the worst field I had ever seen.Ole 91 told me that was their only hope was to "SLOW" us down.It rained on that field 24 hours straight. lol.It almost worked. The next year at GB we had 40 on them at half!

  29. I've laid out the numbers of returning medalists by new region. Obviously this upcoming year will be very interesting to watch with the new weight classes, the realignment into 4 regions, and the growth of girls wrestling across the state. There are new programs popping up all over the state and programs that have grown from just a handful of girls to full teams. There will be a lot of shake up at the region level, but until this season happens and the dust settles, I believe we still have to give the nod to Region 4 (previously part of the West Region) for the job they do and the success they have had. It will be interesting to watch it all unfold this season. As the newly elected Women's Director of TNUSA, I am thrilled that girls wrestling has grown so much lately and I hope it continues to grow and get more competitive across the state; not just competitive in pocket areas like it has been in the past. 30. Thats normal for them, any KFL team that has a winning record they will pick to beat OR, And if OR wins, you will have to look in the obituaries for the write-up, but if Karns wins, it will knock World War III off the front page,

  33. Whoever is in the semi-finals south of us will be the one who represents the east. The teams up here have nothing for you all. There is one anomaly to this situation though if Cloudland does make it and they host a game on Roan Mountain and the conditions are not very good a fast team will not fare well on that field!

  34. I'm not pujo but I firmly believe Cloudland has a very good chance at a Semi final birth.Their strength is their line play and RBs.CF like us are not strong up front. One of us maybe able to out athlete them but neither one of us can run it like Cland.

  35. Maybe so with more reps.I wouldve loved to see him after a yr or more of playing defense.I will say he can still be a D1 RB.I think as FR and SO he was on an upward path at RB and got D1 offers because of it.Then as a JR he seemed to not get better or take the next step we all thought he would.Combine that with this years nightmare of an offense and people like me kinda wrote him off as a big time RB.But to be fair he really hasnt had much of a shot to prove it at RB this yr.We really need him on defense and with 2 other good RBs we dont need him running it 20 plus times a game. And our offense and blocking has been so bad the best of the best would have a hard time.I would love for the new offense to give him a better shot at showing what he can do before seasons end.For some reason I think he learned from some mistakes and will put up big numbers if we give him a shot.He seems to be getting back to running downhill and punishing tacklers.I hope he shines and his hard work is rewarded.

  36. I sure hope Rhea County and Oak Ridge don't meet in Round One. Over the years I have come to like and respect Rhea Co. Their posters have class.

  37. I think they can back it up this year. They control the line of scrimmage and honestly thats both our weaknesses.CF nor GB can line up and run it at you, they can.We will see usually either one of us can out athlete them, just not sure at this point.

  38. If we dont rt I'm afraid this coach will turn us into a SB/WB/Harr type team.If we win out in the region it will be because the Defense and GB talent! Our offensive strategy is killing our D and he does the O and wont get any feedback from anyone else.Im afraid it will cause the kids to not want to play for him.

  45. I agree Rt but dang what a mess last week.I cant remember us ever falling apart so quick. It makes me very worried about our young team to see how they react this week.We have alot of talent but our leadership within the team and from our staff just isnt very good.

  46. I tell you what if the fight was in the stands I would take Squatch by 14 however these dang kids aren’t tough nowadays. Worrying about their Tik-Tacs and SnapTalks all the time. They need to be concentrated on winning football games. I tried to get coach to meet with me this weekend because we know that old Giles coach is a cheater. If you can’t beat them then join them, right? Coach said he was too busy this week watching film from that train wreck of a game. I was so made I only drunk 4 cases of Natty Light this weekend instead of the normal 8. I heard a mom in the stands Friday night saying Giles will go to the semis. I asked that woman to get back in the kitchen and make us some sandwiches and quit talking nonsense. I think The Squatch keep it close for 2 quarters then fall behind because these boys want even do snuff during the game.
