  1. In my many years of going to ball games throughout this glorious state of ours, I’ve encountered some really good concession stands, and some that are not so good. However, over the past few years, it’s been harder and harder to find a good concession stand at ball games. There are a few good ones left though. So without further ado I’ll list my favorites and encourage feedback from others on this topic. White County has the best BBQ sandwiches Clay County has the best popcorn and cookies However, Livingston Academy has by far the best overall concession stand in middle Tn. You can get anything from pizza to banana pudding and most everything in between. Hotdogs hamburgers cookies candy and popcorn of course. They also serve Coke products which is even better! All the things that are good for us! Haha

  2. I honestly cannot remember a time where a player did not do this. And in my opinion it's a great sign of sportsmanship.

  5. At the school board meeting tonight the head coaching position was discussed. There has been a total of 17 applicants thus far. One being from California and another one from Oklahoma. Then two locally and the others from across Tennessee. So you can't tell me that out of all those applicants that no one has what we need to advance our program. I just hope they do their due diligence and vet each one accordingly. It's bound to be a lot of experience in those applications. Hopefully we'll get something that we desperately need. In my opinion the last two years have been kind of blah especially with our play calling on both sides of the ball. There will be more applicants because it's not closing until this Friday then interviews will start. Stay tuned we'll see if we continue to get by or finally choose to live again.

  9. You also have Douglass that's probably the best team in Tennessee this year (all classes) with a record of 23-0 and they have an enrollment of 666 according to Coach T.

  10. How does Father Ryan conduct its wrestling program? Does it just begin training promising young catholic boys in elementary school, train them through middle school and high school, and live off the generosity of the church and volunteers for coaching and support? Obviously, there is no financial support for wrestling, recruiting, or coaching, right?

  14. On the main staff? Is there a backup staff? Kids threatening to jump ship and boosters getting tired of constantly being hit up for money, and losing support from higher ups in the building. You all may finish first, or you may end up down there with HVA. High ceiling/ low floor

  16. Wasn’t that game we played against AE part of a tournament that was played at OR though? I don’t know if they’ll be on the schedule or not, to be honest. It wouldn’t bother me if they were. They’re good competition. Cherry is outstanding.

  17. To Waco point it's not about the enrollment it's about sed talent at the school. Look up John Marshall a small 2a school in VA with 741 students finished as national champions last year, they're currently ranked 32nd in the nation with 3 losses to other national ranked teams by 6pts or less. George Wythe a 1a school in VA with 461 kids beat Dorman SC with 3700 students in the Arby's Classic, Dorman won state last year in SC, then George Wythe turned around and lost by 1 to Mentor OH with 2600 students. I don’t have a clue who's going to win state in basketball in TN private or public but I'm sure it'll be a school with 2000 kids an John Marshall with 741 will have a running clock against whoever that team is, like Waco said it's not about the number it's about the talent, no matter how many kids you have, you can only have 5 on the court at a time with 1 ball. Then on the football side of it Alcoa with around 600 kids are somewhere in the top 5 public schools every year

  20. It is a feat in itself to make it three times as some never even make it once. I could see how the community there may want someone new to come in so they can take them over the hump, but it may be worse than before so be careful.

  21. I take it back! This is the worst take in the history of this board! If you really believe that Page had more talent than West 2 years ago, that says a lot about your abilities. I doubt you will ever be hired as a talent scout. Might need to stay at a few more Holiday Inn Expresses Eli! What a ridiculous statement. It was a running clock for goodness sake!

  23. Just like Tennessee having 3 state champions per weight classification is ridiculous. It's nothing more than a way to make more people feel good about themselves. Blame the YMCA, because they are the ones that began the trend of passing out participation trophies. Back in the day youth had to win a championship to receive a trophy.

  24. The 2022 West team was absolutely loaded with talent. Definitely had a better team than Page that year. 2023 was probably more even.

  25. That many classes just looks silly IMO. Maybe im too old but having 8 state champions in the same weight class is ridiculous. I come from a time period where there was a single state champion from each weigh class, and being a state champion meant quite a bit. Im not saying thats the right way... but now, with so many classes in some of these states, its turning into participation trophies. Just my two cents.

  27. When you get your age, this is all you have. A keyboard warrior. You can hide for a while and when a new of group of posters get on CoachT you can start this all over again. I live in the present not 40-50 years ago. I would wager any amount you have that Coaches such as Buck, Dickie, Bobby, Charlie, and George would NEVER get on here and brag about their accomplishments. ONLY YOU!

  29. Ha! That's not at all uncommon... lots of Commissioners feel like the school system falls under their complete control, board, director, and all employees, and that their budget be subject to line item veto from them. Couldn't be more mistaken. Schools are funded by Federal, State, and County, and the Board Members are elected officials just as the Commissioners. Playing nice is always best, but sometimes lines have to be drawn in the sand to avoid confusion.

  32. What are you talking about? Everybody at Bearden High School is happy for where the football team is going and every athletic team. Nobody is upset, and the booster club is fine, just like it’s been every other year. I wonder where you’re hearing these rumors, and when I say main staff, I mean the varsity staff, there may be a few assistants that may jump ship to go coach at Central. I can’t blame them for the better opportunity, but you’re just rambling at this point; you have no idea what you’re talking about, and it’s kind of funny.
