Thanks everyone for all the kind words. Been a very bad day to be woken up at 5.30 to hear someone on the other line telling me my wife has passed away. I've known for a couple of weeks things were not looking good. I found her Monday Morning unconscoius and called an ambulance and I was told lastnight things were looking much better but she had a heart attack and passed on this morning around 4 a.m. There were many times over the past three years I couldn't go to the ballgames because I didn't want to leave her alone. I know she is in a better place as to be in the pain she has been in the past few years.
Congrats Tornadoes! Incredible effort by Alcoa. Jahvin Carter is simply amazing. I’ve watched a lot of basketball in Blount County and he is the best player ever at Alcoa and the best high school player in Blount County history, imo. His accomplishments, both individually and for his team, are off the charts.
Congratulations to Alcoa. Jahvon Carter is a great player. Douglas had no one who could guard him. Other players for Alcoa stepped up. I think Rick Barnes should have offered Jahvon Carter.
One big different is cost.
Webb is a great school, but is ony realistic for the very upper earners in the area.
Concord Christian, GCA, and a couple of others are realistic options for middle to upper middle famies, especially if vouchers are enacted.
Sometimes Barn what we want and what God knows is best are two different things, and I pray that He gives you the strength and wisdom to endure His way and to understand that we're not meant to understand. I rarely participate in these "prayer" threads because I (not knocking anyone else at all) somehow feel that making it public isn't how I need to approach it, but I feel lead to say it this time. I realize that no words will lessen your loss and heartbreak, but if there were I'd love for you to hear them today. May God bless you and yours in your time of need.
Which venue would be better as a host? Both good arenas centrally located, Tech’s gym looks better and more updated than MTSU when watching the D-2 tourney a couple weeks ago.
The rebs are lucky to have such fans…credit to you rw. I watched online. It looked like we were as good as Cookeville, but not that day. Great season for those 2 seniors and all. Best team in ET.
Never said it was…?
Death eventually comes to everyone. There is no age requirement for death, and it comes in every form. You just have to keep on living. Eventually, when it's your time, you’ll be able to go meet the people you love and have missed so much.
Sad that all of us on here have figured out all that is going on at Chatt Prep. I get that they may be playing by the “rules”, but sad that so many kids across the state had their seasons end because of these situations. I’m guessing the TSSAA won’t do anything about it, until it starts messing with the big schools
Nothing but class here bro. Cookeville good team and their fans showed out today. But a few on this board dismissing what I was saying bout Indy will not lose it twice. I'm here to cash out. All In good fun
Can’t argue with that. I sat with the family of #1 of Ridgeway both nights. They were a fun bunch of people. The Fulton players consoled our players at the end of the game was a class move as well. Fulton is pure class.
The school I pull for, Hampton, was moved from A to AA this year however if we could only count boys we would be below Chattanooga prep numbers. Heck I'm sure there's lots of schools that would be in single a if they could only count the boy population. It's just not a level playing field. Period.
The principle and AD should be FIRED. It's ridiculous, and a complete lack of adequate leadership. Knox Central, Rhea Co, Lenoir City, Austin East, Fulton, etc..etc... have all went through the hiring process with a great since of urgency with a priority on winning, and program upgrades.
Oh wow, I gotta say I never knew y’all were actually up in age. I thought you were either Maryville students or just parents who wanted to voice their opinions on this website. Of course, I know a lot of you are OGs of the website. You guys have really seen it all. Now, I don’t know if I look silly being a college student on this website. But I guess it’s just passion for a school. I’d imagine yalls alumni or just local school, but im going way over topic here. I wish him the best. I can’t imagine what he’s going through.
There's a saying that says that more things change the more they stay the same.
I'm told that baseball is having similar issues as football did, and there is a common denominator.
Parents - if you can't keep your mouths shut and let your kids play and the coaches coach, just stay your butt at home. You aren't doing anybody other than your own ego any good.
What's the odds of that considering we only have three (the other being Chittum) in the whole tournament? I would assume these two have trained together at various points in their life, maybe.
As far as a prediction, both are defensive wrestlers looking to counter, could be a 2-1 type of deal. I give Flynn the advantage as he has wrestled far better competition this year. Palmer has looked off at various points in the season, perhaps battling an injury or two. Lost to App State's Bellis twice. Rectified that when it mattered most. Regardless Palmer finishes his career as a two time qualifier, not bad, and great by recent TN D1 college wrestling standards.
