Let's give it a little time guys.    This is his first year as head coach.   Plus its not like DB lost to local Tri-cities cupcakes, Greeneville and OR are top programs in their respective classes.

LOL! Like we have a choice. This is not all on the "head coach" by the way. This has been coming for several years. We are now getting the fruits or their "non-labor" Christian just isn't head coach material. Not many assistant coaches are. Plus he is getting zero help from his good ole boy staff. And by the way, DB is now one of those "Tri-Cities cup cakes". As a matter of fact Im not sure if DB could beat any of those cup cakes. Central maybe?

Central would probably love to give it a shot this year

I say this out of love for a fellow tradition rich all around sports program, let the game against Oak Ridge rest.  I HATE to read the negative DB posts. However, there are other people who love to see DB fans  upset. Don't let your haters have their day. Be proud Indians and things will turn around in time.

Sorry, if this came out preachy, I just hope things turn around for one of our best rivals.

Great game for our young Wildcats!  I thought we did a good job of moving the football.  The Defense was ok, but got better as the game wore on. Great to see us force and take advantage of the turnovers.  Herbert had his best game as a Wildcat on both offense and defense.  2 awesome catches by Pendegrass and hopefully the first of many touchdown catches by Jonathon Stewart.  There is still a lot of room to improve, but last night's game showed a lot of progress.

As for DB, mistakes were just killers.  The first interception should have been an easy completion for a 1st down.  In the 2nd quarter, a holding penalty and botched snap killed a drive would have made for a tighter game. Overall though, our team speed and experience on defense were the difference makers in the game.

Do not need to be over confident for Campbell County next week.  Our staff knows how to defend against their offense.  We just need to be prepared to go hard.

RWR!!

It gets better guys. Just 6 years ago y'all had a great team with Foreman and Swafford. Really good team. We (OR) went through this around 10 years ago, so I can relate. DB has too much pride and tradition to stay down too long.

You guys just don't get it. You have to live in this town to know.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
