I sure do wish Alcoa was playing Oakland and Greeneville instead of Blackmen next year..........Reality check!

Two schools in East Tennessee over the last two plus decades that have told the story 90% or more of the time.Maryville and Alcoa. That's if you want to know where your program stands. We split a few years ago with Alcoa  and to be honest it was a less then powerful  year for both when the other team won.I'd without queston say Maryville beats everyone in this part of the state nearly every year and that's just a fact. The second best option to that is Alcoa.NOW,all of that said and just talking about this years Greeneville team.I wouldn't have had a problem putting money on the Devils against any team in the state. Not saying several coundn't have beat us,but just from what I've seen this year .This is the IFL and none of us will ever know.Once again to all of the champions, congratulations and enjoy being champions because that is also a fact and nobody can take it away  or make it any less important with an IFL thread .See the source image

I am just enjoying all the experts on here trying to take little ole 3A Alcoa out of the equation. Knock yourselves out baby, it’s all IFL now.

Little ole 3A Alcoa has 684 kids according to a front page article in the Daily Times last week which 28% are tuition students. Wonder how many of them were football players that should have been at Heritage. What's funny is that Alcoa Elementary only had 8% tuition students. How could those numbers be so different, what does the high school have to offer the elementary don't. DUH!!!!!  If Bernard Childress did his job right and put a multiplier rule in for every tuition student football player that adds 20 students to the enrollment then you might see some fairness among all the schools instead of a big fat pig taking advantage and running over the lesser quality schools.

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
