How are these decided? Some approved and some denied. What gives here?

Politics and connections will likely get a team approved. Pretty much simple. I would like to know why teams do get approved and why teams get denied. And if someone would like to share that, please feel free.

I'll give you an example here.

Millington is located in Shelby County, and is placed in Region 7 in cross country. Millington requested to move from Region 7 to Region 8 (A region with everybody in Memphis and Shelby County). However, the TSSAA denied that request. I would like to find out why they declined Millington's request to move from Region 7 (a non Shelby County region) to Region 8 (all teams from Shelby County).

I agreed, and that's why I thought it was odd seeing these regions formed when the TSSAA released it. For Scott's Hill, I doubt y'all will get a good gate from Ripley (too far), Bolivar, and Liberty. The question marks will be Covington, Dyersburg, and Westview. The only legitimate gate will be McNairy Central.

So it's a definite must that the Lions schedule both Riverside and Adamsville on the schedule as well. I hope both Riverside and Adamsville can schedule y'all because they're in a 8 team region as well. I'm sure Riverside/Lexington will be a matchup along with Adamsville/Hardin County.

Already in talks with Lexington, and hopefully Riverside/Adamsville will follow. Those three are good gates, but even if all come together only 1 one year and 2 the next will pinch our budget. You're right about Bolivar...played a home/home the last two years, and you could count their fans on fingers and toes last season. Guess we'll just do what we always do, and make do with what we have...at least our home crowd turns out no matter what.

and when that happens and certain schools still lose, they will cry about something else.  I loath this give everyone a trophy mentality. If you are not a winning program, buck up and work harder.

And when you're drawing pool is 2 or 3 times that of small rural schools, its quite the advantage. If these type teams can can get by with it, just put the privates right back with um. Tell East TN State to work harder and beat Alabama. Get real

Apparently, they submitted incorrect data to the TSSAA vs what they sent to the state. According to Kreager on Twitter, TSSAA confirmed with the state the correct number.

MASE didn’t submit any thing the school board submitted the power school numbers not the ADM which is  what TSSAA goes by!

Let's go tell that to Gleason, Greenfield, Dresden, McKenzie, Perry County, Lake Co., etc......who can only play with the kids that are zoned to that school.  Please.  Go back to your DII boards and cry that over at TCA.  Maybe TCA needs to recruit a little harder to hang with USJ anc JCS.

(BTW...This post is totally out of character for me, but some things just really get under my skin.)

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
