Lots of movement this last week. Some movement because of season ending losses and some because of dominating wins. Some movement because of underwhelming performances in the win but the name of the game at this point is survive and advance. Are these the top 10 teams in West TN?

I think Covington takes down Dyersburg this week. Henry Co with 4 stops inside the 2 and driving the entire field for the win is really impressive.

Dyersburg losing their starting qb a couple of weeks ago really hurt them against Martin. But mainly he was a starting db as well. Martin made some plays in the passing game. I don’t know if Covington can do the same thing. Westview is a passing team. Covington isn’t. Will be a great game that I think can go either way.

Henry Co. has beaten some really good teams this year.  1 loss was to a team that very well play for 6A gold ball and it was only by 3pts. But Southwind really impressed me last week. They are undefeated and very well May beat Henry Co. Henry Co barely beat Beech in the regular season and Southwind handled Beech with ease. This will be a great game as well.

I haven’t seen Covington since preseason but they are definitely capable of throwing it. Dyersburg QB going down is my reasoning for picking Covington.

I watched the first Dyersburg vs Covington game in person. The front 7 for Dburg shut down the Covington run game completely and they had no answer passing the ball. The question will be what adjustments will Covington make to give their qb time to throw the ball?  Running on the Trojans is a tall task and Kalen Edwards, the big boy up for Mr. Football, lives in opposing teams backfields.

Playing Westview tight is concerning.

    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
    • Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.
