  1. The schedule was made last year. Everyone was expecting Cornersville to be better in 17 but I would venture to guess that nobody knew we were gonna have the kind of season we had last year. Nothing we can do but play the games that are scheduled. Nobody has had a lead on the Bulldogs this season. The 20 points they have given up this year were in game 1 after the subs came in. They were leading that game big at the half. Its hard to trail in a game when you dont let the other team score.

  2. Man plz. It’s easy to say a team is not on a different level when they loose a game. You been around a long time. When you have a region like ours you throw the head to head out. Peabody even though we face them this week is on another level. I can Be honest and legit. Can the east? NO. East will see the next level whoever comes from the west.

  4. Man I hope it doesn't get moved, let the kids play on the field were they earned it I don't care about field conditions play and adapt,it's supposed to home field advantage not let's go play in our neighbors back yard

  5. Hey, I feel the same way especially since this is the first time they have faced each other. If my memory serves me correctly, TC won a Gold Ball in 1997 in 1A the same year Tyner won the 2A championship!

  6. Osteen is some type of wizard, has great success with his QB, QB leaves for Giles and he has to change his entire offense within weeks of the season, and is still winning games. Nice work by the staff down there. Lewisburg by 3

  7. Good season for the Eagles, I was hoping for more with Cobb being a senior. Love the way he plays. Felt we underachieved some but then again it is a tough region. Time for the round ball.

  8. Officiating was bad on both sides. Illegal chop block on Halls (before their 2nd score was horrible). 12 men on the field on DC was equally as bad. Official on the Halls sideline seemed more worried about the sideline than the game! Amazing the continue to let these clown officials get in the way of a good game. With that being said, DC looked to have a solid football team. QB seemed to be a very good player dealing with bad conditions. Def think the weather helped Halls more than it hurt them. Had never been to DC and enjoyed the time there. Best of luck to you guys next week.

  9. RUMORS FROM THE MARYVILLE METRO AREA * Shad is negotiating for a position as Night Assistant Manager at Happy Wang's Chinese Massage Parlor. * Passiveaggressive is confused with all the pressure on Opiate producers and would like his Congressman to have the pharmaceutical companies quit making diuretics because it creates more work cleaning the urinals. * Maryville H.S. will schedule a out of state nationally ranked H.S. team next season from Cali, Tx or Fl. Afterwards will hire a damage control team formally used by Hillary Clinton to explain the loss. * Maryville coaching staff will appear on 60 minutes to explain how with so many State Championships so few of former players end up on Division 1 teams and of those who do never make an NFL roster. * The Glory Club of overweight 30+ year olds that still wear their State Champs ring will be meeting at Bubba & Pearls Buffet Thursday night to reminisce about the glory days and discuss Gastric Bypass. * Rebelwoman will hold cotillion classes and the art of fine dining manners at the VFW on Hobbs Rd in Alcoa she requests attendees wear their best bib overalls and wear deodorant. * Greyrider will star in the Community Theater Actors Guild in the stage version of Broke Back Mountain. He will tell people "I just can't quit you" for months afterwards. I don't like repeating rumors so you better listen closely the first time. More as my sources report in.

  13. Union City beat Peabody 42-16 in 2014. Peabody still won state in 2A (shows how good Peabody was, and how insanely good UC was) and Union City won it in 1A convincingly. The closest game they played all year was Huntingdon where they won by 28

  15. Here is my prediction, because I’m done with this BS. I’ll post again after the game. Waverly wins. Here is why. At home advantage Chip on shoulder Battle tested against good teams Humbled because of 3 losses Humbled because of incident after week 3 Gavin Stanfield #11 - Smart, dual threat, experienced, leader, makes explosive plays Montez Bradley #45 - Hungry, strong nosed runner, shifty, hard to tackle, makes explosive plays JD Dixon #37 - Fast, hard to tackle, dangerous in space, makes explosive plays Offensive Line - strong, physical, disciplined Offensive Scheme - gonna see it all. Spread RPO, Single wing, Wildcat. CA loads the box, throw it. CA spreads it out, run it. Rush the QB, he will make you pay. Special Teams makes plays. Block Punts/FGs Return Punts/Kick offs Defense will make enough plays to stop CA from outscoring Waverly Ill eat my crow if I need to Friday night. Waverly wins by 3 scores. Enjoy this BS thread the rest of the week. Best of luck to both teams and I pray for no injuries. General...Forrest vs Waverly 2018 Never forget how terrible Waverly played and how Forrest hung in there. Bull dawgs Rise - 30 years from now, you will still be on here saying... 31 years ago CA beat Waverly and them Waverly fans looked stupid But all that said Friday night... Waverly Tigers get the Win

  16. Congratulations to the Cavs and the Devils. I saw where a Cav and 4 Devils have been named to the Toyota East West all star game. Way to represent.

  17. A rematch of the MC/Springfield game would be epic. That is in the running for the game of the year. Northside is tough with size and speed but one thing Central will do is play physical. They have two linebackers that are as good as anyone in the state and a DE that is almost unblockable. Also think they are averaging like 30 pts a game. This is a fun team to watch play and they will bring all of Cunningham with them to Jackson. You can count on that. Hope the Cinderella story keeps going.

  21. I'll answer that question and I Know, watched, and played under Ballard before he was a head coach. Cade is 5'10 205lbs and squats more than anyone on the team. If he can QB sneak it in behind that big line and his strength why would any coach take a risk of a hand off? Don't have to worry about a hand off mess up or penetration from the D. Ballard is not the leading rusher on the team and has only been the leading rusher in 2 games all season. Through the Regular season #47 Youngblood had 34 carries for 271 yards 7 TDS. #20 Gillespie leads the team in rushing with 490 yards on 36 carries and 7 TD's. Ballard had 9 TD's on the year with most of them being within the 2 yard line (outside the long run against DB on guess what a QB sneak, and 13 yard TD run against Betsy). Ballard rushed for 394 yards on 45 carries. The Devils had 30 rushing TD's in the Regular Season and Ballard accounted for less than 30 % of the rushing TD's and less than 25% of total rushing yards for the team who ran for 1583 yards this year.

  22. How many rushing tds does #2 have? More than #47 and #20? Just curious, you got two great RB why not feed them the ball inside the 10?

  23. On games I seen the running backs don't get the ball inside the 5 yard line #2 keeps it.

  24. 1.) I would guess revenge is more of a fan thing than a player thing, tbh, if i was a coach I wouldn't want my team to come out looking for 'revenge' thats how you play emotionally and lose your cool and give up giant plays, I have seen it happen too many times. 2.) If Waverly can stop CA's run, then I would suspect that they will win relatively big, CA has not shown they can throw the ball ever since their starting QB went down several weeks ago. This isn't to say they can't, but it hasn't looked great from what I have seen. I don't think Waverly can stop CA's run, but if they can limit the amount of big plays, and stop them inside the redzone that will probably win them the game, as FGs are likely to not win this. 3.) I do not think Waverly will put up anywhere close to 40+ points on the CA team. The only way I can see this happen is if CA can't run the ball and gets frustrated and gives up. I have not seen this CA team give up, so I dont think that will happen. 4.) I have not seen Waverly play this year, so this post is literally generic, and meaningless just like 95% of every other post in this thread.

  25. York has had a good season, it might of been a different game with yalls big back against us but never know, maybe we can get a rematch if we both win out Friday. Y’all have a good team, win or lose Friday those boys need to keep there heads high

  26. I think it’s named after the street that it intersects with; Houston Levee which is a main road that runs through the Germantown/Cordova area. Still no clue about the history of it tho.

  27. I honestly think Elizabethton will catch them early Shawn Witten is a great coach and has a bunch of hungry kids and will pull out all the stops... Betsys defense is very underrated they get pressure on Martin snd frustrate them early I dont think Mavs have the coaching to make the adjustments when down

  34. This a great matchup! Still undecided who I think will come out on top? MC has been here a few times and they know what they need to do, but can they stay focus and rise to the occasion? Tullahoma has beaten some good teams this season and had close one with a solid tough MapleW team. When you have two opponents that are fairly matched up; the team that normally comes out on top is the team that doesn't have a lot of mental errors - penalties, missed blocks, wrapping up when tackling, not turning the ball over, and creating turnovers for the other team. In games like this you have to play smart pyhsical football. I do think Coaching plays a factor in big games like this and the coaching staff has to make the right adjustments on both ends of the ball, but ultimately it comes down to the kids staying focused, being disciplined, and then executing the game plan. I'm sure both teams want to win and this one should be an exciting game. Get out this Friday night and support your team. Score Prediction to come later in this week. Have a great week everyone.

  35. Yup. We actually picked up all of Forrest and Eaglevilles best players to help us out Friday

  36. Don’t really care who wins. Both teams are excellent and each brings their own set of challenges. Either way the level of effort and execution it will take to win from both players and coaches would be something we haven’t seen yet this year but I’m 100% convinced the Purple have it in them. So let’s see them destroy Westy first, leave no doubt, be perfect this game. My head might explode before we get to Friday!

  37. Waverly, CA, LC, and RS have a lot of players back from last years team. I believe all are better than 2017. Whoever comes out of these 4 have a great chance of winning it all. I for one refuse to disrespect any of these teams and will pull for the team that comes out of these games.

  38. 40 plus on everyone here on out I doubt it. It only gets tougher the further you go in to the playoffs

  39. Bryson Teffeteller and Tee Hodge ran hard the other night. AJ was outstanding. Loved the pass to Brayden Anderson. What a catch Brody Sloan had the other night. Offense did enough to win. Defense was outstanding. Blaze Welch is a great run stuffer. Linebackers were outstanding. Outstanding interception by Devon Kimble. Bearden wasnt a typical 4 seed. I see why they were 8-2. Their defense was outstanding. Their defense was right up there with Oakland and Alcoa.

  40. Man you Waverly guys have no idea what's coming. You'd think last year would've taught you. This will not be some Waverly blow out. You weren't even convincing against Forrest. Very bland performance. I'm trying to be objective here but what I am seeing is CA fans who have every right to be braggarts actually being pragmatic, and Waverly, who SHOULD be humble, coming on here and expecting to blow CA out. They will physically match you up front. Or they have the capability to, at least.

  41. This game is not going to be a blowout either way. Anyone who thinks that is being silly. I've seen both teams a combined 6x in the last 12 months. Wavelry has a very fundamentally sound O line, 3 ridiculous skill guys, and an average defense. CA has 1 ridiculous skill guy, a couple other good skill guys, and a very good defense. CA has been saddled this year with appearing apathetic at times, making little mistakes that they weren't making last year, and the loss of their QB. With Waverly, if you put a good athlete on #37, he won't destroy you. But then you have to still line up and take care of #11. #45 is a load to bring down. I think this is gonna be about who is winning at the LOS. Not from a power/push standpoint, but from technique. Can CA shed Waverly's excellent blockers and get 2 stops per half. On the other side CA needs to play an almost mistake free game offensively, SO THEY CAN SCORE. Holding Waverly to 21 or 28 points is meaningless if you are sputtering, coughing up the ball, putting yourself in holes with penalties, having the majority of the action on your side of the field, etc. Waverly will be very up for this game. Maybe TOO up. It's a very long trip for CA. I think both teams will be ready to play. I'll have a pick by Thursday

  42. That is completely wrong I’m sorry. CA did not practice for that game all year. Coach Lansdell preaches that he wants the state championship. He doesn’t preach beat this team in the quarterfinals in a couple months. CA was Better than Waverly last year. That’s a fact. Waverly had a great offense but CA was a better complete team and they showed it that night. Waverly had no answer for anything that came their way.

  43. I agree, it doesn't matter at all, except to the young man who intercepted it and ran it back, but from what I heard and read the penalty's were after he crossed the goal line

  44. Dont care how we win as long as we stay healthy.

  45. Not bad for a back up QB and a team of 90% sophomores and juniors. It’ll be hard to hold Cornersville to under 40 but the future is bright.

  46. Just a bunch of old white men making rules to keep kids down. Things like this are about power and control and has very little to do with safety.
