  1. Just bought tickets for the Huntingdon/Cornersville game. Still some good lowers for a decent price.

  2. I agree with you about what teams get the silver ball. I don't think the east team can stay within 21 of the west representative. I believe 1A will be the same way.

  3. I'm sure you didn't intend for that to sound like you were making fun of the boys. Go ahead and poke fun at me, that's fine, but let's avoid saying stuff that might be construed as demeaning to the young men who played with heart even if the team struggled badly much of the season.

  4. Cakewalk..? Ok I'm not falling for it. This young Tiger team is still in it this year and will keep rolling. Not worried about last season or next season.

  6. But I don't think they beat Greeneville if it comes to that.

  7. I will comment on the teams I have actually seen play this season. Oakland is for real and I hope Maryville gets another crack at them. Johnson County - fraud is not a fair term for a team that is an undefeated region champ but they are in a whole new playoff world. If they make it past Austin East then Alcoa probably looms and that's a team that makes a lot of teams look like frauds. Of the teams I haven't seen I would really be interested to see Germantown and Whitehaven play again. Also Anderson County is in the same boat as Johnson County - they beat Greeneville and I will think they have something going.

  8. Not to toot Marshall County's horn, but one can also add to that that three teams in their region were in the pre-season AP Top Ten in 4A. And, Region 4 swept Region 3 in the first round, with only one game being even close.

  10. For us that have not seen your team. Can you fill us in to your key players.QB and wideouts.I mean, it's not something the DB coaches and players don't already know just as the key players for DB.DB has a very solid line and some good strong backs.A good tall QB and wideouts that can make some plays. The defense has a couple stud backers and good athletes in the defensive backfield. The strength on defense is they all go to the ball.On offense the power running game is the strength but can move it in the air as well. Very solid athletes that in my mind shouldn't have lost a game yet just based on talent alone.

  11. The speed of AC worries me going forward, if we play like we did Friday on the Defensive side of the ball we are in trouble and will need to score 50 and that may still not be enough. Its not like Grainger just drove down the field on us 3 and 4 yards at a time and we just couldn't stop them, the first drive was like 4 plays and 75 yards and their was one drive that was 1 play for 90. Our defense kept closing in and Grainger would press the line of scrimmage and then flow to the outside and we didn't have the speed to make up for it early. We had a good run of about a quarter and a half where the defense finally started stopping that and then Grainger ran right at us and we couldn't stop it and couldn't catch up when they broke one, that worries me. We are going to have to be disciplined on Defense if we are going to have a shot Friday night. I was concerned with the fact that Grainger was able to convert on every single 2 point conversion, Grainger was able to keep up with scoring and gain just due to the 2 point conversions. Not saying we wont be, but we HAVE to be mistake free because we do not have the team speed to make up for mistakes. We have to be the total package if we are going to go very far and right now it looks like our only chance is to outscore teams, that is not going to last long. I think this team can do great things and hope they will, but as of now they look vulnerable on Kick Coverage and on the back end of the defense and I think that is mostly due to team speed. I think AC pulls out a nail biter Friday night in a fairly high scoring game but will not be shocked if Elizabethton pulls out the W. Cheering for the Mavs and hope they come out with a good game plan and execute. AC 42 Elizabethton 41

  12. The more I think back maybe it could of been an older jersey because I do know it wasn't gray but was white, I'm sure he knows what he's talking about if the jersey's don't leave the stadium. I'm not going to argue that but I did talk to the kid a half a minute while in line to pay for coffee.

  13. Thanks for mentioning that MomTo81. I know what I saw that morning, I just didn't realize I was going to be put on Judge Judy over it. They'll fuss over the smallest things out there while the biggest things fly right over their heads, like the football program.

  18. I don't know to whom you are asking this question, so if it was not intended for me I apologize in advance for answering. I was not implying that no one WB could not play anywhere else, I actually thought that if David Ellis would have had their OL this year, that they would have been the best OL in the area. Because of obvious reasons, some kids are going to play there and play earlier than they would at some other schools....But, for some kids, their parents have decided that it is in their kids best interest to go elsewhere, and there is nothing wrong with that decision.

  21. This is just my opinion but any team that is still standing after this Friday is legit. Don't matter what your record is. If you can make it to rd 3 you are a pretty good team.

  24. Round One told us what we already knew...Region 1 is AWFUL...Region 3 is TOUGH...Region 4 has ONE GREAT TEAM that should be in Division 1...and Region 2 is lucky to be paired with Region 1.

  25. I agree. I think it comes down to a one score game between Alcoa and PC. But I've been wrong before. However, some folks are saying a 2 TD win in the finals.

  27. Could see eagleville making it Deep, only team imo who can stay close with waverly. Hard to play from behind with an offense that is not spread.

  32. Ticket price is $8 as set by the T$$AA during playoff games so a family of 4 is going to spend a minimum $32 Not including any drinks or food they buy at the game. Probably looking at $45-50 for a family of 4 at a playoff game.

  35. well, lets examine this topic for a bit shall we. For one, there are usually more band members than football players, especially at schools like betsy and greeneville, so naturally there will be more band parents at the games than football parents. that leaves us with the fan that has no ties to the band OR the team players. They are in most cases there to see either both or just the Football game. Before three years ago, I was the typical parent that went for the football game. Then my daughter started high school and decided she wanted to try color guard. She did and loves it so there for I have been given the chance to see a whole different side of this issue. If i were not making Greeneville videos and had zero interest in football what so ever, i promise you i would go to every game her band was at and i have seen her perform atlelast 2 times every year shes been there and i fully support their band and am a small donor to their cause. So i totally understand why some people go to the games and leave after the band plays. I also understand why alot of people didnt pack the house for Betsy vs SHS this past w eek. Im sure the weather sucked at some point there too and im pretty sure most betsy fans knew that wouldnt be much of a game. we have to remember that not EVERYONE is as fanatical about football as us and you DID also say that your fans travel well, so be proud of that. It's possible that alot of fans were saving their money for round 2. we also have to remember that in this region a lot of people are struggling to make ends meet and must decide carefully how and where to spend their "entertainment" dollar. I imagine a family of 4 or more would spend a decent amount of cash to attend a playoff game. Dont ticket prices go up a couple bucks for playoff games? Didnt intend to type a novel here, I just wanted to share my thoughts on the subject, because like you, I sometimes get frustrated at our fans for not being as loud as i think they should. Just a few thougts from a single parent with minimal funds to work with

  42. Anderson County showed us a lot lastnight. And well it wasn’t good. Hats off to Grainger though you guys just needed some defense this year. Grainger took away the pass for most of the game and showed us the defense for Ac isn’t very good and not conditioned enough to last 4 quarters with a really good opponent. Betsy wins this game and the excuses come out for Ac. Just don’t blame the refs ha ha see you in Burley Betsy

  44. Pulling for Coalfield from over in West Tennessee. I always pull for Coalfield and usually pick them in the Big Ones Contest. I like them for two reasons: they have a cool name, and they always seem to be in the football mix. Must have a great program up there - and with a very small school at that.
