  1. Also, it seems to be a consensus that if CA loses it will not be because of anything Waverly does, but because (a) poor QB play by the backup, (b) coming out flat and unmotivated, or (c) some other element not created by the talent Waverly possesses.

  2. I have been reading everyone's comments this week about this game. I have been waiting to add my comments because I would like to see AC win and I know the Cyclones fans would not like it, so please don't take it personal. I would like to see another match up between AC and Big Greene and see what kind of excuses AC comes up with this time. But my gut has been saying the Cyclones will win and pull off the upset. The Cyclones are well coached and they have been playing all year with a chip on their shoulder and that grit that they lacked last year. Also an advantage the Cyclones have this year that they didn't have last year going into this game is their QB Everett. I gotta go with what my guts says. *Cyclones 35 AC 34* Eitherway this should be an awesome game. Prove me wrong AC and then you can come back on here and tell me that I must have ate some bad crow for my gut to be leaning toward the Cyclones to win. And if you Cyclones do pull off the win then you can get on here and give me ear full for wanting AC to win. Both are great teams and derserving to be in the 2nd round. I hope both teams play great and come out free of injuries. Have a great weekend

  4. You must not see much game film. Yes, Greeneville is know to throw the bubble screen from time to time. However, they can also chuck it down field. And they do it quite often. Not as much as last year, Goddard and Hite just simply aren't as fast as Crawford was, but they still have some pretty deep balls on a game to game basis.

  7. I saw the game too and what I saw was an elite athlete that went through double and triple teams to refuse to let his team lose. Sometimes I think even Springfield fans don't know how lucky they are to have 23. Noone has given MC problems like that kid did, not Portlands QB, not Kenwoods RB, not Sycamores RB who had a crazy amount of yards this year. None of them are close to 23. He is legit, south side will find out tomorrow.

  8. Has he committed to you all yet or does he still have some visits to Alcoa and Maryville before he makes his decision?

  9. Better go to Food City if you want to cook up some steaks, all they got in anderson county is some cheap ground turdkey and a bunch of whole whole bunch of dillusional flying calves...... OH, but they do have some pretty cute firecrackers they shoot off before their football games that they play in that thing they call a stadium....where i come from a stadium has stands on BOTH sides of the field...i guess they havent figured out how to county to TWO yet.....

  14. Huntingdon teams of 10+ years ago played big boy smash mouth football. They had teams with big nasty offense and defensive lineman and linebackers and defensive backs who liked to knock your head off. One thing this Huntingdon team has is speed and alot of it. Anxious to see how they respond when someone really hits them in the mouth. That hasn't happened this year. Cornersville did it last year and Huntingdon didnt like it too good

  15. I don’t think Tyner (from what I have seen from that region) has really been hit in the mouth yet and TC will definitely bloody some lips tomorrow!

  17. If Martin goes down(could happen hes fragile) who do they turn to? Moog? Lol he would be playing OL/DL at Besty or Greeneville

  18. Fact. It takes a team to win a game. Greeneville could lose their QB and their running game would still be able to carry them. I said it last year, If AC only has their QB and no depth then an injury like that will sink them. That's what separates Greeneville, Alcoa, Maryville from everyone else. A starter goes down but they have enough depth to not be affected too badly.

  22. Yea Tennessee High going to be tough it’s hard to beat a team twice I want a Boone vs Crockett playoff game talking about setting attendance that game will

  23. Truth. Weather could play a huge factor in the game. Ball control, soggy field, I’ve seen stranger things happen. Watertown better come to play. I have no doubt that they will, for the most part they have all season. But there’s a reason we still play the games. Just win, stay healthy, survive and advance. Don’t care about mercy ruling this week. Margin of victory means nothing, just victory, and staying healthy.

  24. The problem is not the field or the stadium or the facilities. The problem is the butts in the seats. Lots of people come to the games but very few actually CHEER. Never understood what the issue is there. Negates home field advantage if you dont get loud and cheer on the boys

  25. Has to be for personal consumption!! This is going to be a fantastic game with two fairly even teams. Spare me the nonsense/idiotic/irrational comments! If you can’t make an intelligent, meaningful comment, please don’t waste our time. The End.

  28. Devilboy03, you have to be lonely person.... Really all I see out of Greenville is the short game that's why #2 has such a good completion record he doesn't throw down the field like AC's #9 does... IMO #9 is 100% the QB.....

  32. Hope to see everyone out at the game instead of just talking on here! Should be a good one. Time for talk is almost over for us, time for predictions, I'm picking Waverly by 15 to keep it out of a two-score game! Great talk boys.

  34. That's what I have heard. Upperman didn't win because they were the better team. It was that doggone rain that made only Sequatchia players slip. In reality, the rain was a huge advantage for a team like Sequatchia. Upperman is faster and has much better skill players. Try telling the Squatch fans that though.

  35. Now we all know poor Sequatchie can't afford the rain cleats every other team has. That's why rain only effects them. The magical cleats the rest of us have is an unfair advantage.

  36. They may have a complaint. That statement could have a copy right held by Huntington. If that’s the case then Gbnation could be looking at a lawsuit.

  39. I hate to bring coaching back into this again, but what coach doesn’t have his players ready for a regional championship game? By the way you were out rushed by close to 100 yards.

  40. That's hilarious! I'm bored in a NC hotel room and just finished the podcast. I hadn't read your post. I thought the very same thing.....this response is going to be epic! I agree with Sparty. Its a matchup thing. Now, ND may come out and surprise me, but I believe this one is going to be a really good game. Wish I could be there. Good luck to your boys the rest of the way. I'm hoping to see CPA stop the streak!

  41. But you have to admit it was a great strategy. Disappear for 8 months, come back when things cool down like nothing ever happened. It was genius move in my opinion!

  42. Interesting to think if the next Rankin or Quarles(if there is one out there) coached Tyner after Coach T retires - you could be right Bass - Tyner could compete for gold ball every year. It's complicated - I think Tyner usually gets better as the season goes because kids in this demographic struggle to make it to all the summer lifting and workouts and some of the things that make the dynastic programs so successful. How do the Rankin's of the world overcome some of the challenges Tyner kids seem to have with home life, having to work to support family, can't get rides to practice? I'm sure these aren't just Tyner issues. Success builds on success though and if you can have a few years in a row where you are playing and practicing into the 3rd, 4th round - the extra practices can make up for some of what was missed in the summer with younger players. Helps a lot for Tyner right now that #11 is catching passes for us. Can't wait to watch him Friday night and win or lose we should have him one more year.

  43. nobody ever talks about springfields qb but the kid has pretty impressive stats. 2010 yards passing and 27 passing tds. 723 yards rushing and 9 tds on the ground. Better than i even thought

  45. Tbh it's all about match ups. If ca can pound the ball three or four yards a pop n keep waverly off field they have a shot. Waverly is the real deal offensively but in a close game one tipped ball can make the difference. Actually hoping ca wins. No offense to waverly but riverside matches up a lot better w ca on paper than waverly if rhs can beat the odds playing Lewis at their house n move on. Some teams match up better against other teams. Going to b interesting how it plays out Friday

  46. thank you. i read that article all the time. not to keep this thing going, but to shed some light on his situation. his act/sat scores were adequate, but with the tough academics at BA his GPA was not high enough. what most people dont know, is that before our senior year, coach flatt tried to get Tito to go to franklin high school so that he could qualify. with his scores, he would had qualified if he had a 2.95 GPA. he refused to go because he loved BA that much. that is the type of man Flatt is. flatt was willing to get rid of the best player he ever had because it was the best thing for Tito. thats why i say that football is not the most important thing at BA. not to bash Franklin but he would have easily had the grades had he not been at BA. i am telling you this to help defend the false sense out there that he couldnt cut it. i wish you the best!!
