At this point, I’m just praying we can all stay healthy and continue to play. One game at a time. And here’s to Region 1 teams taking care of business in the playoffs when they roll around.

LOL...no statue needed. I just feel like if OR fans want to criticize our coach, that's OK but when a Clinton fan comes on our thread to criticize our coach, that's just plain stupid. They're 0-7 so the focus of the Clinton fans should be on Clinton and their coach. And your focus should be on Fulton and Coach Black. You don't see me or other OR fans being critical of Coach Kieth or Coach Black, mainly because our focus is OR and at least for me, I don't care about Clinton or Fulton and NEVER even give them a thought except for the week OR is playing them.

Personally love to see a hype coach. He can relate to players a whole lot easier. They talk like Greeneville wouldnt have tore down the goal posts if they won LOL

Few years ago Ballard and the Greene Devils came to J Fred and smacked DB. 43 to 3 or something. Did Ballard pull his starters? No. Did I complain. No. How can I complain when DB has done it for years under Clark. Cant beat a team 77 to 0 then complain about running up the score

Congrats to Green Hill. You have certainly turned around your season. To be honest the team I saw play early was extremely disorganized and I didn't think they would win a game other than against York. Granted Stratford is WAY down from last year, but Giles is a decent 3A team. Luckily you didn't have to play out the initial schedule with Pearl and East. Those would not have been pretty. Good luck the rest of the way.

Im kinda of going off last yr too.Our DBs have struggled to say the least since H.Booker.Also the West defense is really good and Powell moved the ball on them way way better than we or anybody else has

This would've been a good game to see "The Battle of the Bands!" Dang it Covid.... To the game, well I'm an AE fan and we're having a down year so Brainerd basically beat the brakes off of us. In my opinion, Brainerd is BIG, Fast, and GOOD. Don't take them lightly, you should be in for a good dog fight. They like to grind it down your throats and if you stop the run game they're going up top to the sticky hands WR's. Good Luck, I might pull up to chatt to see this game..

I'm not aware of any problems with crowds in Williamson, or at Nashville private schools. I've not heard of any outbreaks at those schools, and I've seen some decent crowds. It seems to me that Metro is trying to do everything they can to extend the pain of this mess.

The most hilarious comment in this thread is a Bradley fan complaining about officiating. It's well known when you play at Bradley in football or girl's basketball, the phantom calls appear when Bradley's opponent is doing well.

If not for a long kickoff return Greeneville never gets in the end zone. Even then it took five plays to go eleven yards. I never felt like this game was close. That return and officiating is what had the devils in the game at halftime.

I totally agree. I hope OR plays really good against Powell and Fulton. I heard Gaddis talk about teams that go deep in the playoffs are the teams that get hot at the right time and I agree. And THIS is the right time!

After watching Gordy and Fayetteville last night...I’m not too worried about Gordy. Matchups in the interior may get us some, but we have wayyyy too much speed for them

The score of our game was extremely misleading. What the newspaper failed to mention is that Cocke County fumbled 4 times inside their own 10, plus a couple of other fumbles and an interception inside the 15. All Boone had to do was walk it in. In my opinion Cocke County is way better than what it looked like on the scoreboard, they just got buried with some critical mistakes early and never recovered. Boone was very sloppy, probably 100 yards of stupid penalties plus guys out of formation, calling time outs to avoid a delay of game, etc. But again when your average drive is < 20 yards none of that matters. If we play next week against Crockett like we played tonight then they win by 30.

TC forced 3 cascade turnovers to help pull away last night, cascade has improved and if they can execute their game plan and not turn the ball over they could play with region 3’s #1 or #2 for awhile, don’t think they have enough fire power on offense to win the game but most certainly could keep it very respectable 2-3TDs

One thing I want to point out is Jamal Allen, who switched jerseys to 55, played a good physical game at tackle and defensive end in the limited playing time. He not only got on blocks but finished them.

I wouldn’t say we aren’t good. We definitely aren’t great, but we are a quality team, and the same goes for MJ, especially their defense. 2 of our losses have been to 2 undefeated teams (DB & West) and have held both of them to their lowest output on offense all year long thus far (DB/19 & West/22) respectively. I doubt any team around these parts will be pining to play us come playoff time. We may end up getting hammered by Powell, that remains to be seen, but thus far we’ve been a good team who has been highly competitive in most every game we’ve been in.

Yes, we are...because we lost to two 6a teams and a powerhouse 5a, with a combined total of 2 losses.

IF, and I’ll start with a big if. Betsy plays South like they have William-Blount & Greeneville, this ones over before the half. If they loss focus and over look them, could be a repeat of last years regular season match-up. But I too think they will be ready. Stay healthy, keep focused and play the next game. Do that until there are no games left! Respect all, fear none.

To answer your question seriously a lot of kids that go to Heritage do live many miles away from school which most big consolidated schools share the same problem. Another problem and a big one is a lot of kids going to school that drive are working part time jobs to pay for that ride. I was at BoJangles last fall and a boy ask me if I knew what the score ended out on the Heritage game that night and proceed to tell me he played the year before and had to quit in order to pay for his pickup truck. That is the biggest reason you hear me on these threads mention there are certain circumstances some schools have and enrollment isn't the true divider among all schools. Until this is put into the equation putting these teams in rightful divisions we'll continue to have half the games or more on Friday Night end out in a lopsided slaughters.

Great fall weather and a great atmosphere to watch Friday night football. The Yellow Jackets never gave up and played hard to the end. Alcoa played mainly the second team the last part of the 3rd and 4th quarter. Kingston played them tough, and just about scored on them. Best of Luck against Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Pitman!

I agree nothing about this year is FAIR.Just play the team you are scheduled "if you can" and advance.If you cant start getting ready for next year and PRAY this crap is better prepared for.

I believe that EV is the better team. They are better coached an far more disciplined. I wasn’t really impressed with Loretto new coach and his approach.

How is winning a game Choking? Greeneville Choked in the first game of the season and Boone was actually the one choked by missing a FG to win it against Betsy. It's football with high school kids and a lot of factors go into a game and each team matches up differently. Ex. Boone beat Greeneville. Tennessee High Beats Boone. Greeneville beats Tennessee High. Betsy is still the favorite in 4a until proven otherwise

Z-Plan as well, I think it works much better than the current set up for the playoffs. Also, region champions do get to be automatic qualifiers (which doesn't carry any weight because chances are they will be automatic qualifiers anyway). But, this is my catch. Teams have the option of playing on Friday or Saturday nights. Why? If we struggle so much with attendance, and the TSSAA is coming out saying that they aren't making as much money in the playoffs as years past, then let teams have the option of playing on Saturday. What are the pro to having teams playing on Saturday? More fans (potentially) which means more money (potentially). It also increases the option of fans that are traveling 2+ hours for a playoff game because of work issues. The only con: a “shorter”’ week if you win and advance. A change I am lobbying for in the playoffs (but also in regular season). I want to see the overtime move back to the 25 yard line, just like they do in college. I think it's better for the defense and gives them more freedom. It also tells the offense that you have to get 2 first downs before you can score. In addition, more emphasis to special teams. It'll create havoc, but in a good way. Oh by the way, high school playoff games are 2 and a half hours anyway, does staying there 15 more minutes kill you?
