Giles Co makes the long drive to Dunlap to face the Indians this Friday for an important region matchup . Don’t know much about Sequatchie Co but Just by comparing scores from same opponents I’d give the edge to Giles co ,but that could be misleading . You maybe right. He has struggle running this season but so has all the OR RBs. I do however think Jackson is going to have some great games at RB coupled with some stellar LB play in the next several weeks. Judging from the two players on Wed. Coaches Corner the team still looks up to Jackson and has faith in him. I know I still enjoy watching him play.

Week 9 Update This past week a lot of teams were playing out of region or had an off week. This week again quite a few teams are on a bye week but there are couple key region games Teams still undefeated Memphis Central Page Station Camp Games to watch McMinn Co vs Walker Valley Portland vs Station Camp Dyer Co vs Covington* Oak Ridge vs Karns *=non region game Region 1 vs Region 2 Region 1 David Crockett lost to the new up start West Ridge in out of region play and now has a bye week before facing rival Daniel Boone. Mo West lost a good ball game to Knox Carter, but now face Cherokee in their region finale. TN High and Boone square off in a pivotal region game. A win for TN high sets them up for a potential shot at a home game and a win for Boone will set up a winner take all game with Crockett. Region 2 Region leader Knox West had their off week to get ready for Cocke Co. Knox Central picked up a nice win against a good South Doyle team. Now central has to go to Knox Halls in what will a big game for both and really will either really help clear up the playoff picture or really muddy it up. Sevier Co has an off week before a region game against Heritage. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) David Crockett vs Halls Knox Central vs TN High Mo West vs Sevier Co Knox West vs Daniel Boone Region 3 vs 4 Region 3 Powell has captured the region title and home field advantage for the first 3 rounds. That was a dominating win over a good Campbell Co team. Campbell has an off week to get ready for Sevier Co and Oak Ridge in back to back games to finish the season. Oak Ridge and Karns have big show down on tv Thursday night. Winner keeps their home playoff game hopes alive loser goes on the road. Now Clinton is not completely out of the playoffs. They have to win out and hope Oak Ridge beats Karns. That would knock Karns out of the playoffs too. Region 4 Rhea has to regroup after a loss on the road to 4A powerhouse Elizabethton. They welcome Howard to Eagle Stadium Friday night. This week will decide who is 2nd in the region with the showdown between Walker Valley and McMinn. WV is coming off a bye week and is looking to seal a 2nd straight 1st round home playoff game. McMinn on the other hand comes in red hot winning their last 3. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Powell vs Ooltewah McMinn Co vs Karns Campbell Co vs Walker Valley Rhea Co vs Oak Ridge Region 5 vs 6 Region 5 Station Camp and Green Hill sit a top the region standings and will meet up Oct 22 to decide the region. Station Camp goes out of region this Friday with Portland. Mt Juliet is coming off a to rival to Lebanon, and now have the week off to get ready for Hillsboro. Wilson Central sits 4th in the standings with a bye week this week and a non region game Stewarts Creek and then Hillsboro the final week. Hillsboro has a bye this week also but has a chance to make the playoffs with games against Mt Juliet and Wilson Central wait. Hillsboro could lose to Mt Juliet and still have a showdown with Wilson Central for the final playoff spot for Region 5. Region 6 Page pretty much sealed the Region 6 Championship with the win over Nolensville. Columbia has a pretty solid grip on 2nd with games against the bottom 2 teams in region 6 left in Lincoln Co and rival Spring Hill. Nolensville has to regroup after losing to Page on their bye week before heading to Franklin. Franklin Co can seal a playoff bid with a win over Spring Hill this Friday. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Green Hill vs Franklin Co Columbia vs Mt Juliet Station Camp vs Nolensville Page vs Wilson Central Region 7 vs 8 Region 7 Springfield is in the drivers seat for the region they have a bye week this week before a big game against Portland which with a win would all but seal the region championship for them. Henry Co is coming off consecutive loses and now have a bye week to regroup before finishing the year with Northeast and Portland. The Portland game will probably decide which team gets a home game and who goes on the road in the first round. Kenwood is in a good position to make the playoffs. They have a bye week this week but finish the year with Northwest and Northeast. Northeast still has a chance but will need some help. Region 8 Memphis Central and Munford both continue to take care of business. The championship will be decided in week 11 if both teams take care of business. Dyer County controls their own destiny for 3rd but head out of region with a game against Covington. The match up with Brighton in two weeks will determine who finishes 3rd and 4th. However, Southwind is not out of the Playoffs heading in to their bye week. They have to win out to make the playoffs. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Springfield vs Dyer Co Munford vs Portland Henry Co vs Brighton Memphis Central vs Kenwood.

Missed a chance to give Jackson a shout out for his defense.He has done a good job and really couldve been a monster if he wouldve played some defense his 1st 3 years.He gets better every game out there and seems to give the team energy when he makes a big play.

I have been in Tennessee since 1964. So you have not pegged me. I am an alumni of LC. Once a panther always a panther. Just sorry I let you aggravate me. I finally figured the why you do what you do. This is probably way off subject but I want to point something out! The friends I have made over the years on T are priceless. Sure we love to cut each other down and give each other a hard time on here but some things you just cannot explain? I have a near and dear friend who I met through this website and he’s from a rival region opponent Peabody. Words cannot explain the act of kindness that one poster recently proposed to me! A man from another community another school system called me last night wanting to feed our kids before Friday’s game with Halls? I was absolutely dumbfounded and so was Coach Quinn and others in the system here! This act of kindness won’t go unnoticed and I want the coachT world to know how great of a person you are! I value our friendship and enjoy talking with you often! It’s not about the food…just one person’s act of generosity and kindness! The legacy you will leave on this earth will be spoken of for years! I'm giving Oakland props for taking this chance. It should help them in the playoffs to play a team the caliber of SP though. At least they aren't worried about a perfect record and have their eye on the prize at the end.

Cornersville only score came from a bad thrown ball that they picked for a house call. Fayetteville did have some bone head flags they took upon themselves but the majority of the penalties called vs Fayetteville that night were egregious it had gotten way to obvious what was taken place during that last drive that Fayetteville scored. I dont think there was a ton of dirty play though those were just two hard nose physical teams battling it out.

regressed? did you watch the game? 18 to 8, with City's defense holding Cornersville's offense to 137 total yards, 0 points, 2-9 3rd down conversion, and at least 4 or 5 trips into the red zone without a single score. as far as City's offense is concerned...i won't get into the talk about penalties that were called and shouldn't have been or were missed. both sides were playing dirty at any point during the game

This guy has to be stopped. Those of us that have played and coached know this sport is about loyalty and team. It grates me in the wrong way. These posts should be about good football conversation not degrading anyone's team. I coached an all American once that played an a losing team but he still got to play at AT and T field against the best kids in the country, not state. Pride is something g that should be diminished by anyone over some stupid vendetta. It's about the kids.

RB has always had talent. Gerald Riggs Jr was a man and they had a WR that was pressing 315 for reps! That was about 20 years ago, I think. They have a punchers chance or better if City makes mistakes or takes many penalties. I think City will play with focus and win. City seems to play teams well in their first meeting. I hope that trend continues Friday night.

Before the season kicked off I heard a few people over in Johnson City saying this was to be the Hill Toppers "Best team ever". I think I remember reading where someone predicted they would lose to Maryville in regular season (check) but would come back to beat the Rebels in the playoffs. On paper It looks like they should be loaded. I don't know how many "great teams" they've had but they have had some pretty good teams. So that raised some eyebrows. We're 7 games into the season, when is this great team going to show up?

Better question to ask is why did Oakland have to schedule this game? Oakland deserves 10 games just like everyone else. If it wasnt for Beacon Hill and SP, Oakland would be playing 8 games. If you want to point the finger at someone, do so at the privates and the big schools that would rather pad their record than challenge themselves
