  2. They lost a ton. Never know who transfers in though.

  3. I thought they should’ve won. They were at what, the 2 yard line on first down going in for the wining score, and flubbed it. But, on the other hand you have to give West props for stopping them too. But man, they seriously flubbed it there at the end. It was definitely terrible clock management. Them and West were about as even as two teams can get. Neither team was what I would call clear cut better than the other. West just made a few great plays on D @ the end, with a bit of help from the Page coaching staff’s terrible clock management.

  5. Why do you get so aggressive and unnecessarily hostile with people in here? @CarlSpackler88 is just telling you what he thinks would happen. He is also constantly praising how good Cleveland is as a team and will be next year. Yet you’re constantly coming at and bashing McCallies whole program. Just relax….its a healthy debate on a good matchup between two good teams.

  6. It’s like the Cleveland vs. McCallie of college wrestling!

  7. I hope so. As an OR fan, I always like to see DB do well. When they aren’t playing us, at least.

  8. Maybe I'm the minority, but I don't get this logic at all. Outside of a few good years with Jackie Benett, the history of Page football prior to Rathbone has been a whole lot of nothing. In 21 and 22 they were big underdogs and it showed. Last year they graduated alot of talent on offense from the previous team, if anything they provably overachieved. Don't think anyone is going to put more pressure to win than Page puts on themselves. If you play 15 games, you had a great season. To fire Rathbone for not winning the last one (regardless of how this season goes) is just crazy when he doesn't have an advantage in talent

  10. Paige head football coach Charles Rathbone is going into his 10th season, and if he doesn’t win state this year, I think it’s got to be his last. He’s had some very good teams, but especially this past season completely sold this year with terrible play calling and time management all year. They had all the capability in the world to win a championship this last season, and they do again this year, especially with a linebacker duo like Anes and Hazzard. I would give him this year, but if he doesn’t win a championship, or at least even make it to the championship game, it’s got to be his last;, there’s no more excuses for him.

  11. I would not be surprised to see some transfers that will add to the Blue Raider depth. That second year there will be a familiarity with the offense and I think you will see the packages open up a little bit , I look for a solid year and hope to see them in the mix of things down the stretch

  13. FYI, there is an option to ignore users like CaptainGuru. Click on your account name, and then click "ignored users". You can then add this dummy to your ignored user list and never have to read a thing it posts. The first user in the history of my forum adventures across many different platforms I've felt the need to ignore.

  14. Didn’t surprise me a bit. I think you overrated their talent, if you wanna be completely honest. Dozier is a great HS back, but doesn’t have top end speed. If you’re gonna play major college ball at his size, you better have elite speed. He doesn’t by a long shot. Rembert? No surprise at all, he’s tiny. I never expected any of those guys to be major college prospects, Nalls included. Maybe your talent evaluation needs revamping?

  16. Lots of schools in Middle TN could do that. Personally, I host two 8 mat high school tournaments at Siegel (Ramsey Rumble and JV State) with upwards of 600 kids. We usually start wrestling around 9 am and have never gone past 6 pm (typically done around 4:30 pm). We have also talked with other local clubs (Blackman, Iron Knights, Nolensville etc) about hosting in Middle TN and having multiple clubs help run tables etc. It could easily be done, especially with having different sessions. It's possible, but as far as I'm aware, when it has been brought up it has been denied because the powers at be said they did not want it to be held at a high school. However, that clearly isn't the case anymore as there is one now held at Cleveland High (I've heard they have done a great job). I personally think they should be held at High Schools. Let those young kids see and feel what a large local high school event would look like.

  17. I think this is a solid schedule with some big time schools and long time small school rivalries. Only see one that could be a blowout in Maryville at farragut

  26. "He would have been tossed around by Hart. Lampert will manhandle him easily if he goes 138. Tenpenny had “coop” down 6-3." - FR615 I'll address these two comments since you want to go after my son, then its probably time to just log off of CoachT for awhile. This place is a cesspool. Did I ever say he would beat Hart? heck no. Lampert has already manhandled him. So what? The guy asked who our 38 lber was and you felt the need to crap on him. Why? Because you think Tenpenny should have won? You don't like me or McCallie? I never suggested Coop would beat anyone And us holding Cooper back was a family decision. Did his wrestling benefit, sure. But one of the main reasons and THE catalyst as to why we left Boyd and did a hold back year is because my youngest son is dying from a terminal illness called Alexanders Disease. They had a new clinical trial at Stanford and we were considering a move to Danville, CA. We literally pushed pause as a family because we didn't know what we were doing or where Grayson would be. Didn't know it at the time, but we were actually blessed that he didn't get in because he ended up in Atlanta later that winter. In fact, he's down there today not that you give a rats ####. But even if that weren't the case, he's still legal and well within the rules of TSSAA. He turns 19 his senior year. I could probably list 10 kids or more right now that will as well. Just off the top of my head I know 6 schools that all have kids that will turn 19 there senior year. For some reason though, you guys target McCallie because we have two I'm done. Waving the white flag. I was warned, didn't listen. CoachT...you win.

  27. They don’t and plenty kids go to HC to train that never thought of wrestling for the high school. Cade Holloway trained there but went to Notre Dame because he lives in Lookout Valley so had to go private school, Uhorchuks trained at HC also and never planned to wrestle at Cleveland. We see Roller does the same. Most all strong wrestling clubs have guys that never would feed into the high school that they usually feed to!

  30. I was motivated to write this when I read that John Sevier Middle School has some promising basketball players. My basketball journey started in the 9th grade when I lived in St. Petersburg FL. I attended a large high school (5000+ students) and was the first sophomore to start on the varsity. Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg offered terrific athletic competition as there was an abundance of really good athletes. I learned early that if you didn't have the talent, fundamentals, conditioning and mental toughness to compete, you would get your rear-end handed to you. I thrived in that environment. I benefitted from great parents, great coaches, and a support network second to none. There have been very few high school athletes who have enjoyed more opportunities than I was presented with. Notice that I haven't said I was better than anyone. In high school I worked extremely hard every day to enhance my skills as a basketball player. Most days I got up at 5 AM and practiced many hours each day. It paid off, I was offered over 200 Division One scholarships. I made 57 straight foul shots in game competition. In 1963 I was on the Ed Sullivan Show as a first team Parade All American player. There were five of us, and Lew Alcindor was part of that group as a 15 year old sophomore from Power Memorial High School in New York City. I decided to attend UNC and became Dean Smith's first high school All American recruit. In high school the fans gave me a nickname, The Rifleman. I led the nation in scoring my junior and senior years. I shot 65% from the floor with everyone trying to stop me. If I had played with the 3-point shot in effect, I would have averaged over 50 points. You have to have confidence and believe in yourself if you are to become a really good shooter. It has to be achieved by hard work and learning how to execute the fundamentals the correct way. After serving in the military and doing social work with foster kids in New Hampshire, my first teaching/coaching position was at John Sevier Middle School. I was blessed and honored to have had the opportunity to coach so many high character young men for 15 years. When I coached at Sevier, my basketball teams won 96% of their games. We had three undefeated teams. I don't know of any basketball team in Tennessee that has won 96% of their games for 15 years. If a team has achieved this, they certainly developed a winning culture. My teams at Sevier lost to Johnson City only twice in 15 years. Those were the same players who won state championships under George Pitts. Who's your Daddy? I want to give credit to the coaches I learned from. I played for three Hall of Fame college coaches: Dean Smith, Larry Brown and Hugh Durham. Billy Cunningham and Dave Cowens were teammates of mine in college. I got to compete against Pat Riley, Louie Dampier, Jon McGlothlin, Tom and Dick Van Arsdale, JoJo White and many other really good players. I played against Duke five times, and we won each game. I played against Kentucky once, and we won by 15 points. My job was to guard Louie Dampier, and he didn't score a point. I did my job! I will close by saying John Sevier Middle School will always have a special place in my heart. Every player who played for me was a very special person. Thank you for providing me with so many great memories. I do hope that I made a difference in your life as a basketball player, and more importantly as a student/athlete and person. I wish the best for every young man and young lady playing basketball in this area. As Dave Cowens often said, "Show me what you've got!" Ian Morrison - Coach Mo
