  1. I agree with TreyB on this one, the one thing I have seen first hand is the man has gift of teaching and he commands the room like nobody I have ever seen. You can have 30 small kids the age of 7 or younger running around and all he has to do is whistle and the kids just listen. He connects to them in a way that most coach's can not. I def think there are some great coach's who know very high level technique but it's hard for them to teach kids that young. IMO that is what separates him from a lot of other coach's I see do it. Not saying other can't but if you have seen it first hand you know what I am talking about.

  2. If you don’t know him. How much do you really know about TN wrestling?

  3. It won’t, not for minimal a decade. The culture I see so many on here bashing is more than Bosken. Coach has this thing built to last! What you’d see is Cleveland keep rolling & another rise up somewhere. But I for one hope that day never comes. Hope he’s old and grey bringing his grand kids to JWC showing them what he & Knox built!

  4. Cincinnati Bengals hung the franchise tag on Oak Ridger, Tee Higgins yesterday for $29 million for next season. I just wanted to recognize that this could not happen to a finer young man. When Tee was in middle school, anybody that saw him play football and especially basketball knew that OR community had something special coming up. We are used to great athletes around here, but Tee was different. As a freshmen he returned a kickoff for a TD at Halls, we got a glimpse. Later that year he started as a freshmen in basketball. When he Air Jordan dunked from the free throw line, left handed, over the Clinton starting five, our students shouted, "He's a freshmen, He's a freshmen!". That dunk made ESPN SportsCenter, we knew then, this kid is special. Tee, by all accounts, was a great teammate, and without question was the hardest worker on the team, both sports. He still comes to the Ridge regularly, and he is just the same friendly, humble and polite guy that he has always been. Tee is proud of his community and where he comes from, and he gives back in ways that nobody will ever know about. Great story. If people knew what Tee has overcome to get where he is, let's just say it could be an ESPN 30 for 30 special. So, congratulations to Tee and Lady and family. And selfishly, I can finally say that I am finally friends with a millionaire as I slave away in the mines! Go Cats!

  5. I think it’s more fun being an underdog unlike the past few years. Not many had high hopes for this Westview team after losing Harrison and then solid role players in Brigance and Chester from last year’s team and then Simpson went down again three days into practice and then their freshman point guard that can ball goes down less than halfway through season, but these girls have fought their tails off and made it back to substate with a chance to make it back to state. Westview fans are going to always support no matter what! I love the rivalry and wish both the best the rest of the season!!

  6. Good game by Westview. Girls fought hard and y'all took it to us first half. Y'all were really pumped up. Big time atmosphere from both fan bases. Proud of our girls for grinding it out. Two great programs. Good luck to y'all going forward. Maybe one of us will win it.

  7. Josh and I have had our differences during the AAU years but never once have I ever doubted his coaching , passion , work ethic and special ability to transition from the beginners to fine tuning the elite! But Josh also has surrounded himself with exceptional people that compliment the program! Joey Knox is an exceptional coach and as the high school coach gets over looked! He too developed talent as good as anyone. He is passionate and involved in the development and youth’s development also!! Matt High is also “ the man”he could be a head coach at most any school in Tn , Ga or anywhere! In my opinion Matt plays a huge roll in the program and is so humble and gets the job done. He is a key and back bone in the development of kids and cleveland also has others as well. The youth program is key in most programs and Cleveland has set the bar. Boskin worked his butt off and surrounded himself with the right people and that’s how things get built! I have major respect for them and the coaches they have assembled that will keep their dynasty rolling. Now if you take Knox, Boskin and High away then Rome could fall but until that happens!! They will be awesome and hope we get to keep wrestle them. They have the support , passionate coaches and facility as well as some passionate support. Then you have TBell that just wishes he had been Knox High and Boskin trained!!! lol

  8. But as Bradly has recently shown us, if you sit on what you got & not focus on your youth, eventually the cupboard will run dry. Culture from top to bottom. How many high school state champs & placers are at AAU state the following weekend coaching the youth program? Cleveland does every year.

  9. Trey I have been trying to tell everyone this all season but they did not want to believe me. Cleveland Raiders have a national type team. Cleveland Raiders could travel around the US and beat a whole lot of high school wrestling teams. I guarantee it. I know you do not want to bet me because you like Cleveland Raiders already. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

  10. Cleveland Raiders have the best wrestlers in the state overall. Cleveland Raiders have kids come from all around because they are good wrestlers and they want to win. Cleveland Raiders might be one of the best all time wrestling teams. Cleveland Raiders were just to good for everyone else this season. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

  12. This is an opinion question that I have heard argued both ways.... If you have a coach that consistently wins 18-22 regular season games a year and consistently stays atop of their district standings but then they get put out every year either in the region quarter-finals or region-semi finals, are they considered a good coach? 1) Are they a good coach because they consistently stay competitive due to their regular season schedule and district record? or 2) Are they a bad coach because they can never get over the hump and win the big games?

  13. I think GC is the better overall team with the best player, but I don't know what the free throw disparity was tonight...but it seemed a bit one-sided. I don't remember WV shooting a free throw?? Props to WV for making it a game, but GC made the adjustments they needed at half. It was a good game and hopefully we'll see a Part 5. Congrats GC! 34-1 and rolling.

  16. Yes it was! I was there last night and they were terrible in that game as well. Halfway into the game, The players were afraid to play defense for fear of fouling out.

  17. I have never had a problem with you and think the world of your son!! Your comments in this post says all I need to know. Great response. I like the response and wrestling families are like no other!! it’s an amazing journey! Bettet enjoy the AAU years because it doesn’t last long and you blink and you only have 4 years left!!!!

  18. Agreed! Problem is we have to see them again tomorrow night with the boys! They were terrible both ways.

  19. I have no issue with you at all. You stir the pot a lot and to me it’s no big deal. You are blue blooded but as your son progresses , you will learn that many of the battles you fight and pots you stir are irrelevant!

  22. Better yet, go ahead do a match by match hypothetical against #41 - 50. Enlighten us with your knowledge of Fab 50 teams and all the kids on their rosters.

  23. That’s because without looking you could not name 5 teams in the Top 50 not named Wyoming Seminary or Blair Academy. Our results at the national level would say otherwise.

  28. Cleveland is a good team for Tennessee and even the Southeast but they are far from being a national level team. Personally I don’t know of a single team in the Top 50 nationally that they could beat.

  29. These kids know when these coaches are genuine and love them more than just for the sport. Integrity and character can’t be faked. You having someone in your corner who believes in you goes a long long way. Cleveland is a special place.

  31. Upperman is going to play to win without a doubt. The question is does Upperman have the fire power to win against a physically superior team?

  32. You can’t just snap your finger and replace him. The man has a gift with kids… first time meeting him kids love him. He can jump them and then be all over him two minutes later. He can go from a 1st grader and to a senior within 5 minutes. So please don’t act like it’s as simple as you make it or HCWC wouldn’t be the big dog around the south.

  35. The Lady Bulldogs take on the Admirals tonight for the region title. It has been a hard team to be with all year. We lost them once this year, but I can’t see that happening again. Hopefully, this year, the TSAA can actually set up a bracket properly and not put the best teams in the state, Bearden & Bradley, up against each other IN THE FIRST ROUND.

  36. Far from “exposed” last night. Although they trailed by 16 they clawed back and had a three rattle off the rim that would’ve won the game at the buzzer. How did the Haywood game go?

  37. Ignore that other fool, but I don't see Nix going down imo. Maryville quit getting kids in and Alcoa still is out there killing yall, SD, Carter and other places. That's the difference in the two programs

  40. But, it's "The Battle of the Bridge"! This is serious business. One needs to experience this setting at least onest. And not have to hear Packer

  41. Yeah, it's seems a strange fit, but knowing SC, he will figure out what they can do well. Watch out for the backside chop. Haw. I'm a fan when they're not playing OR. What about Harig vs Cummings in "the Battle", I may have to go to that one.

  44. Bearettes are losing tonight . But seriously I think they put it on us pretty good tonight. Beating them at home is near impossible and they are playing better than ever right now. You look at the other 15 teams left and it’s hard to see anyone beating them.
