Anybody noticed Greenfield plays today and "Greenfield Fan" is still posting about these girls? Its state championship week!3 points
-
No that wouldn't help because who wants to play the Gibson County Region or the Upper Cumberland Region every year?? You think that would be fair?? TSSAA is doing a blind draw like they have been. No way they plug in these matchups. Just unlucky if you're not happy.3 points

3 better teams I've seen. 1. Riverdale 2017 (USA Today National Champions) 2. Hamilton Heights 2020 (2 McDonald's All Americans) 3. Webb Bell Buckle 2023 (5 Power 5 kids)2 points

MCS has made the mistake of bringing in outsiders from knox co etc to administrate their system. All of the covid bs was terrible and I had words with several of them about that. My last 2 sons that played , we couldnt go onto the field after the games but we could all bunch up in the corner by the stadium. It was nothing but a power play. I told the top 2 after we beat the heck out of Farragut that is was a darn shame that we couldnt go onto the field that we paid for bit that they could. So I told the AD that the Sr players and the parents were going onto the field the next game and he could be a hero and set it up, we went on the field. Again these arrogant bloated administrations and their heavy handed discipline of our children are the problem. I bucked them and I beat them all the time from cell policies to other bs issues that they created. When you , the parent stand ip to them they fold like a chair. The problems at MCS is all the left wing admins from outside MARYVILLE. MARYVILLE has always been different because they paved their own way but they have been infiltrated and weakened by the weak knox co infiltrators. Having said that there are a few little red faced guys running around like they own the place that need to hang it up... you cant go back Brent so leave the kids alone. No you could NEVER control me and you never will lmao.1 point

Rotate the regions 1 vs 8 then the next year vs 7 and down to 5 and start over with the stipulation that no one plays a team from their district until finals1 point

Agree with @Booger here, no one has been upset about those boarding schools until the last half-decade. Why would McCallie or Baylor volunteer to play a national schedule @FBfan26 ? You ain't from around these parts or ain't ever visited on a Friday night in the Fall, so hear it from someone who has... those two schools care about one thing when it comes to football. Beating the crosstown rival... and for the past half-decade if you win that game, you're in a spot to win a gold ball. When I meet grown adults in Chattanooga and get to talking, they ask "Where did you go to school?" I always reply UTC for undergrad and Vanderbilt for grad school. The response is always "No, did you go to Baylor or McCallie?" It's different around here, man. This quite literally is life. I imagine they both care zero about playing schools like IMG Academy, Bishop Gorman, etc. What would either gain from that?1 point

I guess you all are right, Hard to talk about 3 or 4 classes and not discuss privates. Of course when the voucher system goes into effect along with the one transfer with no penalty of sitting out a year and the NIL coming into the high school ranks, then it will be like the wild wild west.1 point

There has been more crying about the draw this year than ever before. Beat who you match-up with and It won't matter everybody is playing for the Gold Ball.1 point

You are speaking on south central. It's embarrassing to watch. I will say they didn't call in favor of the other team it just they are that incompetent. They are the worst in the entire southeast of the United States. They sent a guy to the state tournament last year and he had 36 fouls called in one game. Everyone wants to talk about join TSSAA,.. how about stop allowing any and everybody to join because that is exactly what South Central does and you still can't make chicken salad out of chicken turds. There needs to be legitimate training and classroom sessions for new refs. Stop putting them on big time games until they prove they are ready. The old guys need to be pushed out because they are way too soft when it comes to taking stuff from coaches. Update their court mechanics instead of looking like robots out there and understand basketball is indeed a contact sport. TSSAA has a big issue when it comes to South Central Association and something needs and must be done. They are an embarrassment to the state and the game of basketball.1 point

I'm so proud of our team, school, and community. They showed up and showed off Monday night. That is the most Cookeville fans that have ever been in that gym and surely rivals the biggest crowd in general to ever attend a game there. Literally the only seats available were the first two rows in the top bleachers. I assume because you can't see over the rail. Cavs have 7 kids that can play. 7 that could start and be productive on 98% of teams in the state. Obviously we have some good young talent behind them on the bench, but that 7 man rotation has been special. 2 of the 4 seniors have already signed/committed D2 and someone is going to get a steal with Colin Ayers. Go Cavs, Beat Maryville!1 point

Anyone with half a brain knows that good athletic programs help the culture of the school. It brings community in and their support. Schools who have good athletic programs also have good test scores. When leaders go away from that then the school will take a turn for the worse. It seems like this is happening at Maryville from what you have said. I still believe that once ya'll went to 6A it was the beginning of the end for football1 point

I am not sure about these! There is this really good third grader in East Tn!!!!!! How about you actually let them compete in Cadets and Juniors before you start crowning them champions! I know this has turned into the Elementary/middle school espy awards, but let’s see what happens during competition.1 point

Yeah and? It sounds like you’re mad that your team didn’t make it to Sectionals. Heritage played their tails off and made a heck of a run. Lost by 5 in OT.1 point

Didn’t happen. It was a neck & neck game. Heritage lost by 5 in OT.1 point

Soo… how many transfers played for Alcoa this year? lol that’s a wonderful story, but you avoided the overall point. Being one of the biggest 3A schools while at the same time having SEVERAL transfers each year has just as much to do with the success as the summer workouts that apparently Alcoa invented according to you. hawkdad approves.1 point

I truly don’t think TSSAA purposely screws teams with the bracket. There is no benefit to TSSAA to putting the best teams on one side of the bracket. They don’t make more money by doing that. I don’t think they’ll ever go back to live draw with coaches in attendance. It was tough on coaches from far east TN and far west TN to drive up for the draw then go home just to drive back a couple days later. However, there is no reason for TSSAA not to livestream the draw to avoid any appearance of dishonesty1 point

I'm beginning to wonder if this is a "healthy" fascination or something a little more obsessive than that.1 point

The TSSAA is merely responding to the trend around the country and when the state tries to push "school choice" down everyone's throat, there is only so much they can do. The best coaches adapt to their situation. I believe Derek Hunt is a very good coach but a refusal to accept this as the norm going forward is going to lead to some rough years. Biggest crutch for Maryville has been QB play. Maryville used to be the gold standard at that position, cranking out a FBS or FCS QB every 2-3 years. It allowed them to be truly balanced and take whatever the defense gave them, which is still pretty rare at this level. Maryville has been too good over the last 50-55 years to stay down for long1 point
