There are schools in West Tennessee that are creating a “seperate” school to keep their enrollment numbers down. Surely TSSAA will do something about this. Maybe that is why they have delayed announcing the new classifications.

They beat Pearl Cohn the first time, but that only makes it harder to win the next one. If there's a second meeting, Pearl now knows exactly what to expect and from who. The old adage you learn more from a loss than a win applies here.

Two from South Pittsburg in 1A and no stats to be found online anywhere. They had two semifinalists last year too. Something smells fishy to me. I promise you there has to be another kid from west TN that would be worthy instead of putting in two from South Pitt just adding more from east TN. I’m curious as to why South Pitt doesn’t put stats online anywhere? Afraid they’re going to get caught with BS stats? Kinda like how they got caught recruiting. Don’t trust anything associated with south Pitt. Just saying.

This game has me nervous. Anytime you play a team with a 2000 yard rusher it's not a gimme. I'm scared that kid can just take over the game, long drives, and they could control TOP. I do expect DCA to win, my prediction is something like 21-17.

Yeah no system is going to be perfectly, but it removes the monotony of the same teams playing each in the 2nd round and Quarters. Also provides a better chance of title game not being lopsided

I have been a part of several state championship and nationally ranked teams. The goal was always to win a state title, and anything less was a bad season. Yes, winning is a great feeling but learning to be a grinder that never allowed your competition to work harder than you was a life lesson that is never forgotten.

T$$AA lacks the ability to vision that scenario of fair balance and annaul rotations.....and for reason they think that since the Private education institutions poor fan following on road trips of longer distance than 7.6 kilometers.....4A 2A and 6A haves a better saturday climax than the rest ....the big blue bloods of D2-AAA may have the worser road followin Booger just sayin

The idea that I have is that only the top 2 teams from each region are automatic qualifiers then use power rating system ( TSSAA already has a relationship with MP) for seeding and just have 1 big bracket seeded 1-32. Maybe an East and West bracket if your worried about travel

Opinions like this are why players and coaches get burned out on football. If your barometer on success is did you win a state title then your going to be dissapointed alot unless you follow Alcoa. Every team should have the goal of winning a state championship, but that shouldn't be the only goal either. Whether your a fan, coach, player, etc. the journey of getting there should be just as much fun as the title game itself

Is really getting to the state championship game and not winning considered being successful. You are either winning a state championship or you’re not reaching your goals and being successful. The definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing and expecting different results.

Could have / should have been 10-0. The 2 games they lost by walkoff FGs should have been W's in my opinion. The other 8 games they had running clocks in the 2nd half. None of that matters now though. 1 bad game and it's round ball time.

Nah, I’ve said it for three years now, they are scared of competition. Now I’m beginning to think they are petrified. They have bounced around so many classifications (2A, 4A, 3A) that they finally just resorted to cheating. (Straight up cheating). They have their guy in the T$$AA and are basically saying “do something about it”. Not sure about decades ago but the past several years they have run from Covington and then Alcoa and a couple of others. Now it’s Westview, Covington and a couple of others. I’ll say it here and coin the wording: Milan is the best 3A school in 2A!

Definitely it’s best shot. They lose QB1, QB2, RB1, RB2, WR1, WR2, TE1 (QB2) and several starters outside of that. Genuinely don’t know where they go at QB next year unless they get out and ‘croot one. The only non-senior QB on the roster is.. rough

Don’t sleep on Beech coming out of the West.

Every offensive weapon we have, besides the RB, basically, and the QB who is still healthy, as of now. Other than that, pretty depleted.

FWIW Maxpreps Strength of schedule rankings. Page .4 West 25.5 Powell 14.6 Again this year, the Knoxville teams have played much tougher competition. So, if Powell beat Page in '21, West beat Page in '22 and '23, doesn't that already make them the "Buffalo Bills"? I think that playing a schedule like that definitely works against them when all of the sudden there is a West or Powell across from you. Could losing 3 SC's in a row to Knox teams be in the back of their heads? Like, oh no,here we go again type thing?

Scoring will be the question for GC. Riding and Reeves are really good. Lannom has been in the program and has a lot of experience. They've got a couple other kids who can absolutely shoot the basketball. I expect them to win with excellent defense and just enough offense. Dixon was really good for Dyersburg down the stretch last year but I don't expect Dyersburg to miss a beat. They have a couple other kids who handle her minutes. With Crawford, Jordan and Strayhorn, they will have the best guards on the floor every night. They have an undersized post player is very athletic. Heavy favorite to repeat in 3A South Side will be really good. They will be great on defense. They have a potential Miss Basketball finalist with Askins. If you don't have top tier guard play, South Side will eat you alive. Bradley Central may not play a single digit game against in-state competition. Pickett Co is the heavy favorite in A. Moore Co, Wayne Co will be really good. Union City is going to surprise some people.

If you make it to the state championship game, your season is no way a failure. In all 3 of those matchups, they were the underdog

Rhea has really competed well this year under a new coach. Especially after last season. I think it will be a tough task with the injuries sustained this past Friday. Rhea has a bright future ahead with Coach Harvey.

Shelbyville 8. WEST 9. East Hamilton 10. Tennessee High How can West, the back to back state champions that just beat Powell at Powell be ranked 8th behind the team they just beat? The real answer is the morons that vote on this, don't actually watch the games. But they ain't paying attention. I have West back in Chattanooga for a shot at the 3 peat. According to Max Preps strength of schedule rankings, West has a sos of 25.5, Powell 14.6, Page .4, yep Point Four! And Seveir Co sos is in the negative. Lol. Like I said somebody ain't paying attention.
