  2. Yes if it was just one game I would give edge to Mckenzie 2 out 3 will be interesting
  3. Today
  4. Go Indians. Whoever wins the rubber match between Wellington and True will most likely advance to state. Last year it was tied 1 to 1 going into the 7th until Wellington went over 120 pitches and South Pitt was forced to forfeit the game.
  5. Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship. Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp. Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
  6. I heard Alabama was at Antioch practice and Colorado has offered QB. Hoping the Bears have a great year.
  7. Cloudland beat North greene today 6-1 to win their first district tournament in school history. I want to give a shout out to these girls who've played together since they were 5. Freshman Reagan Turbyfill has a 1.56 era and is already one of the best pitchers to play here. My little hindcatcher made all tournament and her twin in RF should have as well. I wouldn't sleep on these girls. They host Hancock County monday

  9. I have him down for just 3 high schools. Clinton, LC, and Knox. West. I don't know if he actually played any games for West. I thought he ran into some eligibility issues because of his move from LC to West? He did play college football at Indiana University. Definitely an extremely talented football player.
  10. Where did Rusty Parton go to to coach?
  11. I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.

  15. I heard a rumor about Mr. Thomas the other day that he plans on changing his school once again. Does anyone know if this is true? I hope no other school would be willing to take him up on this.

  18. Who has the best chance of winning the region this year? Harriman returns a lot, Midway returns a lot, Oliver Springs returns a lot, Greenback returns a lot with a second year coach, Rockwood lost a bit, Oakdale lost everyone and Coalfield lost a few, but returns a lot.
  19. Going on over a month now and still nothing, rumor mill or not I think a decision needs to be made. Maybe they don’t have anyone wanting it and maybe rumor mill don’t need it they are taking this long to come to an agreement.
  20. I haven’t been there in years. They still hand out the cheese?
  21. Numbers are down everywhere in HS sports. Bradford with a great tradition for sure. Never know with every school about these numbers.

  23. Jo Byrns was a very solid team last year. Imo, I thought they presented the biggest challenge for us on our path to winning it all last year. I expect them to be in the conversation and one of the final few teams playing in Murfreesboro
