  1. So proud of my cousin. Her grandfather was one of my high school coaches and her grandmother is my 2nd cousin. Yes! Clay County was rooting for Gordonsville.

  2. Since everyone seemed to get off topic about the game. I would like to highlight Gordonsville senior golfer Sophie Linder just won her 4th consecutive Class A Individual State Golf Championship!!! Pretty amazing feat for her. I believe is an Ole Miss commit as.

  3. It's official. Recruiting is the name of the game in HS football now. Well at least it's out on the table now and people can stop pretending that they are not cheating. lol.

  5. There is consistent talk of parents being responsible (because they wanted little Johnny to get a wrestling trophy) but after reading as much as I could find I don't think it was parents. It was a handful of school administrators and coaches with an agenda. Right or wrong they were successful in getting what they wanted. It also seems to me that football was the driver and nothing else really played all that much of a role.

  8. I can deeply understand the issue with players being on the injury list and it is an excuse. Transparency is important. When Mavs lost the QB many were like that's just an excuse well it is/was and it does make a difference. Hopefully OR will play good Friday night and that they show wildcat fans what they are made of. Go Wildcats!

  9. UC won’t complain or make excuses 3 starters was out and I believe 3 that played at around 50% or so , they took their L and made zero excuses, but with so many Gold Balls since 2009 they know how to act , they know what matters and that more hardware, just like Tide fans Have been letting the birds chirp the chirp all year , we know we aren’t near full strength yet , but will be , UC will be fine !!!

  10. Thank you my friend, I feel the same way. I know sometimes I ruffle feathers, but I always try to give an honest assessment. I’m right sometimes. I’m wrong sometimes. I never try to upset people, though sometimes my opinions seem to offend them. Friday I expect a physical game, with good sportsmanship, from two well coached teams and excited fans bases. That said, I stand behind my prediction… BHS 31 SHS 14

  12. Talking about players being out is not an excuse but a fact. The only reason it has been talked about so much is because of how many injuries to key players there has been. Not many schools at all could overcome that.Imagine having a month or so to teach your system to some high school kids. Then imagine since jamboree having to mix and match new players on top of teaching a new system and new way of doing things.Besides all that most of the players you are teaching have never played meaningful snaps. On top of that trying to improve a team that was even worse last year. There is so much more involved than saying we have 3 or 4 talented guys and should beat a machine like Greenville. You have lived in fantasy land all yr and been wrong every week.Instead of admitting you are wrong you make excuses and blame everything but you

  14. I would agree with that. Tough times don't last, but tough people do. I think about the low numbers that TC has right now. Just think about trying to get kids to come out next spring. It will be a challenge, but the ones who are there need to stick it out.

  24. I’d look for another high scoring game considering sf’s defense is suspect. The offense has been rolling here lately and can put up a lot of points. Whitehead runs hard and McFarland sees the field very well. Even against Dresden we actually moved the ball very well despite the score. Sf wins this one though 42-28ish!!!

  25. Yes sir Satterfield started in 85.We went to CB in 88 and got whipped 48-0 regular season but in 87 we beat them twice once in reg season then 12-0 in first round.Coach Mullinax Coached at Tellico when my boys played them he is one of my all time favorite opposing coaches very classy!

  28. A lot of people from Maryville accuse me of being negative on the program but I get that from being such a micro manager from owning a company that it drives you crazy how stupid some people really are soon as you turn your back. I have been around football enough to see problems ahead and those are starting to show their ugly head. Things can be corrected without recreating the wheel here but to those that are going to do that there will be pain involved and a lot of hurt feelings or we can watch Maryville Football slide on down the drain like the famous Kingsport and Oak Ridge teams that were world beaters at one time in history.

  29. yeah you would be. You need to ask your Dr. about anxiety medication. Then, maybe you wouldn't worry so much. I have to give you credit though, your act is comical. Trolled me at first, but now I get the schtick.

  30. I listen to so much unbelievable garbage on a weekly basis that gets told and told and told but a totally different story the by the tenth time. Two weeks ago I had a customer of mine tell me a whopper that if I repeated it everyone would know who and possibly get back to that person but it involved two players and two dads and I know both but to get out and run your mouth downing people you don't know on hear say is BS.

  32. Totally agree, but in one sentence you made my point about Carter and the Hill. Luck and looking like a real deal FB team once or twice a season against a superior opponent is their forte.

  33. I think Boone wins this as long as the punter doesn't boot one off his offensive lineman's back side.

  35. Your QB and RB are exceptional athletes...if you can complete some short passes to open the middle up, you could be a problem for most teams. One glaring flaw that I saw...on the RPO, the QB needs to make better reads. Maybe not reads, but he needs to keep the ball up the gut more. Several times our linebackers shifted into what would have been a one on one with him keeping the ball, yet he stuck it in 22's gut and left it there. One good move on the LB and the safety has to save a touchdown. Don't know SF's style, but they seem to throw the ball around some, could give you problems if the safety creeps up like against us before the snap. Good luck to the Vikings...I'm still a fan of your program from the respect y'all showed my Lions when the Jacob Tucker teams were rolling and we were trying to start a varsity schedule...Go Vikes!!!

  36. A lot of WB's problems have came from not having a good feeder program or any at some times. It was so bad they had to combine two different Junior High Schools that had their own teams and combine them into one which looked good for a while until Shad got control and that has went to ale in a hand basket. I really can't find much about this years team on the internet due to poor publicity from the school which figures. There was so many kids trying to escape to Greenback like it was the Berlin Wall a few years back until General Adolf Von Mikester Casteel started doing address and bed checks on the barracks they were sleeping in so the addresses they gave him matched the correct addresses on the leases to satisfy his commanders at the T$$AA. That guy has been a human wrecking ball for the Greenback Program and a story in itself.

  39. Gotcha, I can't tell anymore who is trolling, who is flaming, who is being sarcastic, who is joking, who is serious on here anymore. lol. There is a lot of frustration and disappointment for sure. But it is not time to start trashing and blaming everybody. Instead, we all need to stick together and support these guys through the tough times, try to slip into a playoff spot and see what we can do in November.

  40. how do you think they have jumped the gun? 3 Region opponents, zero points scored, running clock against all 3. Handled state power Alcoa where Alcoa was throwing everything that they had at West to try to win, including the refs. They will beat Cocke County and Central and probably not give up a point to them, unless Lamar lets them. Their defense is legit. They have playmakers all over the field to score on offense. I am curious on why you think people jumped the gun. If West does not get to the state championship game, they should fire Lamar Brown. This team is so loaded that the only person that can stop them is themselves.

  41. Did you just brag about beating 4 teams that have a combined record of 8-18 and only one having a winning record at 4-3? Then say your QB play is Meh? Thats not good competition my guy. Red Bank is a top 10 4a football team this year which is respect but until they can compete and at least make the Semi's that top level of respect won't be there. Respect is earned not Given!

  42. No doubt at this point in the season, Greeneville has the better record and is the better team. Schedule wise, Oak Ridge has played a tougher schedule mostly without a bunch of key starters. Most were back last week against Pal except Rogers, who is a very athletic type game breaker, who can go to the football and make plays in the defensive secondary, where Pal got most of their points last Friday. Not sure if he will be back for Greeneville, and OR has a short week to get ready for a key Region game on Packervision against Karns on the following Thursday, so he may not play this Friday, SO, I look for this to be a pretty good game, OR is a team that looks to be a click off from being a very good team, and if they put all the pieces together they might can beat anybody, To win, OR must eliminate the turnovers, penalties (especially delay of games) and execute on offense. I think the defense can keep them in any game up to a certain point, last week 10-7 Pal at halftime, but the offense has to do more to score and keep the defense off the field. Greeneville wins, but not a blowout, more like 28-14, and if the Wildcats get a break or two they might get the upset.

  43. Be interesting to see where Huntingdon is. Dyersburg I think will be AAA looks like. I don’t think they are unhappy either. You got South Gibson and South Side going East and you dodge Gibson County, Westview, Huntingdon, Loretto and Summertown to get to state. Two of Dyersburg, Dyer County, Crockett County and Covington will have good shots every year to go to state.
