  1. If you remember, I started this in 1997 but the forums, and therefore the user names, started in 2001 after a year with rivals.com. We make enough to make it worthwhile but I could never figure a way to really monetize it without charging and I just don't want to do that. I am actually considering selling it but only if the new owner will let me stay around and run it, at least for awhile. I am getting old (70) and I don't want the site to die when I do. My wife could do it for awhile but I don't want her to have to. Selling it would give the new owner time to train someone to run it while I'm still around to help. Wow, that is sad talk. Nuff of that.

  2. You wouldn't know what open enrollment was if it hit you in the face. Remove all of them since Alcoa, Oakland, Maryville, & Peabody are all open enrollment

  3. Much respect to Riverside, most of us true Ram fans knew this was going to be a battle to the end and not a blowout. Riverside players and coaches have no reason to hang their heads down, as I believe they will be a major player in 2a again next year. It’s a tough pill to swallow as we were on the bad end of a close championship in 2017. I definitely left being a fan of the Riverside program. As for Tyner, we get to enjoy this but next year we enter Alcoa’s world which will more than likely end badly but it is what it is.

  4. It’s called tuition. Many open zoned school systems charge tuition for out of zone students. School funding is a combination of state funds and local city or county government funds. If a student is not in the zone the school does not receive the local portion of the funding for that student. The tuition is usually equal to the local portion that they do not receive. Most school systems have this in their board policies.

  5. Still trying to get over the shock of Riverside making it to Chattanooga so haven’t really gathered up my thoughts yet. But very proud of the Panthers. They got it done when they had to and more than exceeded everyone’s expectations against Tyner. You could easily say they were the better team. The Rams were good but not to the extent of their hype. But they got it done when it mattered. Riverside more than had their chances but oh well that’s football, turnovers and penalties. Congratulations to both teams on a well played game

  6. Just so everyone knows I sent in a résumé today to be the next coach at LA. BIGPURPLEMACHINE will be the next coach. That is all. Carry on…

  7. Dude if you consider Cookeville "East" Tennessee, and using that as means of justification to move the championship potentially 500+ miles away from certain parts of the state, that's pretty darn out of touch. Throwing Memphis out as an "answer" to Chattanooga is ludicrous. When they hold the Blue Cross Bowl in Bristol, get back to me with the Memphis suggestion.

  8. If you know that Richard Land was his name, that means you must have seen that team play. If you saw them live, there is no way that you really think this Lipscomb team would beat them. Also that Clarksville NE team was undefeated and 14th in the country at that time. Don't think we want to start debating weak schedules. BA only finished 3rd in the country that year, so probably not very good. I believe this Lipscomb team is the best since the MBA teams of early 2000's. Why not enjoy a really impressive season without beating your chest, and trying to bash entire decades? Loads of talent doesn't necessarily make you the best. The 2012 BA team had 5 NFL guys on the team(3 starters, including Jalen Ramsey), and still got beat.

  9. I can't agree more, West beat us (Boone) 73-0 and made it look easy. We will never know but I feel certain this West team was as good as anyone in the entire state.

  10. Congrats to the West Rebs. To one of the best coaching staffs around, and to this special group of seniors, players, band, cheer, dance, students and fans, and all involved. Job well done! Congrats!

  11. CoachT.com has been a lot of fun for me and, hopefully, will be for years to come. It has helped keep me busy during some difficult health issues. Thanks to all of you old-timers and newcomers as well. A lot of the old folks are no longer on this earth. I miss them. Try to keep things positive.

  12. Honestly thought, you can not convince me Alcoa runs a 100% clean program. Zero percent chance that a school is just lucky to have so many good players come through there year in and year out with no drop off.

  16. Some teams are really good together without all the next level talent. There are teams in the 2000s that would give this year’s LA team a good game. One of the Alcoa teams during their 8 year run of gold balls. Lausanne during their 38 game winning streak with Eric Gray. Etc. One of my favorite CPA games was against Peach Tree Ridge who had over 4K students and supposedly 18 D1 players. CPA punched them in the mouth on the first drive and never looked back. Alcoa still beat us in the championship. I think 2014 or 2018 CPA could give 2022 LA a good game. But, there is no mistaking the fact that LA compiled one of the best records / runs of all time this year. Very impressive.

  17. Incorrect. Here is their transfer Policy for residents in system and out of system residents from their School Board Website https://tsbanet-my.sharepoint.com/personal/policy_tsba_net/_layouts/15/onedrive.aspx?id=%2Fpersonal%2Fpolicy_tsba_net%2FDocuments%2FRobertson County%2FMobile%2F6 Students%2F6206.pdf&parent=%2Fpersonal%2Fpolicy_tsba_net%2FDocuments%2FRobertson County%2FMobile%2F6 Students&ga=1 https://tsbanet-my.sharepoint.com/personal/policy_tsba_net/_layouts/15/onedrive.aspx?id=%2Fpersonal%2Fpolicy_tsba_net%2FDocuments%2FRobertson County%2FMobile%2F6 Students%2F6204.pdf&parent=%2Fpersonal%2Fpolicy_tsba_net%2FDocuments%2FRobertson County%2FMobile%2F6 Students&ga=1

  19. All in good fun buddy…that’s what message boards are all about..didn’t mean to make you upset….not trying to beat my chest…just trying to have a fun debate. Go watch MBA vs Clarksville NE 1995 on you tube and get back with me. This is not about LA. It’s more about comparing eras. They are small and SLOW compared to the top teams today.

  21. Regarding rumors and small college athletics...there are indeed a lot of similarities (the power of the almighty dollar!), in colleges it is the alumni who start the rumors in order to initiate change and in D2 it is the parents.

  23. OR will not be playing DB or AC next season. The problem was that TSSAA didn't make universal the weeks designated for region games across classification, In other words, a 5A team's region game weeks won't necessarily match up with a 4 or 6A's region game weeks as preset by TSSAA. OR would have had to play AC or DB in week 2 or week 9, Both DB and AC have region games in week 2 and week 9. So it cannot be done next season. OR will play Powell, Central, McMinn, Farragut and Jeff. Co. non region. Still looking for another game week 2 or 9. The ONLY school that they can find in week two that needs a game is.......... get ready.........wait for it...........Oakland! And that ish ain't gone happen! So, look for OR to have an open date week 2. Ha ha

  29. Yep then if the Nashville area schools are the only ones playing the complaints will be the same but different. Ya Just can't plan it like that. Find a place and play the game and if you have to drive a ways just be GLAD you're getting to,, instead of sitting home.

  31. So which account is the paid member one? Did you just tell on yourself ? You have to have a Star and a CoachT+ for the paid membership and you don't have one. Speaking your mind doesn't make something true, I hate to tell you .

  33. Ive stated this before when every team that wins state claims to be the best ever. By the way that BA team had a 6'7 365lb left tackle(Texas). Their defensive line was as follows: 6'4 255, 6'7 285, 6'2 245, 6'6 260. Not to mention 6'3 and 6'2 receivers. This is the tiny team from the 95 BA squad! I was more of an MBA fan then, but that BA team was the best I have seen in the 46 years I have followed TN high school football(even better than the 72 TN High team). With the big uproar now over financial aid, let's remember then you could only have 3 football players on financial aid actually play. They had the best coaches and unbelievable talent! That BA team had the most dominating defense this state has seen. The starting defense was loaded with college players. Here is their lineup and college they played at: DE Air Force DT MTSU NG nowhere DT Memphis DE Tennessee LB Nebraska LB Georgia Military ( Tito Lee. The best player on the team, but didn't qualify) CB Virginia Tech CB Tennessee SS Vanderbilt FS Tennessee Most of these guys played on offense too. An offense that had receivers that went to Ole Miss and Army, and a tackle that went to Texas.

  34. A higher wage will keep older officials in the game longer. Everyone I saw officiating this weekend had to be a minimum of 60. The 6A game seemed to be called the best of the ones I watched. A development/training program is desperately needed

  35. Well it was a good half of a ball game then someone opened the gate let'em out and that's all she wrote. Oakland is just in a good position where their located and a great magnet for attracting good players. Couldn't blame anyone in the area worth a hoot not to be a part of something like that. Creasy is also a good coach because the wrong man handling dynamite can set off an explosion. Their line just over towers most teams and what I dread when we (Maryville) ends up playing them. Congratulations on another championship and looks like this will be the future for a long long long time.

  36. That makes too much sense for the T$$AA to go for it

  37. Most of the teams this year only had to go about 2 hours or less. That could change yearly but it worked out well this season.

  38. Middle TN gets gutted by your big private schools. I know they are everywhere but they are so much more active in purging midstate schools.

  39. Hard to believe it was like yesterday going over to West and you could hand count all the fans setting in the stands on their side of the field. Cummings helped bring this program out of the grave yard and Coach Brown has taken it to another level. I can see kids wanting to be a part of this program from just what I see from the outside. West could become the new Maryville if they keep this coaching staff intact. Again congratulations on a great season and also any West fans know anything on Lamar Browns background where he is from and been in his coaching tenure, the man has done well

  40. Agree. They did it without all the cheating Alcoa has done as well. They also did it in. 5A, rather than 2A or 3A. They did it without being a private school beating on small public schools like it used to be before DII.
    1 point
  41. Congratulations West! If not the best public school in the state this year, they are definitely in the top 2 teams.

  42. correct, I agree. West has been dominate. I think their passing game caught Page by surprise. West D will pin their ears back now and smother Page’s QB

  43. West went 15-0. The beat Maryville. They beat Alcoa. They beat Powell & Page. They have very quietly had one of the most impressive seasons in TSSAA History. Congratulations to on a State Championship!

  44. I hear that Brothers is a member of the CofC and Nashville Christian School is a CofC school so that may have some weight but who knows. There is also a strong rumor floating around that there could be 2 more D2 coaching changes made before the start of next season. D2 in many ways is nothing more than small college athletics.

  45. I'll never convince you otherwise but being on the "inside" I disagree that LA sold it's soul. My son is a better young man for playing for him. He has grown so much spiritually and has dear friends that look different than he does and that will serve him well. Trent infused energy into a very lethargic campus and brought back pride and passion to not only the football program but the school as a whole. There is a waiting list for almost all grades which has not been the case in a long long time. Hopefully the next coach can achieve some measure of success but I know it will be difficult.

  46. Well… at least it was warmer than I thought it would be at the game. I’m proud of our guys getting to play again on the last day of the season.

  47. Alcoa will be a contender. They return pretty much everyone. One of their best players injured her knee and did not play most of the year.
