Peabody’s schedule is far from the toughest in 1a and 2a. Greenfield, Halls, Humboldt, West Carroll? Come on man.

Have you guys thought about trying out the double wing offense? A few of your starters, including the QB, ran it when they played for Medina Middle. I realize people end up different places for different reasons, but you can take that “these kids were all born and raised in Trenton” fairy tale elsewhere and see if anyone buys it. Trenton has another very good team and an outstanding program. Iron out a few wrinkles and you could be lifting yet another Gold Ball in a few months. But excuses and passive-aggressive insults of a team that allowed you 36 total yards of offense in 2 quarters won’t get you any closer to that goal.

If I remember correctly, they used to grill some killer burgers on the grill for the concession stand.. It's been a while since we been up there.

I don’t know about Stone Memorial making that big of jump. They were 4-7 last year and 1 win was a COVID win. 6 games they scored 20 and under. They also scored less and gave up more points at the end of the season. They averaged about 19.5 points a game, while giving up 29.7 points a game (based on 10 played games). I tend to focus on ones verses ones. The top 4-5 teams In 4A score big and give up very few points. I believe Milan, South Doyle and a couple of other new 4A teams will resemble that as well.

I wouldn’t say getting man handled in the Quarters two years ago was making noise in the play off’s especially when that team that man handled them got man handled the next week by Betsy. With MC, Tullahoma, and PC playing the west side of the bracket this year I could see an Upperman or MC being competitive with those Chattanooga teams they will face until the Semi’s. I don’t think anyone is over looking them either they just aren’t on the Level as the other teams in the East I’ve mentioned like Betsy, Greeneville, AC, or SD with what they have coming back for all 4 teams.

I reckon those are choices every person must make for themselves regardless of what they decide. Not everyone agrees, I suppose that’s why there’s coke and Pepsi, even some RC around to lol.

Maybe he takes a year off if he can’t find the right job? There’s a reason he’s been rumored for multiple private schools jobs these last few years. As far as relaxing that guy is a coach for life and its how he relaxes. People that know him well know he doesn’t golf or do many things other than ride his bike. He’s a HOF coach and arguably the best ever in the state. The school he goes to has to be able to win IMO. If this really is his last year I hope he wins another gold ball. Great coach and even better person.

After the game I walked across the field where all the parents and team were gathering to get to my car and I thought I was in the land of the giants when I saw some of those young men for Oak Ridge and talk about boy's that have been working out this winter, unbelievable. They didn't make them like that when I played. Will be pulling for you all as my second favorite team besides Maryville as usual.

But if not all Coach T readers will get to enjoy another good year of SHADROACH if this new plan don't workout.

Rest in peace Curtis Kelly. What a tremendous Pirate he was. He graduated in 1978. He was hit in a head on collision on old 41. Prayer's for the family. I can't remember the year, but the hardest hit I've ever seen in highschool football was between Curtis and Jerry Bryant from Grundy County. It knocked both of them out, but both were tough guys and were back in the game shortly. Going to miss you my friend!

I just texted my ref friend from Knoxville. Anderson County beat a strong Knoxville Catholic team 3-0 in a scrimmage this week and I think Catholic will be State Champion in private school this season, and he said he is refing a play day today in Knoxville and Anderson County beat Farragut, Hardin Valley and Grace pretty easily. I remember last year they were in the State Finals and took a game against Nolansville in the finals and had them on the ropes in the 4th set, so I would expect them to be the team to beat. They were in AAA for 8 years, if you subtract that they have been in 6 of the last 14 AA State finals and in 14 of the last 14 final fours so I would expect them to be the heavy favorites.

Other than the Long run by Vaughn I thought Oak Ridge played good against the Run ... Carson was able to pick the secondary apart though ... I'm sure that'll be one of the best passing teams that Oak Ridge sees this year . Oak Ridge QB looked pretty good to me , plus Oak Ridge has some nice Receivers . I bet Oak ridge will improve a bunch as the season goes along and will be dangerous come playoff time ... That's been Oak Ridge's M.O. the last few seasons . Good luck this year Sweet !

USA Today just showed the state of Tennessee some love. They named Brentwood Volleyball their National Team of the Year.....in ALL SPORTS, not just volleyball. Congrats to Coach Campbell for one more award she can add to her massive collection. Congrats to the Lady Bruins.
