  1. Tell me about it. I was offered a job today with the condition that I have to get the vaccine. I told them to shove it. I will not give in to the coercion and fear. This country is in a sad state and things are only going further downhill.

  3. First of all, I didn't create this thread. I simply opined as a guy who has ties and history with both the Powell and Maryville programs. Secondly, I have a ton of respect for both Davy Gillum and Gary Terry and the program they have built at AC. Gary is a good friend and I would never discount the AC program in any way. This thread was about the Maryville/Powell game. I promise you that nobody is overlooking AC. The series between Powell and AC is a great one, and recent history says that AC will bring all they have in the Powell game. Powell has a target on their backs and will get all they can handle and then some in that game and everybody on their schedule will give Powell their best effort. AC has always been a though game for Powell, Not sure what issues you have with me, but if you don't like what I post I invite you to either put me on ignore or get a better handle on reading comprehension. Bottom line: The Powell/AC and Powell/Maryville games are going to be great tests for all of the teams involved, but in the grand scheme of things they really don't mean a thing. They are non region/non classification games. They are being played to prepare the teams for seeing good teams come playoff time. That's when it really counts. Get the chip off of your shoulder. Nobody is dissing AC.

  4. I hope this is the first of many for a hard working Wildcat...Jacob Berven. Lyon College, a NAIA school in Batesville, Arkansas, has offered Jacob a scholarship

  5. LOL noonesfool This was in my opinion one of the biggest games of all last year. And I expect it to be another Barn Burner. AC will be the underdog without saying and will need to prove they are good enough for this tough schedule. Powell boasting they are as good as 6A Maryville and I am not questioning that either way. I do feel AC will win this one at this point. I think Powell will be there own worst enemy..... fundamental mistakes! IMO confusion on what AC throws and runs.

  8. He is, they got the best QB in our region and maybe y’all’s too, kid can play, they lost some talent just like we did, they have a tougher schedule this year so the record may take a step back but they won’t take a big step back in competitiveness. It will be a slobberknocker on OCT29 on the CREEKBANK!

  10. I know Powell has a very good team, and I for one am looking forward to next week's match up at Powell as the Anderson County Mavericks come over the hill. Last season , it came down to the last play of the game, and both teams return basically their whole team from last season. I know Powell got a huge pick up on the DL, so with that being said they have an advantage there. However, I think any Powell fan will agree that this was the best game they saw last season, and I can't wait to watch this one . Potts and Martinez will put on a show for sure. They are good friends as I understand having competed against each other on the 7v7 circuits, and are very familiar with the personnel on both teams. I know Powell has some great receivers with offers from everywhere, but they were same group that lined up against the same group of corners that AC had last season, so that should be another great game inside the game to watch. I know AC has thrown the ball all winter, so they should be very efficient at that. Gavin Noe is a bruising 220 pound back that can move. He will be another part of the game that fans will be watching. Powell should open all the parking they have next Friday as I would expect a Giant crowd to come see this game. I look for this to be the game of the night next Friday. I am not picking scores, but I am saying this game may be one you won't want to miss.

  11. After seeing what they did to Farragut with out the recruit they dang pretty good team. If one of there best receivers was out which I saw a kid in a walking boot. They still had 4 other receivers that were pretty dang good along with the running back.

  12. Great post! I've witnessed the turnaround of our program and alot if not all of what TCRadio said about culture and coaching is true.

  15. It does have to do with coaching too but I would say mostly the culture, these kids dream of bringing another gold ball to Trousdale County, winning is the expectation not the goal, sure there has been years we benefited from a weaker region that kept our playoff streak alive, but when you play TC, you know you're going to have to earn it! Years ago the Jr. Pro and MS ran the same offense as the HS but I'm not around those programs much so i'm not for sure now, @RTD may be able to answer that question better. "The more things change, the more they stay the same"

  16. Mavs, I don't think Powell needs any extra motivation against AC. Based on personal experience, those kids would MUCH rather go home with a W against AC.

  18. All those L you'll take in the playoffs. But to give Watertown credit TC took some L’s doing the regular season for past few years as well. But no trash talking this year I don't know how good or the type of team TC has this year.

  22. Yeah I thought the same thing when Alcoa played Murval last yr and had (starting players) 10-D1 and 4-d2 players on the field for us. Murval had like 5-6 college kids on the field. No way Murval wins no way we lost 14-9

  24. I was glad to get vaccinated back in December but fully support the right to choose whether or not someone wants it as well. This “panic” isn’t as sky is falling as last round. I expect this annual “spike” to continue for years to come. This bug is very similar to the type of bug that causes the flu and dozens of other seasonal viral illnesses all of which have various levels of mortality. They all go through regular mutations hence the need for annual flu vaccination or boosters for others and some just don’t have vaccines at all. Regardless of whether or not someone chooses to be vaccinated or not is a personal choice just like how one chooses to defend themselves or their families or even if they choose to do so at all. At the end of the day we will endure the inconvenience and at times encroachment upon our daily lives much like we have many times before (Spanish flu, polio, TB etc.) and in the end I do believe this to shall pass. There are a lot of things to consider but at the end of the day I’ve gotta have faith that God is in control of all of this including the government and who is in positions of powers whether or not I can understand why is irrelevant. Romans 13:1-2 says (paraphrasing) to obey the government because they were put there by God. Our pitiful human minds just aren’t capable of comprehending why a lot of times. We get caught up in life, death and earthly works because that’s all we know. But when you put your faith and trust into a supernatural being who is outside of time, has power over death, controls the atoms and molecules, and is the creator of the universe and all things in it then I guess you have to have faith that he can handle the direction our little lives go in until he sees fit to take us home I reckon.

  27. Any other year I say it would be an upset. Powell has too many weapons for this game to be called an upset if Powell does happen to win. That is no slight to Maryville, because I believe they are still the better team but not sure they can match the athletes Powell will have this one year together. I'm a big fan of Quarles because he always found a way to win this type of game so it'll be interesting to see if Hunt can do the same. I said yesterday Maryville will need to control the clock to keep Potts off the field. If Maryville is up at Halftime, I see them bleeding it out in the 3rd QTR like they have so many times before.
