  2. 2019 9-3 2020 10-2 (region champs) 2021 10-3 (region champs) However lets talk about the three loses. 1) Alcoa 3A state champs 2) Elizabethton who was the two time defending state champs and at the time they played Rhea co 34-1 in the past 35 games. And then they went on to get runner up in double OT in the 4a title game. 3) Powell 5a state champs with the #1 player in the country on their team. And just to add to the narrative, all 3 games on the road. I'm not sure where you got "nothing" from but they are playing alot of young guys this year. I think starting two seniors at most. Eagles will shock some people if they keep downplaying them.

  4. 4 schools chose to play up the last time reclassification happened. Jackson County played up in 2a Milan, Wooddale, and Pearl Cohn all played up in 4a The BIG QUESTION is... Who will chose to play up in the next cycle? Everyone that doesn't want to deal with Alcoa, starts the rumor that they will be playing up. Will that be true? Only coach Nix knows! Interested in seeing the rumors...

  5. He is from West Carroll. No sparring between Peabody and Huntingdon because both fan bases have a ton of respect for each other. Wait until next week when we play West Carroll, he will not post all week. We played West Carroll twice last year and they didn’t pick up a single first down on our defense in either game. He bashes everything about Trenton, and when someone asks him why he is so negative towards our kids all you hear is crickets.

  6. Yep, as Darryl Royal famously said “Dance with the one who brung you”. The Chargers' bread and butter is our rushing attack.

  11. I am usually for the Rebels but I am going for West this year. West typically is like the Mavs do not get the recognition they probably deserve. This game could go either way. On a Friday night when two good teams come together it's who ever wants it the most; second efforts and perseverance. Good luck to both teams and an injury free game for the playoffs.

  15. Agreed, I was off by a year with him starting. Colin was a good qb and could have been a good mentor for how to handle and go about things. It’s hard to win a game when the offense doesn’t finish drives in the red zone. Friday will be a test with Campbell County coming in as well, will they be able to keep up with them because I expect CC to put some points on the board.

  16. I'm anxious to see Mase against Halls.Im sure they are very talented with what they did last year.Im certain they are better than LC on defense as most of the top 7 0r 8 teams probably are.Hear Mase has a very good running back.So I'm wanting to see what they do on offense. They should score at least 40 points.

  21. Most interesting statement from TSSAA website: To be able to guarantee schools Friday-night region contests and better manage the current shortage of officials in many areas of the state, the state office will be setting the region football schedules for 2023 and 2024. The completed region schedules will be posted to the TSSAA website on November 21 at 1 PM central time (2 PM eastern). Region games will be scheduled from Week 3 through Week 11 with a small number of Week 1 and 2 games possible for the largest regions or in areas where there are fewer officiating crews available. Every school will play a Week 11 region game. Week 11 games for Classes 1A/3A/5A/DII-A/DII-AAA will be scheduled for Thursday in 2023 and Friday in 2024. Week 11 games for Classes 2A/4A/6A/DII-AA will be scheduled for Friday in 2023 and Thursday in 2024. Schools will be able to schedule non-region games once the region schedules are published on November 21.

  27. Memphis has 11 schools which will probably give them 2 regions (7 & 8). If that happens it will cause a ripple effect. Region 6 could be Huntington, Peabody, JCM, Gibson, Milan, Liberty. Region 7 could be East Hickman, Hickman, Lewis, Riverside, Waverly, Camden, Adamsville. Region 4 Cascade, Summertown, Mt. Pleasant, Loretto, Forrest, Harpeth. Fayetteville could move further East.

  29. I said from the beginning that 5 wins would be a successful season, I wasn’t counting on Shelbyville being so weak, so 6 wins could have been a achieved. It has been very disappointing that the offensive play caller did not adjust throughout the year to play into these player’s strengths. The offensive game plan and play calling is the problem….the defense has played pretty well!!!

  30. Explain this to me .Nothing against teams in the top 10.But how in the world would McEwen be picked over Lake Co?They lost to Dresden which I understand.Lake Co loses to Haywood. So who lost to a tougher team? McEwen lost to Camden.Lake Co lost to Union City.Who lost to better team?McEwen lost to Gleason.Lake Co lost to Trenton.Who lost to stronger team? Both at 5-3 from What I saw in standings.Am I missing something?LC scrimmage Camden and won about 8tds to 1.That shows voters have no clue comparing McEwen losses to Lake County's.

  31. The one thing that stands out to me this year in the Class 1A poll is the AP voters had MASE already plugged in at #4 with a 1st place vote in week 1. My point being, I don't think I've seen a team finish so low the year before and then be ranked so high the following year.

  32. I think catholic might surprise them it's hard to gaige their strength since they're D2. But I think it'll be a close game with catholic coming out on top 31-28

  33. Why would they put 9 in one region (region 2) and 6 or less in the others. No way that can work?

  34. Our northern big brother Westview sure has bounced back like a champ from their first two losses, & still have room to improve. Their peaking at the right time, and now will be the time for them to do a Gold-ball repeat, which is tough to do. Next year they’re back in 3A, which is super-duper tough & very rare to get by the elite programs there. So Chargers.. charge it up even more the rest of this season & chaaaaaarge ahead in 2A & DO IT AGAIN!

  35. This argument gets old. The coaches KNOW the strengths. ONE MAJOR strength not utilized last Friday was SPEED. Tullahoma was SO MUCH faster than LC. Run your sweeps, screens with a trips set, and counters. Put the ball in the hands of the playmakers. Why do we not run more misdirection and play action? Play action is way more effective under center, but that's for another discussion. They just continue to gameplan like they had last year's team. Knowing what to do and refusing to do it is on them. You'll probably think I'm bragging but I think my critique is credible. I played and coached on the high school level with several region titles, and I have a ring to my credit just like Coach Olive. I try to get on here and actually give my reasoning behind what I see from the stands instead of just blasting things on here just to let out frustrations. I try to create banter because I like to see what other's opinions are. The ones that just yell that we need a new quarterback or whatever without an explanation are ignored by me as well. I do agree with you on the support of the Tullahoma community. I've been to games this year. I've seen the stadium half full. That's on other folks. Not on me. I've not once said anything about the quarterback. You need to reply to the person that posted it. As far as the excuse of not having a good team despite coaching "tails off", no one in their right mind expected a state title run. THIS team should have won 6 games easily due to decent talent returning and terrible competition in the region. They should have been a playoff team with a first round exit at worst. There is still an outside shot of getting in and exceeding expectations which I hope they do. Also the silly point that actually weakens your argument is the kids don't look stronger as the year goes on due to not being interested or working hard in the weight room. THAT'S COACHING. You make the players workout in the weight room in front of you. A coach should be at the 3 major stations making sure reps are put in. If this isn't the case, it's just laziness. I hope the team rises to the occasion and finishes strong. I'll stop my critiquing for the year and turn it over to some on here that are apparently more knowledgable than me. I wanted to see what all the hype was about this Franklin kid for Cornersville High so I'm going out to see how he fairs against Moore County.

  43. Great example of paying dues, working your way up, and reaping the benefits of some great things that have been sown. As a retired coach myself, I appreciated reading about the struggles encountered in the early years because I know how tough they can be. High school football is not easy and when you catch lightning in a bottle what a magic carpet ride it can be! I hope Coach Olive gets to retire from the AD position as he wishes and that he will be blessed with a good measure of health to build as many ramps as he can! May he and his wife enjoy those grandkids and spoil them tremendously. Time flies, and it seems he is finally able to reflect and smell the roses. Enjoy the sweet scent of a life full of blessings.

  44. Now I told y'all how this mess was gonna end. You think I'm jokin, but I'm not! Sometimes, in my heart of hearts, I wonder what a team from the Basin could accomplish without the politics, corruption, abuse, and indifference that exists on our end of the county. I noticed it a little earlier than most, but the brand began to die the day Pat Daley left and we let the wrong people run amok. They have been determined since they were granted impunity to destroy any good thing that exists within the program and ultimately, the program itself. It's a clown show and we live in a clown world. Turns out that when you remove the appeal that drew the youngins out, they stop coming! Who'dve thunked it?

  45. If we have even the slightest bit of sense, we will control the clock in this one. Best case scenario, we force a low scoring ball game, play good defense, and bank that our offense will get home more than Clay's. I like @TheCommander prediction. Basin is struggling with XP with the kicker out so I look for this one to be decided by 2pt %. If Basin is at least 50% on 2pt, I think the Cougs take the cake and go see Croz. Also, happy Senior Night to all those young cats.

  46. I pride myself on being objective. I would like to say that first and foremost and I feel like most of the people on this site can attest to that. I call it how I see it. Your assessment is fair. You just won a big game in an upset. I am happy for you. However, there are a few things I would like to point out. First, don't judge our program by a few heated fans aimlessly yelling, and in turn, I won't judge yours for punching an elderly wheelchair bound Cougar fan after the game. Second, I don't think you understand football in the slightest bit if you think the players were "chilling on pregame markups." They were watching your team's offensive formations. You'd be surprised how many teams practice new formations or show personnel swaps in warmups. I saw those players and they are senior leaders on the team and don't "chill" on anything. I used to do the same thing myself. Third, most football guys in the Basin saw Central as a sleeper team. No one underestimated them, and I know that it may take away from the sweetness of the victory, but it's true. We came into the game knowing we were starting a QB that other than 2 quarters last week, hasn't played a big time snap at QB since he was in the 8th grade. Fourth, the player you're referencing is #77 Chance Rollins. He is a stud offensive lineman with a few double digit pancake games this year. Pre-season All State. D1 offer. 6'4 320lb senior leader and anchor of the offensive line. He got plenty of pancakes during this one, and they will likely be on his highlight film afterward if you want to watch. Fifth, our 2nd string QB was pulled after an injury before the half. We played the entire 2nd half with a selfless senior receiver taking the snaps. He has never played QB, in practice or otherwise, in this offense. Sixth, finally, the penalties. I only disagreed with 2 calls. The tripping call and the defensive hold during a running play. Those were very liberal calls and one squashed momentum while the other sealed the defeat. And as for Grabowski's personal foul, I expected his reaction and admonish him for it. Had I been on the sidelines after those two calls, I would have done the exact same thing. That's all I have to say. Good luck to the Chargers for the rest of the season and congrats on the win. We had some sore losers, but you don't help that by being a sore winner.
