  2. Anyone know anything about these recent scrimmages? West @ Gibbs 5/10 OR @ William Blount 5/10 Clinton vs Loudon 5/9 Bearden @ Centeal 5/10
  3. Anyone know how the scrimmage vs Oakland @ TTU went?
  4. Anyone know how the scrimmage at Central went?
  5. I grew up watching Greene Devil Football since I could walk and still close with a lot of the coaches so should know my history pretty well lol. Everything worked out the way it should have but firmly believe McCurry would have won some State Title if he wouldn't been let go (Greeneville still runs the same D he brought here and he let Ballard run the O and stayed out of it when it came to calling plays. Greeneville was put out in the Semi's McCurry's last year against Maryville and the next year Greeneville stayed in 4a and was State Runner up playing were they were placed for the first time by the TSSAA.). It was definitely a McCurry and Ballard show that turned everything around along with the Community buying in and revamping the weight room and field house. Since Ballard got promoted to HC every Coach after him has been within the Greeneville Coaching staff because your right, they know what it takes to win a state championship. Ballard was a master mine on O and what i think Greeneville has lacked since he left and let some Championships or making it to the Championship slip away over the last few years
  6. I heard an assistant form one of the schools in Jackson applied for the job
  7. Today
  8. Thanks. Didn't know Manu transferred. That's unfortunate, because he Looked like he could be a difference maker at WR. Where did he transfer to? You're right about the skill players at WR and DB. Brock might be the best overall WR Maryville has ever had IMO. And since AJ Davis, Maryville hasn't had that big time game breaker. Hopefully that changes soon, because it's definitely missed.
  9. What has this guy done to you that is so bad? I have spoken to him at one of the games this past year and he was very nice. I am not sure on his ability to coach.
  10. I see them and Oakdale struggling quite a bit the next few years. I see OS to be the powerhouse of the area for awhile. It all depends on how much Coalfield can recruit.
  11. I’ve said it all year coalfield isn’t the same team as the last couple years. They have 3 really good players and another pitcher that throws low to mid 80s. Other than that, everybody else is average at best. You could make the argument that their lineup was the worst out of the 4 teams in their region tournament. Oakdale is really hot right now and playing well. Greenback was the second best team there. Wartburg was hitting it well but limped into the tournament with their center fielder being hurt and their best pitcher not being able to go on the mound for them was killer.
  12. Upperman White County both will be loaded. Dyersbirg and South Side will be a handful as well. Getting about that time in about 3 weeks we start watching summer scrimmages. Dyersburg loaded loaded loaded with talent. Most talent ever I have seen in their program.
  13. If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!

  15. Go Indians. Whoever wins the rubber match between Wellington and True will most likely advance to state. Last year it was tied 1 to 1 going into the 7th until Wellington went over 120 pitches and South Pitt was forced to forfeit the game.
  16. Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship. Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp. Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
  17. I heard Alabama was at Antioch practice and Colorado has offered QB. Hoping the Bears have a great year.
  18. Cloudland beat North greene today 6-1 to win their first district tournament in school history. I want to give a shout out to these girls who've played together since they were 5. Freshman Reagan Turbyfill has a 1.56 era and is already one of the best pitchers to play here. My little hindcatcher made all tournament and her twin in RF should have as well. I wouldn't sleep on these girls. They host Hancock County monday

  20. I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
  21. Dyersburg scrimmaged South Gibson last week
  22. I think you are right. Changed to Friday, Aug 30. Thanks
  23. I heard a rumor about Mr. Thomas the other day that he plans on changing his school once again. Does anyone know if this is true? I hope no other school would be willing to take him up on this.
  24. I heard a rumor about Mr. Thomas the other day that he plans on changing his school once again. Does anyone know if this is true? I hope no other school would be willing to take him up on this.
  25. Going on over a month now and still nothing, rumor mill or not I think a decision needs to be made. Maybe they don’t have anyone wanting it and maybe rumor mill don’t need it they are taking this long to come to an agreement.
