I’m hoping the Pirates have a great game this week. I think they will be ready to go. If they learn to limit penalties and clean up some stuff they could have won that game last week against a solid team. By the way who is Kavin Pryor? I’m pretty good remembering the good players through the years. Been posting here on and off for over 20 years. I’ve never heard of that name. Wasn’t 2013 the Lankford and Mitchell combo? Those two were ball players I loved to watch play.

Yeah they didn't do a census this year. They do them every 10 years thats the only reliable source. I guarantee what your seeing includes the zip code Area meaning the surrounding areas in county. I'm sure it is but as everyone knows Crockett is minus every "great" offensive athlete they've had the last three or four years. This year will be helpful to Crockett in the long run as nobody can lean on Prince Kollie, Cade Larkins, and a handful of others. To some degree having athletes of that caliber, while fun to watch, does the coaches and team a disservice, particularly so for a new head coach. You can be bailed out of bad situations by one or two guys against so so teams. Now everyone will have to participate and dumb mistakes are much more noticeable which leads to corrections since they are so noticeable. Greeneville's wrestling team is in the same situation after this year. They've lost Kodiak and this year they lose Hunter Mason and Colin Dupill. That is three nationally ranked wrestlers (all transfers into the program, Hunter and Kodiak in 7/8th grade, Dupill his Junior Year). Everyone on Greeneville's team will have to pick up the slack or else things are going to look mighty different.

It's going to be a battle for that dubious honor when they play West Ridge me thinks....

0-0 both times. Smith has given up 24 points in 4 games and 1 of those was when they had players out due to injury. So their defense is a little better than average I’d say.

With three schools to choose from, our enrollment numbers are around 340-350 I think. Doesn't matter the population of Fayetteville itself.

Have times changed so much the kids dictate what the coaches do on offense and defense? When I played whatever the coaches said we did. Didn't go home and talk about it to our families. If we did our parents backed the coaches. Shows how soft the world is and parents are? You really think coaches do stuff to put the kids in a bad situation? Who cares the Brayden Cousino hated the offense. It was his job to run the offense to the best of his ability and he didn't. He was better as a sophomore than any other year.

Since you are the Bear Bryant of CoachT what would you do with this Watertown team? What would you change on Offense and Defense? I have only seen WHS play once this year in their opener, but I could see from the start they did not have the players that they have had. Is that the coaches fault? Also, your football IQ really shows every time you mention the offense because I am pretty sure WHS is running the same offense from last year. Which I am assuming you had no problem with last year considering they won the region and made it to the quarterfinal game again. That is NOT TRUE at all about Coach Wright. Coach Wright left because of administrative responsibilities at York Institute. The coach who took over had 3-8 and 3-8 seasons and was relieved of his duties and Coach Wright was asked to come back. They had PLENTY of talent last season and should have had a much better record. Don't post things you know nothing about.

I noticed the same, rhea is a great team I think has something to do with Bradley's defense being able to contain the running back and the qb sneaks that lost mcminn that game

This group of 1A schools is maybe the best group listed/ranked in awhile.. lots of great teams, will be very interesting to see who gets to the championship from the West brackets . I can’t help but think that, with the gauntlet that that team from the West will have gone through, they will be heavy favorites to win the gold.. but the favorite & best team doesn’t always win, do they? Line ‘em up, play it out! Of course I’m mighty high on these Dresden Lions this year. Time will tell how it all falls out.

Explain that to your brainless coach. You can see his interviews, never blames himself, he obviously never sees the need to switch the offense up! This offense would work if the players were just that good, they’re not. He has to devise a better scheme that utilizes his assets… merriweather needs the ball in Space!!! I’m sure the QB can throw a football and shoot maybe even a few of those players can catch! Sarcasm aside, Gallatin needs to change their scheme or it’ll be a change at the helm.

I'll take Crockett over Obion by as many as they want to put up. Crockett is a much improved team this year and has really played well against stronger opponents then OC. I think Crockett takes a HUGE step towards a playoff berth. #hotty toddy

Nut's answer is pretty much on the money. Powell just doesn't have the personnel in the front 7 to be a dominate defense. But when their offensive skill guys are healthy, they don't have to be, and, in my observations (and that's all it is, since I don't have any direct ties with the program any longer) they are perfectly content winning 42-28 type games. Defensively they are good enough to slow the opposition down enough to get a couple more stops per game than the other team and have more scoring opportunities. And as long as they can keep pressure off of Soles and Foust and let them make some plays defensively it's a win for their defense. And again, Nut's pretty much on it. #22 is the only one still not back, as far as I know, although Potts is obviously still not 100%. but it's my understanding that he's not too awfully far from getting there.

I said last week it's time for our offense to open up and I still feel that way. However I know our coaches spend much more time with the players in and out of practice and they have a reason for what they are doing... I know for a fact Coach Chad Perry isn't going out on Fridays trying to lose, and I also know he don't need my input lol. We will be fine, and I believe he will make the adjustments needed! Our line play showed a huge improvement last week on both sides of the ball, now if we can get our backs to stop dancing and turn the ball up I think we will be fine! I look for us to score 21-28 points this week and shut out a down TC team. And for the first time in ever beat H2O and TC in the same season!

Unions are the main reason that don’t happen. A documentary from several years ago called “Waiting For Superman” was filmed about the schools in Washington DC. They offered teachers the opportunity to make well over six figures in performance pay but they had to give up tenure. The teachers Union shot it down. Take my tenure. I know what I can do in a classroom. I’ll take the performance pay all day every day.

Big reason why there's a shortage: $115 per Friday night game ... 3:30-5:30 .. Drive to game (you pay the gas) 5:30-7:00 .. Get dressed, pregame, talk to coaches, go thru all checklists for the game, check equipment 7:00-8:00 .. Kickoff and first half (get screamed at and cursed at, run about a mile) 8:00-8:20 .. Halftime (rest, eat a bag of chips and a bottle of water if the school is nice enough to provide it) 8:20-9:30 .. 2nd half (get cursed at and screamed at even worse, especially if the game is tight going down the stretch, run another mile) 9:30 -10:00 .. Leave the field with police as security, shower, change clothes, leave the school 10:00-10:15 .. Drive to the closest fast food joint because you're starving 10:15-10:45 .. wait in line and eventually scarf down a dry burger with fries 10:45-12:45 .. Drive home (you once again pay the gas) Hopefully be in bed by 1:30 am .. 3:30 - 12:30 is 9 hours ... $115 for 9 hours equals $12.77 per hour Oh yeah, take off $20 in gas .. $95 for 9 hours equals $10.50 per hour .. (You've also spent $400 on equipment, officials pants, shirts, shoes, flags etc) Any idea what a high school profits on a Friday night game ??? These officials are the guys you gotta have to make that money ... They do it because they love it .. not for the money ... While you are watching your kids play, they are away from their families .. Pay em .. they earn it .. and from what they have to go thru, they deserve it !!!!
