  1. Calling a kid a "thug" based on some chit chat on an internet website is low class. I don't know the kid and you don't either. Bash coaches, bash programs, that's fine. In a society where kids are robbing and killing people I don't think a kid that needs an attitude adjustment deserves to be labeled a thug. You need to examine your own character.

  2. Call it what you want, you can call it biased for all I care, but I believe the way Greeneville is playing right now they could beat any team in the state! Don't get me wrong I know Alcoa, Mvill, and a couple of other teams in the state would not be push overs. This Greeneville team is not finished yet and I believe some records/history will be made this year by this team! That's the way I see it and i will continue to do so until proven otherwise!

  3. Great post! I assure you I meant no disrespect at all. Everyone in Fairview has seen and still sees Waverly's heart and passion. Believe that. Every second of every game we've played against each other for the last 5 years has been intense and meaningful. A back and forth war with momentum constantly swinging both directions. It was a pleasure to see it happen again last night. My comment was based on how Coach lined up under center and try to pound the rock for 2 drives after the opening TD drive of the 2nd half. Waverly was having none of it and forced him to open the offense back up. I for one was definitely not comfortable with a 22 point lead. Especially with a quarter and a half to play. It was obvious that Waverly was going to score more times than not when they got the ball and I felt like we also had to do that to win the game. Lucky for us we were able to slip in a few big plays to extend drives and get a couple scores in the 2nd half. If not we wouldn't have held on to the lead. Thirdly, I dont think Waverly's defense is nearly as bad as it's getting credit for. They tackled well. Alot better than we did. Our offense will give alot of good teams problems. It will take a pretty exceptional defense to shut it down. Aside from Davidson Academy I dont think you'll see another O as good as ours until you face Columbia Academy in the quarter finals. Plenty of time to get the D shored up before then. I will say that I'm anxious to see how the game with Riverside goes. I hear their defense is legit. Best wishes to the Waverly Tigers for a successful, championship season from us in Fairview. I'll be pulling for you from here on out. You can do it!

  6. Old Pirate says, The QB needs to handle the snap if he gets his hands on it too! The 2018 Pirate edition has a HEEP of work to do ifin to get to Cooksville. Kick off and punting is terrible. Punter drops the football pointed down, the kicker steps are off resulting in plant foot coming up short of kick. Kick off coverage has often times been horrible. Anyone remember the GB loss? Kick off & punt returns need to be properly handled. Old Pirate doesn’t wear Rose Colored Glasses, Pirates have to improve fast to get close to fulfilling their goal!

  7. Well when you get suspended for what he did and within 2 weeks you do what he did, the kid needs a rude awakening, he's a good kid when he wants to be, but unfortunately he is headed down the wrong road, hopefully Coach Waggoner doing this will help Kobe back onto the right path.

  8. Clint Satterfield is not 4-0 with this team unless 8 is at qb. Lebanon had a better team with more depth. Watertown had just as good of team especially without our 8. He himself will tell you this. Now the Watertown game was one TC should have won but fumbled away and just couldn’t close it out. 2 is a good player like I have said before but his attitude and behavior will lose you games. It’s good to see a coach that will not take the road of non character to just win a few more games. I am glad he had the guts to do it. Not sure if I would have! You will see a more complete team when 8 is back because you will have an offense that can throw, a qb that can run and playmakers all over the field that he can get ball to. Heck your one play away from beating Lebanon and if not for a holding penalty you do. I think I said last week, your 5 points away from being undefeated without your best player. Offensively, your playing with a fullback at qb. He can’t run the ball or pass ball. He’s a fullback and will be back at that spot in 3 weeks. Offensively TC is having to just run the ball every which way they can with teams knowing they are just running ball. TC is without one of their best DL/OL right now. He will be back in 3 weeks. Got 4 sophomores who start. 5 is good but not the same as last year after having knee surgery. You have to have a lot of things go your way to win golden ball. How long has TC been playing football? We only have won 10. There have been lots of other good teams that didn’t win. That’s why I wear my championship ring proud!!!

  10. He has done a really good job so far. Runs the offense extremely well. An added weapon is when he runs the ball. Runs the option great when those plays are called.

  13. Apologist??? You want to label me, and insinuate that being "open zone" is somehow beneath being pure and fair in competition...we can go there. All public school systems in Tn. are open zone UNTIL the Board of Directors vote to be otherwise, and are able to set restrictions ( tuition, enrollment, zones, ect… ) as they see fit, so I'll assume that wherever you're from is closed zone and your system forces you to send your children where they decide. How do you justify telling a county taxpayer which school a child must attend? All schools are not equal athletically or academically...lets say that graduation rates, ACT scores, GPA, and college enrollment numbers are significantly higher at one school than another in your county...you OK with your children's future being affected negatively by the zone you live in, although your tax dollars fund the "better" school as well as the one your Board forces your child to attend? Got a faint whiff of socialism about it to me, and I will never change my position on the matter, nor APOLOGISE for it.

  14. This thread is dumb. There's no reason Alcoa should be forced to play in 6A with 3A enrollment. If you want to make the argument Alcoa should explore options of moving up fine. I might agree. It would probably even be beneficial to Alcoa. If they added 200 kids in that school I don't see anyone in the state beating them regularly, including Maryville. If they got to a 6A enrollment they'd be a top 25 team in the country year in and year out. But the premise of this topic was forcing them to play 6A with their current enrollment. Which is bonkers.

  15. I said after the game last year, and I said while in Neyland yesterday - they didn't give Saylors enough touches against us. He's going to be a good one for ETSU.

  17. Alcoa will be fine....If travel is required, we will travel. Always bring a good crowd wherever we end up. We are kinda used to the ole dodgers. Always enjoy rubbing their noses in it. Then, everyone wants to complain about our schedule. When you get to the point of playing who will agree to play, that point seems kinda mute...

  19. I remember your nephew playing for them as well. He was a one man show. SP beat Marion like 49-14 or something to that effect. He kept it from being worse. I agree they finished nicely though.

  20. Again. Same problem...if you don't like the rule, that's your prerogative ( I see the point), but don't single out Alcoa because they're successful. Many teams across the state in all classifications with the same advantage DON'T stand head and shoulders above their competition. Take the rule up with TSSAA if you think it's unfair, but trashing Alcoa isn't fair to them just because they win.

  21. Swarm, I really respect your insights and I've enjoyed reading your comments this week, but I disagree with you on this point. I truly don't believe your coach went conservative which allowed Waverly to come back. What you witnessed is the resilience of our boys! There is no quit in them no matter how bad it looks. They put their whole heart into this game and this team, which is why we think so highly of them and believe they can beat anyone. We know they also believe this and they play like they do. Of course it hasn't worked out the last couple of weeks, lol, but everyone knows now, that when you play Waverly you play until the last second is off the clock because we most definitely will! heck of a game! Congrats on the W!

  22. Here is another notable statistic. You are a straight up coward. Punk move to run like a little sissy after the playoff loss. You have lost all cred on these boards with everyone.

  24. The WH faithful can give more details, but one of their playmakers this year is Casanova. He's the young man that broke his leg last year on a kick off return against us.

  26. Congratulations to Coach Mitchell of BGA. After 20 years, 200+ wins, and 2 State Championships, he decided to retire from coaching. Rob Mitchell is a class act in everything he does.
