  1. Dancing and showing emotion doesn't have anything to do with sportsmanship or how disciplined a team is. This sport is full of emotion so you cant judge someone by their actions if its not disrespecting anyone . That's no different from when the sideline and assistants jump up and down with the " OOOOhhhh oooooo " chant when they score or on kick off. Some will label what " certains do as trashy and hood" but label the "ooohhhh o-o-o-o chant as acceptable" you cant pick and choose. Metro gets a lot of backlash from outsiders that don't have a clue of what it takes to coach/ teacher there. I've seen both sides and you outsider guys have it way easier. Yall have half the issue, half the headaches, half the problems and obstacles. And to deal with those on a Daily basis and prepare for a football game is no less than amazing. How man of you non metro guys have to worry about your kids eating EVERYDAY or if they are in a safe environment. Not as much as metro. So you are more than welcomed outsiders to join in the metro rankings of coaching and see how long you will last. Yall would run back to sumner, Wilson, Rutherford and Williamson in a hot flash. I have friends inside and out and they all rather take a pay cut to not deal with the metro/ MNPS headache. metro does have some good coaches that get the most out of them but also have kids with different backgrounds as well. What happened at Overton/ Antioch isn't brand new but they just got a raw deal . That doesn't mean their coach doesn't instill discipline . Hillsboro situation that could happen to anyone, seniors feel like they don't have anything to lose after their last snap, so don't go talking down on these coaches when you really don't know. CR, PC, HB, MV OV, MC , HW,SHS, WC, HL, GC, EN and everyone else deals with way more than you outsider guys. It happened several times this year that wasn't metro but yall don't try to give them a black eye. Show these coaches some respect and not harp on what you don't know .

  2. You have consistently taken shots at every Alcoa poster on here and challenged their intelligence. You talk as if you are somehow intellectually superior. You attack and accuse some of us of working at McDonalds. Yet you have no clue who you are talking to. Lastly, it appears you do not understand this board is where good natured, yet pointed, banter occurs. Good move getting off here; you are no match for these goons. Your superior intelligence has been pummeled like a baby seal.

  3. I’d really just like to see two teams lineup and go at each other like last week. I’m pretty sure I could deal with the outcome.

  5. Just a mom of a Bee close to the program. I don’t post much but wanted to say for the most part I enjoy the comments & I can’t wait for Friday. My son is having the time of his life playing a sport he loves with his friends. The whole community is supporting them & it’s been so much fun. Our facilities are fine but stands are small. I know we are the underdog but you never know which is why the game has to be played. Mad respect for Alcoa & I think Upperman will earn some respect as well. Driving me crazy trying to figure out who Madhatter is though?

  7. What in the world is going on? A kid transfers from Knox Halls to Alcoa in the middle of the season. A kid from Brentwood transfers to Indy in the middle of the season. A kid plays football for Centennial, but is going to be playing for Franklin in Basketball. I am sure there are other examples across the state. WTH! What are we teaching our kids? Daddy, I am not getting enough touches at school A, will you buy a condo across town so I can get more touches at school B? I have already talked to the coaches on the other team. They are ok with me coming in in mid season and taking another kid's spot who has busted his butt to play. My coach is mean and I want to leave. He actually expects me to be a team player and play by his rules. Please Daddy? Sure son. I will take care of it tomorrow. If I am missing something, someone please enlighten me. TSSAA may have to change their eligibility rules. It doesn't seem right that a parent can just up and buy a condo or house and move a kid because they don't like the circumstances of school A. Most of the parents across the state cannot afford it, but a select few can and take advantage of it? Come on Man!

  8. I’m very biased and you may be as well, but I think we have a top 15 field in the state reguardless. It will be better than most have took a snap on.

  9. meigs #’s gives them the clear advantage. a close game going into the 4th will be a 50/50 toss up. if either team gets up by 14 before the half that could be all she wrote.i say that because i think both defense’s are more than capable of holding a 14 pt through the last 2 qtrs. if meigs wins it will be because they platoon us to death. if/when trousdale wins it will be because of tradition/grit/tenacity/great execution/heart of a champion that being said, i think it goes 1 of 2 ways the hard way: tc-21/meigs-13 in a slug fest or the even harder way: tc-28/meigs-6, with meigs scoring in the 4th.

  10. You're doing 2 things here. Giving Covington way too much credit and not giving Fairview nearly enough. That's called wearing Homer goggles and makes it difficult to take you serious . If 6a (still playing) Ravenwood couldn't beat us 56-0 theres no way Covington does. Regardless, we don't play in the Imaginary Football League and this threads not about Fairview. We're done. I'm very anxious to see how this game plays out. If Covington is as good as you say and even close to good as Ravenwood you wont have any trouble with Stratford. Heck you may even give the F5 all they want.

  11. I have one question for the Bee fans here: what makes you better this time? For example, last time your O and D lines were pummeled like baby seals. Are they improved this time?

  14. I'm still in disbelief that any of Cookeville's 2000 students could go play football for FREE at Open zoned Upperman HS!?!? Surely there are a bunch of posts complaining about this, using this as a rationale for UHS's success? I did a search and couldn't find anyone complaining about this. Really strange...

  22. You do realize that in the eyes of the TSSAA there are way more open zoned schools than what they classified as a closed zone? Any school system that has any kind of transfer rule in place is classified as open zoned (Rather that be for disciplinary reasons, childs safety, etc.). Every team can technically do it as long as their School Board has that rule in place. For the 3 teams people have mentioned (Alcoa, Maryville, and Greeneville) I could name a ton of other schools that are open zoned and don't field competitive teams

  29. Just got to remember this is an anonymous thread and a lot of post aren’t serious, or maybe are not well-informed. But anyone that truly keeps up with Peabody football knows this isn’t going to be an easy victory and is up for grabs. Waverly will be a major challenge

  31. I don't think the Maplewood-Greeneville game will be close. The weather may play a factor and help keep it close due to field conditions. I think there will be a running clock in the 2nd half.

  33. Great post mamma bee, we do respect upperman & do look forward to the game! Most of us, not all has had kids play for the tornadoes, they are gone on to start their lives, but we still support these boys & our program with great pride. The rest have kids presently playing, & are great people. When we roll into town you will see our passion for our kids as we will yours! Look forward to a great game & hope for injury free on both sides.

  35. That middle school team that went undefeated didnt play Alcoa middle school team. The success of the middle school team really centers around combining two big middle schools into one team that beats schools that are much smaller than the combined two schools. Then when they get to HS and have to play schools their own size, that develop their players things shake out and the results speak for themselves And they still wont play Alcoa middle.

  37. I watch more game tape on Meigs. #4 has speed and can cut on a dime. To me, the best player on Meigs that I saw was Smith #6 but I didn't see him playing in all the games he runs hard may not have that much speed but he runs with power. When it comes to defense I saw a lot of turnovers some on bad snaps and some on Meigs defense tackling the ball instead of the player. That QB power Meigs seem to love that play but if they run that play as much as they were running the play the QB will be hit in the mouth a lot. I also couldn't help to notice how bad Hixson and the other teams are it was like you'll be the only team that had athletes it was like you'll were playing Jackso Co every week and the so-called decent teams where a step below Westmoreland

  39. Not the same at all. Nearly all school systems will allow out of county students for a fee, including Metro Nashville. The policy you quoted says students can apply to attend Robertson County schools not Springfield specifically, there are 5 high schools in the county. Students who live in Robertson county have to go where they are zoned, so not open zoned. Blount County school policy, for example, says students can attend the school of their choosing provided administrators sign off, and they provide their own transportation. Robertson, Sumner, Davidson and most other school systems in the area do not allow this. As was stated earlier it takes an act of God for anyone to be granted an out of zone request inside the county. I am happy with the state of Springfield football. Even if they only had 20 kids come out for football, you can bet they would be well coached and play hard. But what the the open zoned schools have is definitely an advantage.

  44. Tc wins this one 28-7! Watertown fan here i talked smack last week and had to eat crow. Tc D is stout they completely shut down a very good off in Watertown. I just believe Watertown d is better then the ones that are left. Imo the best 2 teams in 2a play last week

  45. Yah now we are getting real funny. Please re-post this after that running clock at halftime. I am sure you will have time. Considering you will not even want to watch the 2nd half.

  46. Peabody will have to fire on all cylinders for 48 minutes as well. At this point in the season, there are no cake walks by any means. Waverly has a very high powered offense when they want to open it up. Peabody has a potent offense when they spread teams out & distribute the ball. Both teams can put up a lot of points which we have seen most of the season. Defensively, I think Peabody outmatches Waverly’s defense. Waverly has a lot of good skill guys but I don’t know if they have the big hog bodies to play with Peabody all 4 quarters. Like Vandy said earlier, sometimes size doesn’t account for much, but when that size comes with speed, it’s a little different story. I think this game is decided by no more than 1 score.
