man people are still talking about the west game? lol, its weird how non of this stuff comes up when Watertown plays any other team.

My son is on the team, and starts. I told him play between the whistle, once it blows stop. I played football in the trenches all my life. What happens in a pile happens. Always has and always will. I don't encourage any type of punch, eye poking. But I can assure you things on on under there. Just the way it is. I was reading what HOF Kevin Mawae had to say about playing line. He was telling a story about in high school one of his team mates came up from a pile with a shoe string wrapped around his neck. I got a chuckle out of that. Watertown players dirty? No. Hard nosed yep and I am proud of it. If ya can't handle it, stay on the sideline. Just so ya know, #69 keep running his hand up inside one our players face mask during the game. Never got called, guess because my they didn't cry about it.

Not me I would never do it because it’s just football and in the grand scheme all that matters is what these kids learn through football and take to there adult lives and I wish them the best.Devilman you should be proud of the Devils .

One thing that I know for sure with the 4 teams in 6AAA and the three best teams in 5AAA the Region 3AAA tournament should have some awesome games. Whoever wins your district will have a cakewalk, but the other three games will be coin tosses.

Well I respect what McConnell did for our program and how he showed the kids how hard work, preparation, and commitment to each other to give it their all each week pays good dividends more times than not. Not only on the field but in life. My boys benefited from him tremendously! But this week he IS the enemy! Hoping we have the dogs and the game plan to make this an uncomfortable visit for him

Well since I started the topic I will offer my thoughts. I like McConnell. I have never met a coach, I know a ton of them, that puts in more time and prep work in to the game. I named this thread specifically about him because this date has been circled on the calendar since the day he resigned. He did help get Waverly back on the map. We had a lot of wasted talent walk through the doors that underachieved. McConnell harnessed the talent and everyone is back with a winning mindset. When I played, we were just going through the motions. McConnell brought energy back to the program. He will be championed for that for a long time. I will use this analogy. When you get dumped by a girl, the next time you see that girl, you want to have a new girl hotter than the one that dumped you. That is the situation we were in. I think most people here want him to look at his old team and wonder what it could have been. Now if he walks out with the dub then that would be an afterthought. But if he is eating a nice fat L, well we have a dime in our arm. I am pretty happy with where we are. I think Boldin has vision and we know he is going to be here. I don't know if we have a dime but the one we have shines just as bright as the one we had.

We got no business playing Oakland. Lol. That was our best job on offense in a long time. The triple option puts alot of pressure on a defense. The defense didn't have their best night but they made some adjustments and made just enough plays to get the job done. It was a gutsy effort by the whole team. We are going to have to tighten up that kickoff coverage or it will bite us. ORWildcat1. thanks for the fan view. You did a great job shooting that.

Wouldn’t say they are a powerhouse, at least not this year. But, their announcers on their stream were saying that they hadn’t seen a team move the ball on their defense like that in a long time. They actually seemed pretty shocked to be honest.

Probably not a popular option-and who knows if it would be considered seriously-but TSSAA should look at dropping such schools a class at a time. Heritage would go to 5A immediately then after 2 years to 4A if need be and so on. Glencliff, Cumberland others the same. White County was allowed to play non region but Warren was turned down on this type request.

It's an odd year so Quads 1&3 host this year

I know that the Hampton girls is the backbone of the team, but the Cameron girl Is a really good player, I watched her this summer and she looked really good. And the Welch girl is going to be a handful, I watched her this fall, she’s deadly from three.

Upperman by 2 tds. They don't make mistakes on D. They don't act silly winning or losing there a class Act. Sportsmanship is taught well there.

Week 9 Update What a weekend of games! There was lots of movement and changes in the 5A playoff picture. Teams still undefeated Beech, Gallatin, Knox Central, and Powell Games to watch David Crockett vs Danial Boone Cherokee vs TN High Carter vs Gibbs Knox Central vs South Doyle West vs Fulton Oak Ridge vs Powell Gallatin vs Beech Hillsboro vs Hillwood *=non region game Region 1 vs Region 2 Region 1 TN High pulled off a big win over David Crockett to take control of the region and the 1 playoff seed. All TN High has to do is win Friday and they are region champions out right. With the loss for Crockett it drops them to 2nd in a 3 way tie. Crockett goes to rival Daniel Boone Friday for the musket bowl. Winner of this game will pretty much lock up 2nd in the region especially with a TN High win Friday. Mo East still has a chance to get in but they have to win out, a loss and they are out of the playoffs. Region 2 Knox Central and South Doyle meet up this week to decide who is the champ in region 2. Knox Halls has Sevier Co in a region showdown. Halls has to just keep winning and they will finish 3rd. A loss especially next week vs Seymour could mean Halls missing the playoffs. Gibbs and Carter have a huge game with playoff implications. Winner of this game sets themselves up for a possible playoff birth. If Gibbs wins they are all but in the playoffs. Carter needs to win to move into position to make the playoffs. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) TN High vs Gibbs South Doyle vs Cherokee Crockett vs Halls Knox Central vs Daniel Boone Region 3 vs 4 Region 3 What a game between Powell and Knox West. It would not surprise me if they meet up down the roads. Powell has secured at least a share of the region title and a win vs Oak Ridge Thursday will secure the out right title and the 1 seed. Oak Ridge is coming off of a big non region win at Mt Juliet. Oak Ridge could really make this region interesting if they were to pull the upset against Powell. Fulton has comeback from the dead after starting 0-6 they now are in position to challenge for a playoff birth and it’s not out of the cards but still could finish 2nd in the region with wins against West and Oak Ridge. Campbell Co has to win this week to win this week to keep their playoff hopes alive. Karns is out of the playoffs. Region 4 Soddy edges out Rhea Co for the top spot in the region however Soddy has some work to do before they are crowned outright region champs. They have a big non region game against Bradley this week before going for the out right region title against Walker Valley. If Walker Valley were to win that game it would create a 3 way tie for the region championship. Which if Rhea County wins their next two against Karns and Marion and WV beats Soddy Rhea gets the 1 seed and WV gets 2nd seed and Soddy goes on the road. If Soddy wins then Soddy gets the 1 seed, Rhea 2, and Walker Valley 3rd. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Powell vs Lenoir City Rhea vs Oak Ridge West vs Walker Valley Soddy vs Fulton Region 5 vs 6 Region 5 Page got the convincing win over Columbia this past Friday and now turn there focus to Lincoln County. With a win Friday page will lock up the 1 seed. Shelbyville picked up a huge win against Summit this past Friday putting them in great position to take the 2nd seed. Shelbyville just has to keep winning and they are hosting a home playoff game. Summit has a bye week this week before playing Lincoln Co. Columbia has a non region game with Stratford this week before potential a big game with Shelbyville. Lincoln is still in the playoffs hunt but they have to win against Page and Summit the next two weeks. Region 6 Gallatin and Beech finally meet this Friday night in arguably the biggest game in the state. Winner will pretty much wrap up the region title. Hunters Lane has a non region game with Whites Creek this week before facing Hillsboro in what could be a game for playoff seeding and maybe a playoff birth. Hillwood has a big opportunity this Friday to make the playoffs with a win over Hillsboro. Hillsboro has to just win the next two and they are 3rd. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Page vs Hillwood Beech vs Summit Shelbyville vs Hunters Lane Gallatin vs Columbia Region 7 vs 8 Region 7 Henry Co is in the driver seat for this region a win this week would secure the 1 seed and at least a share of the region championship. Dyer Co should have no trouble with West Creek this week and pretty much secure the 2nd seed. Clarksville has Northwest this week and will be on step closer to a 3rd seed. Kenwood has a non region game with Jackson Northside. Region 8 What an interesting region. We have a tie for the region championship between Southwind and Munford. Southwind had little trouble with Brighton last Friday and Munford edged out Kirby. Southwind owns the tie breaker with the head to head win over Munford. Southwind can wrap up the 1 seed with a win Friday against Kingsbury. Ridgeway is sitting with one region loss as well but only have 3 region wins. Ridgeway can make this a very interesting situation if the can win out forcing a 3 way tie for the region. Kirby could spoil that if they beat Ridgeway in week 11. Brighton is out of the playoffs. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Henry vs Kirby Munford vs Clarksville Dyer vs Ridgeway Southwind vs Kenwood

I’ve read about their classiness from several posters (see Baxter Vs Grundy thread) which is awesome! I also know they are a great team who definitely has a good fan base with a loud environment.Which is why I think a game like this win or lose can only help H2O come playoff time. I think our team defensively will stand up pretty good, but am worried about our offense. IMO we haven’t had a good showing on that side of the ball all year. We have just had more athletes than who we have been facing ( minus TC and Nolensville) I don’t think that will be the case this week, so we will need to put together a sound technical ball game on that side of the ball to win. If it happens we will win... if not, we will lose in a close one due to our defense being that stout! Either way it will tell us a lot about our team come Friday.

Teams have a trajectory it seems. They either play their best ball at the beginning. middle, or end of the season. It could be psychological, injuries, whatever. - Loretto seems to be done since the close loss to Summertown - Summertown peaked against Lewis, and has declined grradually each week. - Lewis seems to have recovered from the Summertown loss, and migh be playing their best ball of the year outside an impressive season opening road win at Riverside. - Eagleville seems to be getting better every week..they take care of who they are supposed to. They played Lewis very tough and upset Summertown. - Community has 2 or 3 good players, but they have a lot of guys who would barely get in games on a lot fo 2A squads playing major minutes. - Forrest routnely has 3-4 games where they are hobbled. This could be due to their physical style, a lack of conditioning (I dont think this it but I also think it could be better), flukes, etc. They usually drop 1-2 games in this stretch. This time they haven't, which is why they control their own destiny. I think Eagleville beats Loretto, which puts them a solid 3. I think it's too naive to think Forrest can be 100% in the next 13 days. I just don't see it. I think at 100% they beat Lewis. As it stands, I am still picking Lewis in a 28-20 type game. That means the Final 4 would be Lewis, Forrest, Eagleville, and Summertown. I'm ok with that.

Upperman is a very good team. Don't know anything about Watertown this year but hear they're very good also. Upperman, in my opinion, is the best overall team we've played. I'm sure Watertown is more than capable but I think Upperman might edge this one. Their QB is "that kind" of player. One thing for sure, Upperman was one of the classiest teams both players and staff I've ever had the privilege to watch. We're off, I might make the trip to this one.

I agree 100% Coach Caine is a great coach and even better person. I’m only speaking from my experience, but he said good things about my boy’s and I appreciate that. Class act all the way on the Upperman bees
