  3. Yep. Looking forward to it. You guys will be the region favorites for 2021 IMO. Good luck to the Tigers this November. Seems you guys are peaking at the right time. Make your mark!

  4. Have your sissy black birds schedule them! the word on the street is the AD is going to load the out of region schedule with the states best teams......because he can! He is the one that scheduled three 6A teams and wanted Elizabethton and Greeneville which did not work out. Alcoa plays the best team in the state. If anybody is a coward its you big sissy chissy!

  5. It might be arranged. Frostie likes to play bigger schools in his non-region games. We usually play Camden Central and always play Lexington. Riverside-Lexington is sort of like the Adamsville-Hardin Co. game. Both schools pack each other's gates, and several of the boys know each other.

  6. The Govs wrapped up another 4-6 season with a 35-6 win over Lenoir City tonight. It was an ugly win. Our offense was dreadful and we scored 35 points. What does that say about Lenoir City? They really struggled... That is the nicest way to say it. I think that shows that we are way better than we were when we played Heritage because Heritage beat Lenoir City by a point and we were really fortunate to beat Heritage the night we played them. I feel pretty good about where the football program is. We just closed out back-to-back 4-win seasons, our best two-year stretch in over a decade. The best part is we had a young team this year. Now here are some negative things that need to be corrected if we want to improve next year: #1- Our o-line has to get better, period. We couldn't get a push and Clemmer had defensive players in his face a lot this year. If we can get o-line play like we had in 2019 again we could have a really good offense because we have good receivers who can make plays. #2- This goes along with #1. We need to get better at running the ball. Rushing for 30-something yards in a game isn't a winning recipe in 6A football, especially on nights like tonight where wet balls make it hard to be effective in the pass game. #3- We don't know whether we will be going north or south in the new region, but we know we will have to make a few long road trips either way. We have to find a way to play well on those long road trips because we have laid some major eggs on the road. We played our worst games of the season at Elizabethton and Cleveland. At some point we are going to have win on the road to get into the playoffs or advance in the playoffs. Playing on the road and riding a bus for two hours is a big disadvantage, but teams still find a way to win those games anyway. Now let's go play basketball! I think the boys' team can be pretty good this year. Football seniors, I appreciate your efforts and have enjoyed watching you guys play and improve over the last several years. And congratulations to Trey Clemmer for becoming the Govs' leading passer in school history with over 6,000 yards. We certainly hate to lose Clemmer, but fortunately his younger brother Matthew looks good too. I think we are in good hands at the quarterback position. Go Govs!

  8. Best I can remember from the HC/SS game SS was not real big on D but did have speed. Tried to bring pressure with there linebackers every play and played there secondary to not get beat over the top. Had a couple of playmakers on offense that they used a lot

  11. Say what you want @ddaddy. The fact is 95% of our JR’s were quarantined. Our school shut down. No practice for 3 weeks. I don’t hear Lewis going through that. Our JR’s make up the majority of our starters. We played Scotts Hill with Sophomores and Freshmen and with what few Seniors we have. Tell me another school that has had that type of tragedy happen to their season and not be majorly impacted. Just because you guys are 10-0 doesn’t mean anything. You play a weak schedule. You can’t make it pass the 2nd round. And if you do, which I hope you do, but doubt you get passed the 2nd round, we will show Lewis what’s up and move on to the semi finals.

  13. I had your quad messed up and that was due to the McMinn Central upset of Brainerd I don't think anyone saw coming yesterday. I also had Class 1A region 7 wrong as a result of Humboldt upsetting Dresden. That quad only involves one region so no big deal. Just shuffled the 3rd and 4th seed. Basically two small mistakes because I was trying to get the info out as quick as possible for you guys. I stayed up until midnight night updating my website I then got up this morning and drove to a radio remote in which the guys equipment didn't work and I had to call my wife to bring my equipment. Spent two hours (unpaid as usual) to cover these playoffs. I've spent all season covering your football teams (UNPAID). I'm doing the best I can CUT ME SOME SLACK DUDE!

  20. Tennessee needs to cut back to 4 public classes in football. That would improve things.

  21. No, I really wouldn't put it like that. Lexington wants any team in this region because it means playoff football. Thats about it. This team is senior heavy, most of which were starters on the 2018 team that went 2-8. Springfield will probably be the only playoff team from this region that they have a bitter taste about. They lost to them as freshmen and juniors. Before that, Lexington spent a couple of years playing teams from the West in the playoffs. I say Lexington by 14. I expect to see some new things and faces from Lexington on the field as they get some younger playmakers out there for this playoff run. They have some kids that can make plays especially behind that senior heavy O-Line.

  22. That is totally unbelievable. We NEVER get the benefits of any calls there. To put an ejected player back in is hard to believe

  23. I think Lexington wins this one from what I’ve heard. Blackburn and Shankle was all I saw really do much for WH.

  24. Rhea county game is surprising, but I still think Westy keeps them maintained. The problem is that Westy doesn’t have enough offense. I’m going Marion 14- Westy 0 Marion scoring their last TD late in the game!

  28. Fayetteville and Cornersville wasn’t a fight. You saw it. It wasn’t much more than a shoving match by 2 players after 1 hit the other one after the whistle. No punches were thrown or landed. The other 4 players that were suspended a game for Fayetteville took a few steps off the sideline but never entered an altercation. There is language in the TSSAA handbook on how to handle that. They reviewed the film and followed the handbook protocol. I spoke with a local AD tonight who saw the Shelbyville/Franklin Co video. He said there were multiple fights happening on the field with swinging helmets and fists. That was much different from Fayetteville/Cornersville. That’s why it was handled different.

  29. thank you, i will admit to multiple edits as I was trying not to get into name calling and generalizations did the best i could with the emotional contexts that were being thrown around no one is happy with a losing season...a season that isnt even competitive...but the ppl that are left here havent and wont jump ship...wont teach young men to quit on each other and wont allow them to lay blame elsewhere...face facts and improve that is how to lay a foundation to succeed in life

  32. That's what I think, I don't care where they sleep at, live, go to school, commute, whatever. If they're legit high school age and academically astute, don't care what team, county, town, city they play for. No problem with a kid going where he is best served. I'm for all teams and obtaining their optimal potential. Good football 101

  33. It was pretty even as I had a hunch it might be. MC has some good athletes but could use better team discipline. Lots of penalties kept putting them in holes. #2 kept them in the game with big kick returns, scoring on 1. He also juiced their running game. Otherwise the MC offense was mostly flat tonight. Nolensville had a good game plan that kept MC's defense off balance most of the night. Expect to see these teams to meet again in 2 weeks.

  34. Me too. I wasn't able to make this game and didn't have any updates. I'll have to say that I'm genuinely happy for Stewart County. I'd rather turn it over to them than anyone else. I know Dover is a happy place tonight.

  35. Wow.....I’ve sure missed a lot since I’ve been gone.....I’m just finding out about all this...but anyways....it’s high school football, people....each team can only put 11 boys on the field at a time....let’s play some playoff football, enjoy the atmospheres, and route for our West TN teams! I for one, will cheer for Milan if they happen to beat us in two weeks. I’ll cheer for SGC if they move forward as well!!

  36. I don't speak for everybody but when I say it's all coaching I'm not saying that as a knock against Christian. There's a lot more pieces to the puzzle than the head coach. When I say it's all coaching I'm talking about from the ground up. From the little leagues to middle school, to the freshman and then to varsity. In Kingsport we are very weak on coaching in the lower leagues. You'll never compete with the Maryville's and Alcoa's until they fix that. Heck we can't even beat a average Science Hill team.

  41. Puckett won't leave over this. Shelbyville has been good to him and his family. He was allowed to bring practically his whole staff in and another of his guys is now running the Middle School program. Don't expect him to go anywhere.

  42. Schools are doing what they can. Everyone is taking caution to be safe. I would hope anyone with common sense could understand that. As far as having mental anguish and depression due to sports come on now. I am sure kids and coaches will be upset when their seasons come to an end, that is normal. And I'm sure some kids that are on the fence of getting a scholarship might be affected. But hey here is an idea, if your kid is on the fence tell him to improve his grades, do some volunteer work, etc to improve himself. This situation has affected us all. If you don't like how things are going in schools then pull your kid and homeschool him. Put him at a private school. There are always options that are proactive instead of just being negative. Good luck to those having the privilege of playing tonight.

  45. Forrest played about 1/3 of a game of the best football you will ever see, then went into safe mode and lost to a very mediocre Portland team in sickening fashion. I'm not sure Eli can be trusted with the keys to drive himself home tonight.
