  1. Today
  2. Trinity Christian will host South Side on Thursday at 4:30. The scrimmage will be played at TCA.
  3. Yeah I noticed that too, don't know anything about that area though so maybe they'll get a bunch of good athletes where they are a charter school I assume
  4. Is Pickett getting any college looks?
  5. The Black Hole looks like the place to be Oct 25, 2024. Is Full Service bbq still there in Maryville? Looks like MamaStars may have eaten them plum out of business.
  6. Yeah they both should be good games whoever matches up with who. Wartburg has beaten Oliver Springs all 4 times they’ve played this year but they have been close games. I believe Wartburgs first sectional appearance was last year when they went to North Greene. Good luck to you all!
  7. What did they do this year? Every other year, I’ve gone to one. It’s been a little scrimmage and then a bunch of games like a quarterback throwing challenge, O line versus D line, push-up challenge, etc. But not surprised, nothing new that the program has been on the decline since they lost their recruiting middle school coach. The baseball coach still does his fair share, but he recruits good baseball players. Not good football players, and decent baseball players, definitely nothing like the middle school coach could do, he left for a middle school job down near Cleveland high school a few years back.
  8. Yesterday
  9. They aren't just beating teams. They are killing everyone they play.
  10. plus it removes the pressure around winning.
  11. He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
  12. I coached both Copeland and Jordan along with Tanner Wilson, Ryan Weaver, Mason Sharp, and Caleb Rittenhouse to name a few.
  13. Last week
  14. Sumner County is in, it will be an 8 team league (Merrol Hyde is the only high school not in) with each team playing the other 7 once, followed by an 8 team tournament to determine a champion. I'm hearing all games will be at Liberty Creek the first year, on Saturdays mid March through mid April.
  15. I think it’s a safe bet that District 13AAA will get two teams to the ‘boro once again. The disparity is very wide between Regions 7 and 8 in AAA girls basketball as it is and both Dburg and South Gibson are well above average.
  16. TRADITION STARTS HERE: THE PITT is a very special place. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=959312149533098&set=pcb.959315862866060&__cft__[0]=AZXSugjN9fTia1pDzNz4BB86uVKjryANOGY-kmVPNvBcV5Bswiz2UKzOJJypQRKAwy0jfoL5ml7sVym7yOSDaqVxFED30SKOM5_gPE0Eq6lgEFWtueLAsWV559r9Iq4opMSN_FY4wiSzfsgo7VseN9wriWxbX-YK2aqhwilrm_PxhPgFgIkapIeDc2IMQi0AyF0DpbNQdMD_pKxJwlqj4DXnz8uMjlrVdzL4moMndBrwNA&__tn__=*bH-y-R
  17. Wartburg is hosting Concord Christian and Cosby on May 17th if weather doesn't ruin it.
  18. I heard an assistant form one of the schools in Jackson applied for the job
  19. What has this guy done to you that is so bad? I have spoken to him at one of the games this past year and he was very nice. I am not sure on his ability to coach.
  20. If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!
  21. I heard Alabama was at Antioch practice and Colorado has offered QB. Hoping the Bears have a great year.
  22. Cloudland beat North greene today 6-1 to win their first district tournament in school history. I want to give a shout out to these girls who've played together since they were 5. Freshman Reagan Turbyfill has a 1.56 era and is already one of the best pitchers to play here. My little hindcatcher made all tournament and her twin in RF should have as well. I wouldn't sleep on these girls. They host Hancock County monday
  23. I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
