  1. I would like to see the days of old when both sides were full of Green Wave fans. Need a huge crowd to get behind these kids. They have really worked hard to make a name for themselves this year. Invite an old friend who hasn’t been in a few years to come out and see what all the buzz is about.

  2. I'd say those brutal 3 or 4 games to start his career will serve him well in the long run. I'm guessing a lot of mental toughness was discovered in him

  3. You do realize Dekalb was wearing white and Watertown was wearing purple Friday night correct? I can see if you was arguing the case for H2O but I can’t wrap my head around your point for Dekalb. What number was the kid they ran away from? Not taking anything from any kid on Dekalb but I didn’t see a player that I would consider better than 9 for H2O on Defense.

  4. Lots of woulda, coulda, shoulda in there. We probably had a few of those woulda, coulda, shoulda things to. End of the day both played well, neither were perfect, and I truly think both will improve because of that game. By far the best 4 quarters Greenback has put together as well SO FAR this year. I expect to see continued improvement and by November y'all will be a sight to see. Getting better every week, that's the goal for all of us. Personally I really don't think this one is close at the end. Maybe early on but greenback is gonna get guys loose. 23 is of course gonna get loose, still don't know why he's not getting 15 or 20 touches a game SMH, 1 is a really hard and elusive runner. Powerful enough to run over folks sometimes and speed to burn to. 5 is a nice target, 20 is to. 15 is a ball player and watch out for 53 and 4, they're gonna be there a while to. Just a lot of weapons and they're really starting to click. Now that they're behind us I'm looking forward to seeing them later this year!

  6. We can all agree that WH hasn’t been tested this season. I worry if we have to put the ball in the air, it might not go well. WH has to establish the line of scrimmage and get the early lead! The home crowd will be on their side. By looking across the region, this is a huge game for both teams, especially the Devils. Creekwood and Portland look good and Heritage has surprised me so starting 0-1 would be bad for WH. The schedule is certainly much tougher starting with the Jackets so each game is magnified. Hoping for a great game!

  7. He’s a really good player. Already seems to have an excellent grasp of the offense and did his job exceptionally well against Brentwood. He’s going to be a fun one to watch over these next few years.

  9. I’m not arguing, I just wanted to make sure it was clear that it wasn’t our head coach because I feel like Eddie Courtney is way too classy and respectful of a person to have anyone think that penalty was him. As far as flags, my husband is one of Farraguts coaches so he obviously watched film all weekend and says that most of those calls against us were legitimate penalties that were rightfully called. . . I think oak ridge played really well and absolutely deserved that win. I was impressed with Romano and Jackson and with how well their team came together to play. OR/Farragut is always a huge rivalry game and emotions tend to run high.

  14. Yes! Their are about 4 or 5 teams that can score a lot points on any giving night. Im very impressed with Heritage offense avging 40 pts a game. You better have a GREAT defense or a high scoring offense to play with those dudes. Wouldn’t surprise me if at the end of the season to see tie breakers. As for the Jackets....I think they are settling down and finding new playmakers and I expect them to be ready friday night

  15. The heat was almost unbearable. The P.A. announcer said the heat index was taken in the stands and recorded at 115°F. A nice lady handing out Red Rebels towels also gave me her Maryville fan. As Booger stated before, anyone who hasn't witnessed this rivalry should do so. It was well worth the drive and the overnight stay. I thought both student sections were absolute tops. Hopefully I'll get to visit the Skeeter next year for this matchup.

  16. It has nothing to do with the team it’s people like you that have them winning the semi after four games. You should be worried about game five instead of a game that’s 10 more weeks away. And I can promise you I had plenty of playing time and it wasn’t against cupcakes.

  17. Honestly they should have beaten Farragut by two scores. Coaching gave that game away

  18. I think Covington will win this one fairly easy. I was able to make the trip over and watch them play Brighton and they just dismantled them. I usually catch 2-3 Covington games a year, mostly in during the playoffs, and I must say that their defense is the best I have seen in the past several years of watching them. The offense may be a tad behind that in the past few years, but the defense is unbelievable. Between Covington's rushing attack taking time off of the clock, and their defense being as good as it is, it Martin better make sure to capitalize on all of their opportunities to put points on the scoreboard, because you may not get as many chances as you have been in the first few games. It also always amazing me to see Covington have so many guys play offense, defense, and special teams, but they never seem to get tired. Those guys can run for days it seems. Hope it is a good game. Would be good to have a team in the region who can give Covington a run.

  19. Big win for the Patriots over Brentwood the other night. How's the QB looking?

  20. I agree. I was out of town but listening and the TD with two seconds left in the half was huge!

  21. A classy head coach can still get a penalty called on him, but I've heard nothing but good things about your head coach, so I would've been surprised if the penalty had been on him. Thanks for clearing that up.

  22. Honestly it's our fault we dont have much gold. We have not played in class A very much of our play-off history. We played 2a a lot of years when we had 1a numbers. We didn't want to play a cupcake schedule. It cost us. Before the play-offs began we used to dominate the old " Volunteer Conference" which was pretty tough. Heck I played on 2 undefeated teams. The 1966 team is still the most dominating team I've ever seen. Closest game that year was a 27-0 win over Jackson North Side.

  23. If Howard continues to get coaching continuity and keep players from their immediate area, they could be the top public school team in Chattanooga. This year, not enough yet for Anderson.

  24. It wasn’t Eddie Courtney, it was an assistant coach who lost his composure after our LB was flagged for offsides when it appeared he came thru and knocked over an O lineman before the snap. Our coach was upset because he felt the lineman had moved early, prompting the hit. Obviously the referee felt otherwise and when he threw the flag and announced the penalty the assistant coach became upset and argued the call.

  25. Isn’t that what hudl is for ? They can pull off any game from there . This comment wasnt necessary.

  26. So is being classy. Your team lost their composure. And your head coach did as well. First time I’ve seen a HC get a 15 yarder. Amazing class FArragut.

  27. Hope TC gets to that point but right now we aren't that good. We have weakness a major one that can fix have to stop fumbling the ball 7 fumbles in the past two games is a major issue.

  29. Good post!! I like what #6 is doing as well. # 15 is starting to step up more and more. This OS team will come ready and give us everything that they have. So we had better come ready. Still a ways to go for this GB team but definitely headed in the right direction.

  30. I agree with this, except swap DC and Clarksville. I’ll be wrong, but that’s my guess anyway.
    1 point
  31. Yeah, without looking I am not sure their competition is all that great, could be wrong, but a somewhat tough game before playing Gallatin/Beech, would serve ya'll well.....
    1 point
  32. It will take some effort for OS to even compare to Meigs, and honestly that was the best i seen Oneida play for 4 quarters.Oneida D scheme was different from any other we have seen but in the second half we adjusted but they had our QB thinking!OS will come ready but if we play like we did Fri it will be a 3 to 4 TD win for the Cherokees. We were VERY uncharacteristic dropping 2 picks one was an easy TD for Willis. Then the ball just falling out of his hands (the white gloves next time please) on a break away offensive TD out of bounds.I will say when Oneidas O-line gets in run game mode thats a tough bunch BIG and physical and number 5 is a load in power. The little mistaes are typical with us it seems after a week were the starters didnt even see the field in the second half of the Sunbright game.It will be a very tough game but we will score on big plays. You dont have the atheltes to cover our skill guys and the run game it picking up steam.NOW if we get the attitude we had against Loudon and the first quarter of Meigs we could very well lose. This TEAM is improving every week just as most others are.Line play is getting better quickly.Playoff type game it will he tho!

  35. I don't believe ya'll lose until the semis, if you lose at all, I think Gallatin will knock Beech off and that will be a great game. Getting a head I know, but if y'all don't have a big meltdown in the playoffs it's very possible.....

  36. Yeah I am not sure really either, he sure likes to chirp alot on all our threads, so regardless who his team is we are in his head.....lol

  39. You name it... We played better for sure but that was because we were coached 10x better.... I'm not sure if it was a good thing or not to play them right before TC.... We will just have to see. TC is a better team then them by a long shot lol. I think to beat TC our whole team will HAVE to play its best game, no doubt Coach Perry will have them ready but he can't play for them so we will see!

  40. Thanks fella's... I know my God is working his plan. He has me in the valley so that I can learn to refocus on the mountaintop.I appreciate the prayer because we can use all we can get. God had the answer to my problems before I ever had any.

  41. It surely couldn't be Baxter just got beat. It had to be the officials. Surely it couldn't be that there was a turnover early by an interception in the endzone. And no way it couldn't be the be 2-3 missed long wide open passes down the middle that would have scored, The refs had to be blamed for those, No way LA made plays when they needed to. And I saw the coach give an unusual signal once. I thought he was telling the player to steal 2nd or something. Now I know it was a "play possum" signal. Fake an injury. Genius. You are probably right though. The refs weren't going to ALLOW Baxter to win, Looked like they were going to make them play within the rules,
    1 point
  42. Yeah, I'm sorry about that. We had a terrible signal down in Marshall County. Over half the show was cut out. I"m gonna have to start factoring that in when we pick a location. I used to play golf at Henry Horton and I knew Verizon signal was terrible in that area. I just forgot about it. Big win for your ball team last night. I should of listened to my Huntland friends when I picked that game last night.

  44. I thought the whole defensive front showed up tonight. #7 #50 #53 #52 #17 and the LB, #15 #2 #23-SS also played well. You don't shut down that type of offense without good play from the front 7 or 8.

  45. Mavs fans you guys can slap me for thinking you had no chance lol! Very coachable but I said what I said due to the fact you let me down in the Powell game... you guys had that won.. good win. How did south Doyle qb back up play?

  46. This is one of those games I can see going both ways. I think the issue is going to be can AC hang around for the 4th quarter depth wise. Offensively I believe AC is going to score some points, and I'm interested to see how SD's defense responds to that. The obvious answer for AC is to put pressure on the young QB and have him make some hasty decisions. Even if SDs OL do not perform Elijah young is too good not to make plays happen regardless. AC - 35 SD - 28

  47. SD is supposed to be the "real deal" this year, but I have a feeling this will not be an easy game for them. I believe this game will be closer than most people think.
