Kicked out 22 this morning. They come in from Europe and Asia overnight when I am sleeping. Most are from India, others are using VPNs which change every time they use them. Several from Moscow this morning. Can't block them very easily. Had 130 emails from the same group, using my "Contact CoachT" link. Most of them are working for companies. They don't tend to come in on the weekends when they are off. There is an authentication process but these don't seem to be bots, They appear to be individuals so they can answer the authentication questions as long as they have valid email addresses. They also appear to use AI to write posts. Pay subscriptions might stop it but then there might not be anyone here but me and a few others. We'll come up with an answer. Just bear with us. In the meantime, report those posts but don't click on the links.

I'll have to be the guy that goes against the grain from reading through some of this. Dobyns Bennett has some fine coaches on their staff . There has always been some fine coaches since I started watching them years ago. Yeah,I've gotten a little aggravated at times over the years with this and that ,but hey we all get aggravated with everything in life at times and that's part of it.Besides having some great coaches on their staff ,they also have some great men who try and help the young men on the team with everyday problems besides just being football coaches.I appreciate many of the coaches today and many that are no longer there for their efforts with my kids and their teammates. I remember one young man that Coach Christian and coach Clark tried to help and went over and beyond to do so.I liked that young man and wish like everything that life would have been better for him but the effort several on DB's staff gave was more then great and those kinds of things you just have to be thankful for and really appreciate besides just winning or losing football games........

True, that’s why the single wing is so effective in MS and as you progress up in grade it becomes less effective. It’s easy to run and doesn’t take a great deal of offensive knowledge from the staff as well. Basically pretty much anyone can run it but at that level most don’t have the speed or discipline defensively to stop it. That said from time to time a team like Union City will pop up but it’s a rarity.

Not defending the Principal nor implicating anyone else, but I highly doubt that this was the Principal acting without approval. The Director of Schools has to approve faculty assignments in most systems, and I'm thinking that this move wasn't made on a whim.

I hate playing the "what if" game. Rosser was special, and I don't doubt that they'd still be a force, but you're also assuming that something else wouldn't have drawn him away from Central. It's impossible to know if he would still be the coach in 2023. That being said, look at the average tenure for HS football coaches in places like Knox County, especially for younger coaches. With the exception of the lone long tenured coach in KCS (i.e., Eddie Courtney), they just don't stick around like they once did. Same thing is true for teachers, even the really good ones. The headache to dollar ratio is a huge part of that. Why wouldn't a young, successful coach try to parlay that into a better and/or more lucrative opportunity? Rosser would have done that at some point because almost anyone in that scenario would.

Mustangs by a lot. I hope the Mustangs don’t lose focus with this weak schedule at the end of the season.

It doesn’t matter who the opponent is the next several weeks. It’s a “you take care of you” mentality. Set goals in games like this to see where you really measure up. Can we hold team A under 150 total yards? Can we have 0 turnovers? Can we throw for 200? Rush for 200? Can we commit less than 4 penalties the whole game? Can we make every xp? Etc…Competition, especially within a team, breeds excellence.

Stop it! I watched film from last year, the only kids that played were a Lineman and CB! Heck the biggest kid on our team right now didn’t play! East lose 8 players this year, so I don’t know what your definition of young is but to each its own. By the way what excuse have anyone from east made? Man said coach them up dude you haven’t seen nothing yet!!!

Naw I’m just messin round, I wish. Sadly I don’t think the coach has head in the game right now. Calls plays that don’t make a whole lot of sense, however I’ll still be hopeful.

Definitely. I appreciate the kind words, and I enjoy your posts and insight as well. Would love to meet everyone next time I can make it to a game. Might try to make it to the Farragut game. If I do, we can definitely try and make that happen. I’ve heard nothing but great things about @BroadwayBarberShop’s legendary tailgates and food too. Would love to stop by there sometime as well.

What I think is the best part is how after the Henry’s sadly passed away the coaching has stayed the same. It’s almost as if they are still right with them every Friday night.

I’m not a Coalfield fan just an outsider that’s been apart of many many Coalfield vs Oneida games and have grown to respect them from those games. The way that program is ran is ran the right way.

You are correct! I should have put outside South Pitt Greenback Cloudland Clay Co or Gordonsville nobody in 1A has really caused them a sweat. Plus nobody in there region outside Greenback those couple years have even come close to touching them.

Gordonsville the last 2 years and Clay Co last year have beaten Coalfield and 2/3 of those games weren’t even close

Waverly has a chance to win out. Loretto and Lewis have to travel to Waverly. This is what it would look like if they did win out. Waverly finishes 9-1 with a loss to MTP Loretto finishes 9-1 (if they beat MTP which they should) with a loss to Waverly Lewis finishes 8-2 with losses to Loretto/Waverly Mt Pleasant finishes 8-2 with losses to Lewis/Loretto

if i'd considered it, this fiasco would have changed my mind. I really have never seen anything like it. My favorite part is stll the crazies coming on here acting like there is so much more they can't tell us. Well now we now it all, and none of it puts slover in a bad light.

After reflecting on it for quite some time, I’m not so sure the responsibility doesn’t fall squarely on the parents that complained and someone at the central office. I find it hard to believe that a first year principal and AD in a system like Sweetwater would be given the authority to make a decision like this. Very interested in seeing how this one will play out in the off-season.

Not a totally bad week. I just feel as though I needed another excellent week like the last one to put some real pressure on. But with @harley04 catching Dear Leader @3rdandLong, it allows the peloton, (those just a few back) to have a little more hope. The leader can't just ride the "favorites" and coast to the finish line now. @pujo is closing in fast. He looks to be playing the ole "shake and bake" slingshot strategy. Looks like @dogtruth ran short on kibbles n bits and a couple of his dogs just up an ran away. @oneyewilly making his presence known into the top 10. Let's delve in and see what happened. 1. A real strength program. Whatever they are doing is not working. 2. Some speedy skill players to show up for school and practice. 3. A coach that does not get bored with working on the fundamentals. 80% of the game. 4. A fresh perspective on the sidelines. No reason not to be at least a playoff team.

This award has to be Dawson White. No questions asked, there is no other player in 1a who has the impact on their team this kid does. If you take him off of Moore County they are an average team at best. They might as well call this award the “Mr. White” award this season.

You are right you are still very much in this ball game. Now for me......I knew after we talked last night that one of us was going downhill because we had opposite pics for several LOL..... just so happens I was the one that went sledding. Also, one has to hit those 50/50 games and the last couple weeks I've been on the wrong one of the stick of several of those. Guess I'm going to have to find me a lucky penny like that Ace uses.

I’ve read the article, read the posts, and have no dog in this race. But the fact that this man is still teaching at the school tells me everything I need to know about the situation. If he did anything improper he wouldn’t be in the classroom, plain and simple. And if anything it reaffirms the dedication he has to his students, district, and community.

Coach Harig at Loudon coached both his sons. The legend Gary Rankin coached his two at Alcoa. HC have always been allowed to coach their own kids to my knowledge.

Going forward head coach should be required to meet with parent committee on Thursday. Parent committee will let coach know what players will start, how many carries for each back and which receivers to throw to. They will also meet with coach at halftime, let him know what he is doing wrong and what to do in the second half.

Truth! This is a set back for Sweetwater. Who would want to coach there for less than average pay, plus fan/admin/politics?

Here is the problem I see and this is not a shot at Sweetwater but goes for any program. You hire a coach to lead your program so let him lead your program. (I don't care who the man plays or if someone else that the admin or fans think is better) If he runs it into the ground in one year then fire his tail but don't suspend a coach in the middle of a season because he wasn't playing the Admin or Fans favorite of who they think should be the QB. You are going to have no head coach wanting to coach at a program that has done what Sweetwater has just done. Administration is for hiring and not Coaching, Fans are for enjoyment of the game and cheering on the team not coaching. The head football coach is who gets to decide who starts and who doesn't, it's as simple as that.

Parents & fans from Sweetwater were signing petitions and contacting the AD & School Board wanting him gone because he started his son. It’s small town politics & everyone knows everyone and parents wanted their kid to play QB & the people in charge listened. When Slover’s son did good you could still hear parents upset or criticizing the kid in the solely because he started over the hometown boy who just so happens to be close with the people in charge. So they are crying daddy ball but all the while they are wanting to play buddy ball. Apparently he’s getting investigated for discrimination for those reasons. Idk if it’s true and just a rumor but I’m told Slover doesn’t know why he is getting investigated. Also I’m told that coaches wanted him gone too because the assistants knew Slover didn’t want them because they aren’t good coaches. They were friends, classmates, or whatever with the AD, principal, and the higher ups on the board. He started interviewing more coaches and they didn’t like that. It has been said many times that Sweetwater want coaches from the town. This is something they do with coaches or players who aren’t from Sweetwater. They’ve had a few outside coaches who didn’t stick around in less than a year. It’s small town politics
