Dearest Mother- Once again, your youngest son, who is of sound mind and strong body, picks up his goose quill to inform you of our past, present and future campaigns. Last week we were about to engage the warriors from the village of Jasper. And just when the time came for the battle to commence, their Chief, RunAndHides, gathered up his would be force and fled into the Fiery Gizzard once more. It must be true; his plumed headdress is made from chicken feathers. Then, Captain Victory, try as he might, could not get Chief RunAndHides to reschedule our battle against his feathered flock. Therefore, Captain Victory and his band of Pirates have moved forward and set their trained eyes upon another campaign. This one against the Hornet men from the land of Huntland. Led by none other than Major Blue Hornet Robertson. We have never ventured into this Hornets nest that lies beautifully tucked away in the land of Huntland. But, I do believe Sweet Mother of mine, we have plenty of Bruton left over from our prior two battles with two different swarms of YellowJacket men. Tell Papa the word around the port of South Pittsburg is that the Lion men from the Red Banks above the scenic city shall not traverse down the Tanasi. Tell him the unseen enemy has reached out and struck again. Upon hearing this unfortunate news, Captain Victory has sent out a call into other lands, ports, hills and valleys for someone to step forward and accept an invitation to The Beene. Maybe that call was heard. Maybe that call will be answered. We shall see. But for the meantime, our full attention is our trek into the Hornets nest. Then afterwards, our fate for the following week will rest in the Hands of the Almighty. Sweet Mother of mine, there are a lot of unknowns in this campaign season. But one thing I was taught early on was to trust in the Lord. Yes, I trust in Him. And I also trust in Captain Victory. For wherever he leads I will follow. And just like cousin Merle's song lyrics say, I sing them now. Yes, I sing them now to everyone here and back home; If we make it through December, everything's gonna be alright I know. Collierville's team has two players test positive with COVID-19.

Defense played well enough to win tonight. OR offense had one first down and 14 yards at halftime. 65 total yards for the night. No way around it. Not gonna beat anybody good until we get it together on offense. Hats off to West. They didn't play their best game tonight. The Rebs did everything they could to let OR hang around with a chance to win in the 4th. Cat's offense just wasn't prepared well enough to go score in crunch time. I think our kids played hard and never quit. I'm proud of our player's great effort.

This will be the toughest regular season game for the Jackets this year.

Jackets defense swarms and creates turnovers. White House must gain first downs on the ground and control the clock, if they do that this will be a okay game. If they Don't do that and the Jackets defense forces 3 & outs, obvious 3 & long passing down and turnovers to give the ball back to coach hill and that offense this could get ugly very very fast. If BDP controls the clock: BDP - 14 SPT 35 If BDP has more than 6 3 & outs or +1 turnover: BDP 0 - SPT 48

Yeah that game kinda sucked!! When the running back gets tackled from the REAR in the backfield ... what the heck! Let's get the O-line blocking and the receivers catching and see what happens. And YES change the play calling, what they're calling ain't working. I can't be anymore negative but there ya have it.

Is it just me or does the OC and HC need to start planning games a little better? Maybe they ought to do something radical and allow the QB to hit WRs on 1-1 situations. Where we know our WR can out run the corner or DB. Why not get into the rhythm of calling audibles at the line. The play calling sucks so bad I’d probably just give the QB the keys and let him do his thing. At this point, I could guarantee it’ll be better then THE MOST PREDICTABLE OFFENSE on the Lords green earth! Hate to say this because yalll know I’m a Coach G fan but maybe it’s time the AD and School Board start making moves on a new HC? I

45-7 Springfield, WH might score more on the JV if they leave their starters in. I see a running clock at the beginning of the third quarter. I do hope both teams play their best football and come out of the game injury free.

Kid if there is one absolute certainty in this world, it is that I am never in the stands at a game. I am in the middle of the action. Every, single time. If Pruitt is interested in anyone that was playing in that game (for either team) he will be the next Buzz Peterson at UT.

I think Central is a little better than normal this year. I have no idea on the score. Its either gonna be a blow out or a close game. Nothing in between i wouldnt think. As for the new coach they almost have to go outside the system. For one none of the current coaches can lead a winning team outside of South. Plus you would have the drama and even though it will be combined you still will have some school loyalties involved. They need to go outside the system for it to be fairly run imo

So Central is missing 3/4 of their starting secondary? That could be too much to overcome against Plow and their passing game.

I think Lenoir City will get a TD or two but I see Rhea winning pretty comfortably. We have a strong group of freshmen and the 8th grade group behind them that is also very talented. The back field on offense is going to be fun to watch over the next few years.

Let's talk about games next week because 2 teams in particular have me confused still. Pearl-Cohn/Hillsboro Stratford/Hunters Lane Cane Ridge/Overton McGavock/Hillwood Whites Creek/Glencliff Antioch/Smyrna Who is East Nashville playing? I've heard Lebanon and I've heard Maplewood. Who is Maplewood playing? I've heard Mt. Juliet, Spring Hill, and East Nashville? (I've also heard MJ and SH are playing each other next week)

No one - literally no one - should be surprised by their team getting shut down. Would imagine their other fall sports will soon follow and perhaps even in-person school, All you had to do was look at their student section (and Hendersonville's) last Friday. Packed in like sardines and ZERO masks. What an absolute failure of administrative leadership at both schools. Good to see SportsGuy22 still in his denial phase. Some people never learn.

I agree 100%. In the past, we would have never known that someone was even feeling bad - they would have played and gone on. This reaction to this overblown "pandemic" is crazy.

West center and qb need to get on same page...had they been the score would have been worse and another shutout for the Rebels. Would have liked to see more of Barfield in the backfield with Mattress hobbled, however he must not know the playbook bc he went the wrong way multiple times and caused plays to blow up in the backfield...West offense still has time to get better and healthy but as of now they are not ready for Powell or Central, but thats why they play the games. West qb has disappointed this year especially with the guys he can throw to...dont know if this is a timing issue bc of no spring practices or preseason scrimmages or if hes hurt but had the throws been there more chances to score. To be fair a few drops by the receivers didn't help either. Regardless good to be 5-0 and lots to work on...Go Rebels!

So Bad on Offense. We have a good defense and playmakers on offense year in and year out. This offense has come up short against good teams, time and time again for far too long now. What's that saying about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?

Seems like everyone wants to take the easy route to winning, 1st sign of trouble (a down year) they jet, perfect analogy of how people think these days, the days of "working through it" are long gone for some...

Yes it does but the last time I went to Bearden I had a hip pointer and could only make it up three rows and there sat your mom and dad and I set with them. That's when we all saw those two people come tumbling down the steps. I always enjoy them and hope your dad is doing better.

This isn’t the typical Blackman team that RuCo is used to but I think that they win easily over WC.
