  1. Very difficult news for Campbell County Head Coach Justin Price, his 5 month old baby was diagnosed with leukemia. Neither Price brother was in attendance last night for Campbell County's 13 - 6 win over Austin-East in the Knoxville Jamboree. Keep the Cougar Nation in your prayers.

  2. EVIL EMPIRE, THAT TEAM TO THE EAST, THAT TEAM THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED would all be acceptable, but your term is out of line. Satan is real and he is destroying lives and families every day. We are talking about a group of kids playing a football game. I'll tell you what, if you feel you need to edit or delete your post, then I'll delete my quote and I'll urge the other to also.

  3. You’re exactly right. In my opinion, Haywood may be the most important of the four games. Maybe even the most important of the first half of the season. If we come out and play well against them and get the win, it could set the tone for the entire season. If we lay an egg, we could very well go 1-3 in that stretch. Either way, I still say this team will look completely different by week 7-8. Experience will go a long way, especially for the young QB and new starters up front.

  7. Okay Shocker honestly it's been a little difficult to size my guys up. At times we have shown that we are who we have been for the last decade and at other times we seem lost and confused. But tonight we seemed to be turning the corner on some of that. BPM mentioned an early INT and he was right. We were cramming the ball down the field and I believe we were going to score but a couple of penalties and mishandled snaps stalled out the drive we had going. I have heard that we are getting our starting Fullback back on Monday but not sure about our QB. The coaches are looking at some different players at other positions and we are improving as they are making those changes. By the same token, those guys are having to learn how to play a new position. We have played three very good teams this preseason and got slapped around by all three. Milan is an outstanding football team and they have size and speed all over the place. With the exception of the I NT and a fumble inside our 20 I believe we would have had a much better outcome. Numbers to watch are 56,77,2,3,24,68,. Im sure there are more but right now I am sleepy and I have to go to work tomorrow so Im done for the day.

  10. Most Alcoa and Maryville starters were out of the game after the 1 st. series on each side of the ball last night. Not to down either of the other three teams but the honest truth is that Alcoa's second team could crack the top four in 3A and Maryville could hit the top ten in 6A with their JV's. There's that much of a drop off in both of those 2 schools classifications to make this statement so in reality all the teams played very well last night in my opinion. Every game was good plus I just got through eating my last Band Burger from last night I got for a dollar a piece which made the game even gooder.

  12. I do know this Waverly want see another semifinal this year and I wished LC played ya'll. I guess you have to get on the Mustangs bandwagon because the tigers sure won't get the job done. Be a hater all you want. Nobody in LC cares.

  14. Yes sir I believe the defense played their best last night and so did the o line! With that being said our first 4 games of the season are brutal!!! We could be anywhere from 1-3 to 3-1 after those first 4 games. We wont be 4-0. My hope is that we will be 2-2 at minimum. If things dont go our way we could easily be 1-3. Dont forget freshman QB with a brutal start to the season! Haywood is last years 4A runner up, Beech was in semi final in 5A last year and expected to be in Cookeville this year, Dyer County will be a cakewalk, Brentwood is Brentwood they will be tough

  15. I agree. Oftentimes early in the season defenses are ahead offenses. And both of these teams are loaded on defense.

  17. 1st - WB kids played their hearts out last night. The game mattered to them and it showed. That's why I gripe about the schools not playing. During the game a wb asst coach actually said very loud that Rankin was scared to lose to WB. I started to ask him if WB would schedule a real game next yr but would not have been appropriate and I didn't want to take anything away from the kids effort. Think I might ask him later. it's stuff like that, the other jamboree stuff that's been brought up, etc. That draws negative attention to the program But to answer your question about how WB looked, Clemmer was on target and looked sharp, #17 ( I think) made a couple of very athletic plays. Durham played well. The kicker is legit. The kids fought hard, you should be proud of their effort.

  22. Sounds like the makings of a 'classic' series. Make the games an annual thing at the beginning of the season Give it a name like the 'Metro Classic'. Have it on a Saturday, and include the 4 teams each season.

  27. Towner man its ok this Saturday but Grider better not pull this mess again. The SEC starts next Saturday. I just left ronnies red eye. Some of them jailhouse fellars think they can make it a game work our boys. Grider better hit the practice field Monday and get our boys to lifting weights everyday even on game day. We could not nock a hole in that Hayworth mans line. You think im joking but im not.

  28. I’ll go 8-2 with the possibility of making it to the semifinals if they get past Powell. I think Powell is beatable and I don’t think OR is getting enough attention. But honestly that’s how you want it, no attention is sometimes the best attention IMO.

  29. Lol. I know man. Its just tough to see people you know and care about get slandered when you know its not true. I feel the need to clear the record I suppose. Especially when it's degrading. I really should just keep quiet. You know what they say. Haters gonna hate. And even if that isn't hate. Whatever it is sure ain't love! I'm cool with adversaries, rivalries, and trash talk stuff. Just don't like seeing the names get dropped and folks singled out publicly. If you're going to do that stuff then you need to speak up and tell who you are publicly as well. And if you aren't brave enough to do that, then you shouldn't open your mouth about said person on a public forum. That's just how I see it. Right, wrong, or indifferent. How's them Lions looking?

  30. Lake County will be tough for anybody to beat in Single A football. I’d run the read option with Snyder 30 times a game. He is tough to bring down and has speed. We’ve played two tough hard fought scrimmages against Waverly and now Lake County... I’d say we are ready to beat Obion County next week now. On another note... #3 that shed off the big Lake County lineman and took the ball back around to the other side of the field and broke off the big run is only a freshman. Kid is going to be a stud.

  32. I am really not sure who the Oak Ridge Wildcats played or when. I was born in 1963 so it was probably around the 1968 season when one of my older brothers played nose guard for the Big Red ( now we say, the Cardinal and Gray ). My special memory was standing along the 72 steps that go from the field up to the locker rooms. We would slap the Wildcats on their shoulder pads as they climbed the steps. When my brother went past he gave me his chin strap and made sure I saw the blood coming from his broken nose. He was proud of always getting his nose broke during games. He was a tough son of a gun with a crazy streak a mile wide. Now he and his Family live in Hawaii and he is very laid back.

  33. LoL Ok sounds reasonable. I am looking at 3 schedules wondering how we can best divide and conquer.! So I doubt I make any UTC games. I can't wait for the first College games to start for my girls this weekend. HS has already worked in a couple Scrimmages but the real stuff starts next week.

  37. I don't think the qb will be 100% but a lot of kids aren't this time of year. He went out in the Greenback game. He did come in for a few plays but was prolly brought back in to show the threat of passing the ball was still there. I will say he made a huge play on 4th down and about 5 or 6 and picked up the necessary yardage for a 1st down that kept the game winning drive alive. Gutsy player.

  40. You and I were talking about this not long ago. It's getting to the point that if you wanna not just compete better but bring it all home. If one school gets a couple of transfers then another school will feel compelled to do so and do more. I believe it'll get to the point of ' What you get, I can get more' It's the nature of things today. Nothing wrong in wanting to win. Just what are you willing to do and accept to do so.
