Central beat Catholic 2 years ago to reach the State Championship game, and that Catholic team was much better than this years team.

He is quarantined for 14 days due to a positive family member. He was out the JC game and will be out this week as well. He is quite the presence on the interior on both sides of the ball and we will be glad to get him back.

Agree 100%. Pretty much what I was going to say. I’m sure Camden has gotten better. They will continue to get better. New coach. New system. New everything. It takes time to learn, however I don’t think Camden will win this game. I see Camden winning 2 more games, Stewart Co and Sycamore.

I am always wary of Camden. Always bigger and a very physical team. Last year they quit early after marching it down the Panthers throat before a fumble turned into a 102 yard fumble return. But that was last year and they probably have a different mindset under McConnell. I expect a hard hitting game and Camden keeping it close

Everyone marking this down as a blowout but who has DB played? This game could have a lot of DB fans squirming a bit. Blazer is always self depreciating but Boone is a decent team that gave Greeneville and EHS all they wanted. I'd be surprised if its a blowout but a closer game wouldn't surprise me one bit

I thought for a minute we could change our name to the Road Warriors, but when I thought about it I was like, ok stupid, you sure don't want the Warrior name!!! LOL.

From what I have watched on the little video I have come across, USJ is a talented team. They are big on both lines and seem very agile. The one piece of video I watched was against NCS. The linebackers are quick and really attack you. Offensively, I was very impressed with the QB. He seemed very calm and ran the offense (spread from what I could tell with some option ran out of it) smoothly. The backs both have good speed and will be challenge to contain, especially behind that big offensive line. McKenzie has a big line as well along with two outstanding running backs. I am anticipating McKenzie starting sophomore Jackson Cassidy at QB. His first action this year was in the Peabody game and you could tell it was his first time truly under the Friday night lights. I look for this one to be close and of course, I have to go with my Rebels to win it. I am worried the two week layoff will hurt the Rebels early so knocking the rust off needs to happen quickly and early. Safe travels to our friends from USJ. I will watch it again but i think you might get some of the many calls against USJ as unsportsmanlike but were another call. Anyway that group of officials have been suspended by TSSAA

Not so fast. It is true Lake County is a young team and not like last year team but I am fairly confident that both Lake County and Huntingdon will play in the semifinals. The others you mentioned are a notch below this two in the west. Lake County will be just fine against 1A competition as will Huntingdon. So. Pitt is the overwhelming favorite to win a gold ball. Anything short of that is a complete failure and they may need to look within their program if that happens. So. Pitt has been favorite every year for the past 7 or 8 years and have not got the job done. It makes you wonder. This is the pirates year to get it done. If not there is something wrong on the pirate ship.

Well you may be right but it would just give us a different game to look forward to and the Powell kids would be excited and ready to make a statement. I would give Alcoa the win 31 to 17 or could be 42 to 17 depending on discipline out of Powell

From what I am hearing South Pittsburg is not ranked high enough. #1 just doesn't seem to be high enough after all they can only be taken down by Covid come November. There will be a real battle for the silver ball on the west side of the bracket. Lake County is still riding the State Championship wave which is understandable but they are nothing like they were last season. Huntingdon is also a shadow of their self from last year not impressed at all. I know nothing about Region 5. If there is a dominate team there they will represent the west side of the bracket in the State Championship game. Outsiders looking in McEwen, Collinwood, Dresden and Bruceton may make some waves.

They can score 21 in the 1st quarter. Unfortunately our guys are just too beat down at this point. If we played you earlier in the year then we could give you a good game and maybe even win, but this is just one of those games with the outcome predetermined and you just go thru the motions to get it over with. That is the problem with scheduling very tough teams, it is a 2-sided coin. On the one side there are those who will say that playing much better teams helps you prepare for your region games and the playoffs. On the other side of that coin though is that after getting beat down week after week the team loses their focus, their will to keep going. Moral victories only carry you so far. DB names the score but I don't see them running it up just because they can. Once we hit a running clock the starters get benched so look for a final of something like 48-7. Maybe next year we could play DB in the first couple of games and make it more competitive but we always seem to get you guys mid-season...

West by as many as they want. HVA just isn't very good this year.

Your so right.Oak Ridge is a top 10 team in their class almost every yr.From 2010-2020 is first decade we didnt go to state.People even forget about those good teams Blade had was playing up a class and couldve kept that streak a alive.Not to mention 2 or 3 other years we had a good enuff team.Besides all that high school football is great because of the true rivalry games and the rival games the happen from going at it with another team for 3 or 4 years straight in playoffs or for region titles.And dont get me wrong going to state is great and always the goal but the best games Ive ever seen have been reg season and playoffs leading up to state.91 games vs Central was way better than state title.Battles with DB in the playoffs.Going to Riverdale and shocking everybody after coacht talked about the cupcake sch we played and how we really wasnt good.Gulmire vs Farragut 2005.Smacking Clinton 74-0 after they poked the bear.I could go on and on but people acting like nothing but a state title matters are nuts.And we have plenty and more than most so its not like I say that because we havent won any

I was also sorta wondering why they came out throwing until I heard them say Mills (best RB) was out for the game. He had 175 yds. (I think) in the first half last week against HV. Not having his speed in the backfield hurt, but I thought when they finally started running the ball, Dudley did a good job. But had the QB completed those early passes into the flats (and they were open) things might have been different. I still think if both teams are at full strength, you see a better game. To me, right now, I don't see West or OR beating Powell. We must take care of business with South Doyle, who look better and better each week. And we all have to beat Covid to get to the Semi-Final game

But I love how willing Oak Ridge is to go out and schedule some big time out of district games. Being prepared at 5 and 5 for the playoffs is sometimes better than a 10 and 0 unbattled team. Ask DB back when they let William Blount handle them 1st round 2006 and Mcminn in 2008

A lot of those sophomores playing early and a lot are the starters on defense or the backups that rotate in regularly. They’ve been doing that all season from the get go. One other tidbit; Springfield’s win over Wilson Central looks better and better. WC gave Mt Juliet all they wanted last night.

For those that didn’t hear it, tonight on 104.5 The Zone the great Guru Murphy Fair said that the Springfield-White House rivalry dates back to Boyce Smith. The guru is a foolru, the series didn’t begin until 1987. Coach Smith retired in 1972. Murphy is knowledgeable in most things high school football related, but not this time.
