Dang I for sure wasn't trying to start a fight lol, I don't know that region 2 A is necessarily down ,but south pitt is like alcoa move up lol, I mean a 1A school with 76 players, that come from all over 3 states and surrounding counties...should win.

I picked MBA last week, however I think "Marty Magic" runs out this week against a much more competent McCallie offense. I think KC puts up a good fight but Baylor gets the W and sets up the game most of us want.

Same one they always do. Ultra balanced running and passing with lots of formations. Can line up 5 wide one play. Could be in a Maryland I the very next. Could have a 10-play drive with 10 straight runs. Or could throw every down. Kinda just depends on what matchup the defense is presenting.

Mccallie Vs MBA- Mccallie won earlier this season 35-0. Mccallie is too physical and has too many weapons. I will be surprised if there isn’t a running clock in the 3rd quarter. Mccallie wins 42-7. Baylor vs Knox Catholic. This is another rematch of a mercy rule game that Baylor won 42-0 three weeks ago. Knox Catholic did not play 5 or 6 of their starters that game. Catholic went toe to toe with Mccallie and just beat a very good MUS team. This one will be closer than last time but Baylor still pulls out the victory. Baylor wins 35-24.

Nothing will change from the first game except we had a defense starter that was out for that game and he is a wild man who loves to hit. Dresden 35 to Onion City 21 Union City struggled to stop Dresden all night we only punted 1 time and gave you a short field on a not so smart toss back that caused a fumble. Two many weapons for Dresden with a mean and big o line.

The teams in this region were very young this year. When you look at what the teams return in 2024 you have to believe that everyone will be excited about the new season that awaits. Congrats to all of the seniors on finishing their high school playing days and best wishes to all of them on the futures that await them all. I hope that I do not miss anyone with this post. Smith should be the overwhelming favorite to win state in 2A this year. Anything less would have to be a disappointment.

Idk sideline…When I think of Hardin it’s always QB & WR. I remember we beat them without barion brown. When week 9 hit folks from west Tn was saying we might sweep the whole district and whitehouse almost did it. A team that PC and MC beat 109-20…..

Giles has a pretty good team. MCentral has been suspect all year, with a good offense. #11 for Central told me all the players for Giles were respectful all game. The last play the Giles player pushed #11 out of bounds and he gave him a shove back. Not much more to it than that, I have the video if you want to see it, No other players got involved. Point is, I feel some of you are making a bigger deal than it was. Good luck the rest of the way. Alcoa is a beast.

Alcoa started small once also just 4 or 5 kids a year. Name one sport where they are bad. How is it possible that a small town like Baxter magically starts producing winners in every single sport when no one else in the same county is consistently any good at anything? Even Oakland and Alcoa is bad at some sports. The only ones good at everything are private schools. Macon getting 1 player a decade from the football powerhouse of Red Boiling Springs (which holds many state records for losing) is quite a bit different than syphoning off 5 or 6 players a year from the largest school in the state. Look it’s legal but people who say it’s not happening or love to say “we are just better” are the ones that irritate us in places without those advantages. They also protest when beaten by the Alcoa’s and Fayetteville’s of the world.

Tell us again how many home school kids y’all have playing over there this year that don’t count toward enrollment! LOL

Yep. Derek is a great guy, and there’s a reason all the coaches that had been there longer than him all vouched for him and said he should be head coach. No doubt that he’s the right guy for the job. He’s Maryville through and through. And I have full faith he’s gonna get them back to competing for championships. Two subpar years, shouldn’t overshadow the fact that he’s already won 2 gold balls. No matter who replaced GQ, no one will ever be able to repeat what he did. He was the best high school coach in the country in my opinion. And Ellis and Gaylor were two of the best right under him. Better days are ahead I think.

I like the playoffs as is. Top 4 each region. Every region is represented equally as far as teams and I understand that not all regions are created equally, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles in this simple format. Sure, a better school gets left out, but if you're not top 4 in your region you shouldn't be in it anyways. Any type of wildcard format would lead to schools scheduling softer schedules. I think with this simple format it allows for better out of region games across all classifications. And you don't hamper schools that are located in remote areas that have difficulty finding teams to schedule out of their area. Just my thoughts. Others think differently and that's ok.

cornersville seemed to give mckenzie a good and eagleville knocked off the 2 seed from that region. i also think fayetteville is a solid win despite the down year. franklin county was also a big team with athletes and still couldn’t compete with mc

That's great, blood is thicker than water and he wants to see his nephew and the team while he's willing to take those risk that speaks volumes. My beef is with the administration for allowing people to be suckered into believing they are going to see the game that Friday Night and the thing isn't even on. Do you think when that happens everyone at home says no game tonight, let's go in the kitchen and make a pie. I would be willing to bet a dollar for every cuss word that was said towards Maryville High could rake in a couple of thousand dollars everytime that happens. Imagine the principal setting at home and being cussed out to ale and back and not even knowing it.

I agree, except in my opinion, I think South Pitt will exposes everybody in the east not just quad 1.

This is as down as region 2 has been in a very long time top to bottom. Region 1 as well both 1A and 2A. Coalfield is a good team but no where near what they have been in recent years. Coalfield, York and Hampton are all clearly the better teams but I’m not sold they’re great teams. Semifinals will expose quad 1 in both classifications in my opinion.
